If Eng bat past lunch tomorrow and they probably will, SAF will know they have no chance of a win and look to bat overs, which despite the last Test, they have a history of doing well.
|
|
By:
The trouble is, the history of this particular SA side, is that they can't bat overs.

You're up early, jucel.
Keep an eye on those showers east of Sydney. |

Those showers could land right before play & the market will crumble

I think that as well. Just that I'm in a good position and looking at what might go 'wrong' for me. |

Kept it amazingly simple so far this test. Backed the draw at 4.7 and cashed out at 2.7
Missed the last session as I fell asleep |

I am big green draw, bigger red SA, tiny red Engerland
I don't care about SA red except if I wiped it I could back England I want to hold biggest green on England I am tempted to wait as I think draw will fall all day tomorrow and maybe even when SA bat it could go close to odds on With regard to the match. I think England have the better bowlers and more variety and skill particularly with an old ball. I expect them to be able to reverse it and the pitch could be taking spin by day 3. The pitch will be swept and rolled tomorrow morning. If they use their brains England could bat till tea and score in excess of 450 if the new ball does not get an early wicket. That will be a point of no return for SA. I think they may bat well on this wicket but if England get the ball to reverse after 30 to 40 overs say by the third morning or the pitch starts to indicate it may spin consistently I would hope to be able to lay the draw or smash into England at close ish to evens particularly if AB and Amla are at the wicket It will be a fine balance between the Draw and England tomorrow,. The big advantage is that SA will be going out every 10-20 runs in the morning. I am confident England score 450 plus maybe even 500. Btw I think Morkel has a side strain. I think that is why he didn't take the second new ball. His pace was down enough to merit a raised eyebrow even if he only bowled one over. The extent of it is now imho an unknown known. |

Draw 2.86 now.......wtf

Dont understand why draw moving in with fast scoring. Maybe market thinks its a flat pitch but its clearly not and even if it is, England's attack is good enough for 20 wickets.

By:
SA are virtually out of this now imo.

This couldnt of gone any better for me, i layed SA at 4.7 when they walked off and after half an hour this morning they are in double figures

I got quite a decent chunk of a further draw lay at 2.62, pleasantly surprisingly. Yes, match scenarios where the game is won by SA have evaporated but the England win has become a lot likelier with the quick runs buying them even more time to bowl SA out twice.

wow what have i missed this morning 70 runs in the 8 overs thats crazy

The deeper the match goes the more strain on an unconvincing SA bowling unit. I hope Bayliss will tell Stokes and Bairstow to bat sensibly for an hour without risk. After that, SA will be out of the game. No need for histrionics early doors tomorrow. Grind 'em into the dust. silently agreed with this when i read it last night ![]() |

hear that guys once from 18 1st inns that a team passed 400 and lost??
|
|
By:
as f*cking awesome as this is, stokes' issue is that he does seem to only have two gears, the first being batshit crazy t20 smasheroo, the second is sketchy scratch mode.
it's a problem that his game, both with the bat and the ball, is rather unsuited to the type of wickets england have been preparing for their test matches, whereas quicker SA and Australian wickets are much better for his batting and bowling. |

betting seems to indicate the draw is the perceived most likely outcome as Eng price isn't really getting any skinnier
but are the Saffer batsmen good enough? i'm not so sure think the draw is a lay |

it must be absolutely brilliant to be out there as a brit in awesome weather in an awesome location watching this unfold live
a moment in time to cherish forever |
|
By:
115 from 14 overs, what would it be if SA was up with the over rate?
|
|
By:
stokes looking to clear boundary every shot

brutal but brilliant to watch

Amla's future could be in doubt here, unless he starts coring runs. He wouldn't get a better track than this to do that.
