Big hit could eventually go 2kms! Downhill!

By:
Blimey! SA were 5s when I left the house. A 20-minute tram-ride to Croydon and they are three times that. Did a bomb go off?

As the England run rate increases, so does the chance of a result, but the market thinks different. The weather forecast on Sky showed significant rain on Sunday.
By:
Pope is indeed and exciting looking player!
I think Sibley and Crawley will be Englands future opening partnership although will need to have a longer look at both. Not sure about Crawley yet but both of them have the right temperament. Burns is ready and probably the number one for now. Jennings may be a better bet in SL because he can play spin well. |
By:
I suppose that an early SA breakthrough was hoped for by those backing them so after an hour of England whacking every bowler, the chance of a win looks remote. Last might I thought that SA would get a first inning lead but not so sure now.

I eradicated all red took longer than i thought.
Not many peoples cup of tea, but at evens the pair, surely Rajshani Royals are a bet against Khulna Titans? Be surprised if this one is fixed its a final! |

Looks like the weather might miss for the rest of the match. Maybe some light rain but not for long so we are back to where we were. How dry is this pitch? Shame sort of that Stokes is taking McMaharaj to the cleaners. Want to see if it will spin more or less than yesterday. Cleared SA red at 12. Going to be laying draw now or backing England |
By:
But the forecast graphics do look like rain!

More importantly for draw backers, Rabada has started to bowl a very negative line. Playing for a draw already?
By:
Good point KP, I change my stance on the Rabada points! although I would have preferred a heavy fine cos I want to see him in Johannesberg
By:
Without a doubt SA are almost out of this game. Butler, Curran and Bess to come you might think England will get in excess of 400 and may even bat until shy of tea.

stokes ... superstar

I think it is better to fine the player for over aggressive behaviour rather than ban them. Fine them a higher percentage of match fee than 15%. Give them something to think about
By:
Not sure SA batsmen will have much problem with this pitch atm. Better for England to bat and bat
By:
Just heard Shaun Pollock talking bout rain coming in at 3.00pm
By:
Great effort again by Stokes and also by Pope. I still think England will find it hard to take wickets. Oops, Pope out. Collapso coming? Not out. England's day.
By:
pope lucky there ... hopefully lesson learned ...
if rain possible england should continue to bat all day unless 10 wkts down ... saffers could be demoralised by 2 full days in the field |
By:
Draw now odds on.
By:
great morning for england
By:
Yes!
But we are not even at lunch on Day 2. I think there is huge lay opportunity in that price or an England back at 2.2 The pitch certainly does look easy at the moment but I would hope England bat on until tea. 450 odd by tea is a staunch position to be in. The draw price of course may well come down more if that happens so I have some reserve for that occurrence. Then the SA openers may not be too troubled and as stated there may be rain around 3 but after that things might start to look a little different tomorrow and the draw price could rise sharply on wickets. |

Think I may have earned a Kohli watch for half an hour!

Nas making a monkey of himself for his defence of Rabada!
oops I might report myself! Mikey has got this right. I did think it was harsh and dumb but see what Rabada did with Crawley. He is lucky not to have got a clump. Celebrate like that by all means but not within punching distance of the man you have just got out! |
By:
Give me an honest answer here
I have given you 5 honest answers! Gawn Keysey! |
By:
as an isolated incident yesterday then any ban would be considered harsh but its the cumulative effect ... the smith incident deserves a ban of itself
turning it around if one batsmen turned and hit rabada as a form of retaliation then i wonder how the incidents would then be viewed .. ou don't want players banned but perhaps its deserved here |
By:
I just talked to the match referee. Apparently rabada called him milky bar kid.
By:
India very short...admittedly they are defending 340
By:
people Nas in particular are getting confused and what constitutes improper behaviour.
Nobody wants to see Rabada banned, even England fans. The thing is what he did id provocative and dangerous because imho he invaded the batsman's space. The batsman could have reacted physically. The incidient on its own is no biggie but he has form. Celebrate with passion by all means but his follow through does not usually carry him into the batsmans crease. That imho was the crime and rightly he has be punished. The Punishment- Well here we go. He should be playing next week unless his behaviour was really in your face. The sad thing is he has not learned from previous episodes. I would want a higher penalty on the match fee but then he is a millionaire so as Rob Key said maybe fine the whole team and maybe they will " Police " him. If that does not work then yes give him a ban. The system needs reviewing. Again as Key said. Who would care if Pretorius was banned? Just because Rabada is a superstar it does not mean the crime must be treated differently! |

India awarded 5 penalty runs against them for running on the pitch...who'da thought it!
By:
Cricbuzz says there is no 5 run penalty
Stokesy gone! |
By:
I love you Butler!
By:
I would still like to see England get to 400! Pitch is not demonic by any means!

Feels like the game is on a knife edge..............

Re Rabada incident , surely a better solution would be to impose a notional "innings bowling ban" rather than a match ban , which will suit none of the paying spectators for the 4th test . Alternatively heavy fines ( to charity) might be invoked .
Rabada needs a word in his ear , as do a lot of those playing cricket at present . Constant chatter , sledging , mouthing , over exuberant celebrations etc , just get on with the game and forget about "modern " unacceptable behaviour . Problem is not just endemic in cricket , society these days is too forgiving re boorish behaviour , whether it is on our playing fields or in the "Mother of Parliaments" . All people ( except the Nazis) deserve respect , irrespective of colour , beliefs , and behaviour deemed "strange" . Cricket has always had a good record , but sometimes a slippery slope needs to be leveled out . |
By:
Theres a scenario, if you offered SA you could play Rabada but he can only bowl one innings, would be playing him?
By:
odds on incoming and rightly so..............

![]() All right all right...the show is over !Ashley i think it was yesterday when Pope came to the crease. Stokes looked in trouble against Maharaj. Things could have been a lot different. Now it is all about will the pitch deteriorate. It is benign at the moment but things could change and you wouldn't want to be sitting on the draw with large reds against it would you? |
By:
Nicely put Kelly!

Where are you sitting pecker?

Things will indeed change but i wont be laying the draw for at least 24 hors ![]() |
