Might see a dog flop if this draw keeps moving the way it is Crazy

The correct use of DRS shouldn't come down to the captain's personal interpretation.

There are a set of very clear rules of thumb which captains and batsmen should be educated in, and made to follow.

Strauss almost had it, there were one or two things missing, but he got very close to perfection.

The problem there was that the Kuhn one was unnecessary and wrong, because Kuhn's sh1t, and it was early in the innings (as well as not being out). It was wrong to waste the first (and speculative) review on that; rather it should have saved for either premier batsmen or later in the innings.

It's now 12s. Do you think some people reckon this is day 4? SA will accelerate later on but don't even need to to have plenty of time. Could plod on until lunch tomorrow and it still wouldn't be a draw often enough to justify 12s!

Was just about to say same. It's very odd. Not as if they've not scored either. They've put on 25 runs and seen off the opening spells.

Even if there is rain it will just be a shower, can't see it making much difference
By:

it wont make a difference to the result but it will be interesting to see how the market reacts

Crazy prices. I've been much better at trading the weather than the test match the last couple of days!

By:

Not sure SA can go much lower yet. Maybe a couple of ticks. The easier they find it to bat the more concerned SA backers become.

Also the SA price is extremely attractive to lay for short term gains.
By:
johnnythebull
When: 16 Jul 17 12:14
Mkt extremely flat..the longer SA bat w/o losing wkts their price will drift if anything
would need 3 quickish wkts for their price to drift significantly
like being out alone in the ocean in the doldrums atm

Yes, I reckon they'll bat on for a 450-500 run lead.

England have no chance to win - if they were chasing the lunchtime lead they should be 3/1 (would likely be evens) & yet they are less than 10s when the Saffers will end up with a lead of 450 to 500 - game lost on first innings when they had to get parity with SA & failed miserably
By:
wondersobright
When: 16 Jul 17 13:44
SA effectively 294/3...lead is looking minimum 400

england are 20/1+ to chase that down imo and draw should be 3 figures

makes SA huge at anything 1.1+ cannot understand the market
By:
wondersobright
When: 16 Jul 17 13:46
even chasing 295 I'd make them 3/1-4/1 to chase it down
