The game is dead. Unless you are backing the draw, cut your losses and go home.

Yes being run out is a ridiculous way to get out on here.

The play went as expected today although I thought de Villiers would score 300 but he only got 88, so I was 212 runs away with my prediction there. He played too cautiously at times, should have filled his boots.

I lost on that, although not at 1.01 or anything quite that stupid. Can't actually remember what price I did get or when in the match though.

I could trade out for nice green but still see Draw as best bet. I am holding. My plan is to trade out stop loss at my original price IF that happens, but can't see it personally 1.01 train imo

In my recent experience of a huge win on a test match, I'd spend it on losing almost the whole lot next test.

turned into a borefest now..all this is doing is playing the SA top order into form
instilling the confidence that was lacking
no way this pitch is doing any 180 in the next 5 sessions
i think it's almost a certainty SA win one of the next 2

Yes, reminiscent of Perth with nothing for the bowlers. With their two main strike bowlers absent it was logical for CSA to order a flat track but didn't expect it to be this bad.
Lick wounds and move on.

Much different scenario. The scores were virtually level & the greatest spinner ever was in action.

England are not going to leave anything tasty & even if England are bowled out for 200 there will not be much time left for SA to chase. Plus its still flat

Why Would he declare at all, why waste bowlers energy out for nothing, after having bowled a possible 200 overs plus.

Forget an England victory. SA have nearly mastered the art of playing long long innings. 184 overs and counting!

I have heard that the lack of water in the region has resulted in such a pitch. They are under level 2 water erestrictions since last month so I cant see how the ground could use a lot of water.
I have no clue how much this affects the pitch but this is one reason being given for such a pitch.

England at one point 1.57, now trading at 140!

It's not an overly dry pitch. Durban was and broke up very quickly. This one's held together very well. That indicates moisture.

It's just a belter. A one day pitch.

Shame about the 10 dropped catches though...

England a hundred light..Shocked

If England had held on to their catches, they would have been thinking about declaration in their second innings right now. Flat pitch or not, Stokes gave them a HUGE advantage and they have squandered it! Now in the field for 209 overs!!!

The comms said there was extra water sprinked at the end(because of the lack of water used 'during' preparation). This extra water has held the pitch together and stopped it from deteriorating. Thats what they say. SA pacers did a pretty good job getting the first 5 wickets. England was horrible.

Batting was at its hardest on the 1st day, not that it was particularly difficult then. 13 wickets in 4 days, although the fielding on both sides, has been awful.
