England being too cavalier and are in danger of leaving the door open for Australia...same old problem of wanting to hit 4 off every ball.

watch Broad score 100

Australia need to bat big 500 2nd innings then they can win

By:
australia better off scoring slow 2nd innings to frustrate England bowlers making them do the mistakes
|
|
By:
England will just bowl line and length and with movement off the pitch and some swing, I can't see Australia, scoring more than 350, which they are still very unlikely to do
|
|
By:
Keep dreaming slip5 - this lot have got no chance of making 500 in their second innings.

Aussie's to prove a point and get 300-3 off 350 overs

pxb 07 Aug 15 02:59 If the wicket remains good for the next 3 days, Aus still in with a slim chance if they can knock over England for not too many more. Their top order capable of making a big score on a batting friendly wicket. I haven't bought back my Aus lay and I thought this scenario entirely possible if the sun came out and the wicket flattened. Tomorrow should be sunny too. Aus bat 4 sessions and they have 400 by end of play tomorrow. If they could set a total in excess of 150 I thought they may have some sort of opening. The Aussie top 3 can all make big runs, Clarke has made big runs and if all the ducks were in a row it would be possible but to be fair even if you can ignore the fact the ball is reversing today they do not seem to have the wherewithall to put anything together. If anyone thinks this match marks their nadir I personally though The Lords Test in the last series was the low point when Twatto foolishly wasted another review on his statutory lbw then Rogers did not review his dismissal which was a full toss over waist height and missing completely by several inches. Boof came in after that and steadied the ship smashing England last winter and winning the World Cup. Aus have a battery of decent fast bowlers and will be intimidating at home for some time. As many have seen today Starc is quality, proper quality. He will develop further. The batting is obviously a big area of weakness but Aussie supremacy was built around the Botox Buffoon Warne, like him or not one of the greatest cricketers ever and Pidgeon. Ok Ponting was great but the others were all half a foot taller playing on generally flat wickets and against weaker bowling attacks. They had good batsmen yes but their current crop are very ordinary. |

England batting not much better than Aus this morning. New ball likely to finish them off quickly.

I've just had a few quid on the Draw at 95. Not for a moment do I think it will be but if Aussies do make a fight of it then surely draw odds will come in quite a bit.

I would love to see some stats of how many wickets fall in each session of test matches in England over the years. I reckon that at least half of wickets fall in the morning session despite the fact that the higher order batsmen are in on Day 1. Why batsmen don't make much better use of the third session when batting is always at its easiest is a mystery. Why use a night watchman?

Do you really think that it could take 3 days and 2 sessions to take another 12 wickets?

johnnythebull 07 Aug 15 11:54 the 'enforcer' to get his maiden test century to really cap things off?Grin Johhny, I think " The best white ball bowler in the world " had a big hundred against Pakistan unless that match was voided for their spot fixing. |

No. But odds are down to 75 now for no good reason. A good start by Aussies and odds will be a lot less. If I'm wrong then I haven't lost the crown jewels.

yep 169! but it shouldn't count IMHO
! Lost money on that game I recall! Paks were winning and let Braod get those runs |

Well done YO.
I agree with you cn2. I expect us to win by an innings. |

The draw backers must think that Ali and Broad can bat all day and Cook will not have the courage to declare.

Don't be silly, there's still Finn.

australia batsman need to play county cricket, look at the invincible aussie team, mark Waugh, steve Waugh, slater, hayden, all played county cricket to adjust to England pitches
|
|
By:
Amazing! An Aussie can take a catch.
|
|
By:
Still sticking to my prediction that we will be bowling before lunch.
|
|
By:
David Warner needs to sign a county cricket contract and whoever else going to be in that aussie batting lineup, if australia want to win series in England again
|
|
By:
I think australia batsman need to forget about the riches in ipl for a year or 2 and play some domestic cricket in England
|
|
By:
Is anyone bold enough to predict this could be over by the end of today?
|
|
By:
possible australia 150 all out today

Odds for game lasting beyond tomorrow at least 12.0

Didn't think he would declare but well done. The new Aussie coach has certainly changed the outlook.

Betfair should put up a market to see if this match will go beyond Day 2 ;)

but a good dec |

By:
if Aussies 7 down by the end of tonight, England will maybe push for the extra half an hour
|
|
By:
If England get get a wicket, before lunch then it could be over today, but tomorrow morning/afternoon the most likely, as I think Australia, will be bowled out for around 300.
