England's highest opening stand of the series!
The bounce isn't tennis ball, Aussie dropping catches, big chance for England here to change the momentum. |
|
By:
impressive that he realised it wasn't going to carry to clarke

Tough tough chances. And there will be plenty more of them.

Doesn't the batsman have to be ready when the bowler is? Never understood the umpire sticking his arm out waiting for the batsman...
|
|
By:
David Shepherd used to carry a spare arm when Tavare was batting.

you facking plum carberry. calm down.

Change of luck here for England.
See Johnsalez off and batting becomes pleasant. Beautiful pitch to bat on by the look of it. |

6 overs in the half an hour before lunch, 6 overs in the half an hour after. I don't see you moaning about Australia breaking the rules as you said England were with their slow over rate BJT?

I think a lot of people have been a bit premature here, rightly I suppose but England are not a sheite side, just playing sheite. There is a difference. This luck thing is crazy. It is still pretty hot even with a breeze.
|
|
By:
And I think 50 runs is a bit premature to be declaring them a decent side.

Did I just see Cook moves his front foot outside the line of off stump?
Ominous! They can all play themselves into form on this pitch. Interesting to see if they go after Lyon now. |

Cook been doing it since his first go as captain. Got fined there, nothing changed since, and gets away with it constantly.

|

Not like you to have some poor excuse BJT. Haddin stopping play yesterday for a drink didn't slow the over rate don though?

I post on specials more than cricket nowadays as cricket forum has gone to the dogs.
I have posted a few times this series, tends to get lost in the sh1t on here though |

So there was what. 27-28 minutes before lunch. 1 hour 16 minutes since. 104 minutes, 24 overs. 1/6 overs spin, 4.33 minutes per over.
England 4.48 minutes per over with 21% overs spin. I realise maths isn't probably your strong suit, but looks to me like Aus are getting through their overs faster with less spin, even taking into account starting just before lunch, and then restarting again. |

If England are 2-200 at close of play, the legions of England fans will be back on this forum only to magically dissapear when things go pear shaped
