No way, get them in before lunch and have 5-6 overs at least at them.  Nothing scenario for England, have to survive it, and then start again.  Not enough time for them to get in, plenty of time for them to get out.

emm, I very much doubt whether England will get 250 on this wicket, as they bat traditionally poorly at Perth and I could see a couple of early wickets falling, by luch or just after.

England will do well to bat out the whole day today, could easily seem them being bowled out by tonight

This is going to be worse than Dr Who but I have got a huge cushion now.

I think a lot will depend on Root and Carberry hanging around for as long as possible.  I'd rather see Root come in front of Cook but it won't happen. I hope England remember to rotate the strike.  There will be plenty of easy runs as I am sure Clarke will have cohorts in the umbrella.  England must leave anything wide and climb into anything full until they have fully played themselves in.

I dont think this is a wicket u can hang around, its either u score runs or get out. Plodding around at 2.50 an over is impossible'

And with the way Cook walked out to face up, would nearly put money on a run out as the first wicket.

Hoping we see 4.00 on them.  Johnson speed down a bit so far though and ball doesn't appear to have the usual zing off the wicket.

Bit of movement there.  Johnson just needs to relax and get his movement right.

Think Cook goes just after lunch.  Been out in the field all day yesterday, and spent too much time concentrating on what he would do with the bat this morning rather than getting them out.  Now he has to relax, and get his mind ready again.  Don't think he is up to it, and Johnson/Harris will both be calmed down now and come out relaxed and ready to go.

Looks like a cracking pitch!

Plenty of runs to be had.  Both batsmen seem to be moving into line. Big session coming up.  Will be good to see England apply some pressure and see how Aussie cope with it.  The pitch should help any batting side and England have the players in KP and Bell to score big runs, hopefully tomorrow!

i don't fancy a lay of england.

the prices in this match are loaded up with very strong sentiment: that mitch will be unplayable, that the perth record will repeat.

you're hoping that the match will unfold the way the market believes it to, so there's little value to be had.

Not all about the Perth record.  It is about the England team.  They haven't made a score since New Zealand series, and coming off 3 sub 200 scores, coming to a pitch that they haven't won on in 35 years.
Plenty more to it than Johnson, and as I have stated already, Johnson and Harris, took 18 out of the 20 wickets last time they played here.

I do think the pitch is playing better though, and I certainly haven't got a lay of England at the moment.  As always, I don't carry a position into the next innings if I can help it, because it is always worth a look how each team are performing in each discipline.  I actually layed Aus at 1.55 early in the innings due to how everything looked.  Well out of that position now, and I will reassess again after lunch.  Still think likely that England lose a few in this session, and Cooks mind will be weary, and think he is least likely to make runs.
Reassess when they come back out.
