Clarke should step down after this game and give the new captain a chance for 5th test match
By:
The ball is still swinging around this morning, match could finish fairly quickly.
By:
Clarke deserves to finish the Tour. Never have liked him I have to say, still don't but he is the Captain and should be afforded some respect.
By:
and another Aussie, departs sadly to the pavilion.
By:
it's a real bonus to have Stokes in the side that would allow us to play two spinners particularly on the sub continent and WI now but we haven't got two front line spinners!

he looks shot doesnt he? i feel sorry for him, whats he done to be so unpopular in his own country? how long ago was it he got all those double centuries? i think the selectors should be gone as well. the team selection has been wrong all the way through. i know haddin's been treated badly, but shouldnt he have been dropped long before? making smith captain isnt going to improve the technic of the players is it? lets hope they can give us a grassy pitch at the oval
By:
how did that miss?
By:
8 down
By:
Had a crack at the pitch day one, may have only had one eye open
By:
did Hussey cut short his career because of Clarke?
By:
No
By:
am i right to expect us to get beaten up in the uae wd? last time, didnt we bowl alright but the batsmen continue the long tradition in english cricket of the collapse? i watched a couple of one day games on sky this week, i know its too early for them, but there are lots of young spinners coming through.

timber!!!

By:
Timber! One more and plenty of time to study the racing before the Man U Spurs game.
By:
Australia never had the fight
By:
even a 220 score 1st innings Australia would have been in game that was not a 60 all out pitch
By:
remember the invincibles Australia team batting lineup, hayden, langer, martyn, mark Waugh, steve Waugh, gilchrist they could all play on England pitches and could cope with the moving ball
By:
interesting to see Hazlewood and Lyon smiling at balls they know have beaten them all ends up. Powerless to do much except wait for the straight one to flatten their stumps.
By:
2 runs off the bat in 33 minutes.
By:
Not sure swag,
it's a wait and see. mystery spinners or " Chuckers " are not in vogue at present. should make for a fairer contest. could actually be a decent contest unlike this sheite! I am not into slaughter, even against Aussie. I like to watch a decent contest of bat and ball. even winning money seems to feel a little flat. I feel cheated. expected Aussie to fight. |

do fans get a refund for early finish on day 3

The Ashes are home, although they are always in England. Well played England.
By:
i can hardly believe what we have seen over these four tests. You're right wd, there has been no ebb and flower, as has been pointed out whoever got on top stayed on top. We should remember that as bad as aus have been its not quite as bad as our last 5 - 0 humiliation. can we expect some kim hughes style upset from clarke? please give us a grassy pitch at the oval.

well done to Captain Cook,
He must have come back from some very dark places! Again not my choice for Captain but showed some steel. |
By:
I take it there won't be a beer match for the spectators!

A memorable day already. Lets hope that the Oval test rubs it in again.

By:
Rule Britannia - Didn't think they still played that in PC England
By:
They should have a beer match between the barmies and fanatics so the drinking can go on. would be a laugh and they should show it live on sky! People might then have a clue as to how good some of these professional cricketers are.

Is there really any need for "the men in black" following the England team round the field.

bring on south africa
By:
I think they should be presenting the Ashes today. It's stupid to wait until the next game, especially if Australia win it.

Gracious speech from Clarke. Love him or hate him at least he gives credit when it is due.
