i think and i may be wrong, but many of those who appear to be defending him are in fact attacking either the bbc for their inconsistencies and their quick decision to sack him, or they are having a go at the twitter loons who will leap upon any perceived injustice and start a petition

he made a mistake, pretty obvious it would not end well if he'd thought about it, his defence is he didn't think about it

How do you think the BBC is funded? Who pays for the programming and wages?

Licence fee payers .
But you seem to be under the impression that licence fee payers will be receiving some sort of rebate as a direct result of Mr Baker's sacking .
Personally , and I may be wrong , I don't believe they will so I'm struggling to see how the licence fee payer is going to be any better off Confused

you are wrong and you have been talking like an idiot throughout this thread!

Are you really stupid? I don't think so. Give it up. The idiot has even been found to have tweeted about the baby a couple of days before his monkey tweet!

Whisperingdeath - You clearly stated that those who fund the BBC "will no longer continue to be fleeced" . Your words .
All I'm saying is that those licence fee tax payers will continue to be fleeced regardless of the sacking of Danny Baker .
I'm correct , you are incorrect , for all your insane rantings about anyone holding a differing view on this subject to yourself being an 'idiot' .
Crazy

The Beeb have always been a bit wary of heterosexual non Oxbridge white presenters, and being a Milwall supporter probably meant he had
a red mark against his name.
I agree he was an egotistical ****, but his program was still the best thing on 5 live.

An OUTRAGE(the fave word of the times) said the BBC news last night, no an outrage is the bombing of innocent men, women and children in Yeaman by the Saudis using weapons sold to them by the UK amongst others like the U.S. an outrage never mentioned by the dear old BBC

"Making an admittedly pathetic and tasteless joke about the skin colour of Meghan Markle is regarded as a sacking offence"
"But a prime minister who takes the country to war on a pack of lies, aiding and abetting the deaths of around 1,000,000 people mostly with brown skin doesn't stop that person appearing on the BBC as a self-appointed "expert" on any number of subjects"
"Who has caused real harm-Danny,the tasteless comic,or Tony Blair in the real world of life and death?Remember too Blair has never apologised for his "mistakes",he still tell us he did the right thing.

The lad should step up and demand a criminal investigation into the minister who leaked the report from the NSC. Both have received the same punishment yet the crimes are so different.

police investigating now.Baker is a clown but its not a criminal matter.

In your mind it is not a criminal matter . Nor in my mind or the minds of any normal , sane , right-minded individuals . Unfortunately legislation has been put in place by people who are not in their right minds , in order to control and eventually curtail , freedom of speech , freedom of expression and ultimately , freedom of thought .
For a real crime to have been committed it requires a victim who , as a direct result of that crime , had suffered either loss , harm or injury . Injury can be either physical or psychological (which by it's very nature is subjective) .
Here we have a perceived crime for which there is no loss no harm and no identifiable injury . Furthermore there is no specific victim .
Clearly no crime has been committed and yet our police are empowered to 'investigate' . Regardless of the increasing volume of crimes that involve genuine loss , harm and injury (including murder at the hands of gun and knife-crazed lunatics still at large , this crime would appear to have taken priority . Even if our police had cleared every outstanding case on their books and were sat on their backsides awaiting the next gang-related stabbing , there would still be no justification whatsoever for them to look into the actions of Mr Baker .
Whoops

But there has been a crime,a Hate crime,so here comes the Hate Police. Its a sign of the times baby.
By:

'Hate' is not a crime according to our constitution .
It is a very negative emotion which in itself is not criminal . If ones 'hate' causes one to commit a crime then that is a different matter but to criminalise an emotion is the stuff of an Orwellian nightmare .

So the police are now involved. What a ****ing JOKE, but we are a joke society now, so what else do we expect.
We don't really have a constitution. But yes we are already becoming pretty orwellian. "Thought crime" is coming.

A few months ago remembe the police somewhere were asking people go to them not if a crime was commited, but just if people were in some way "offended" by a tweet. (While at the same time they are saying they are underresourced). It makes you want to bang your head off the wall if you think about the sorts of people who are given responsibility.

terry - spot on about Blair and the BBC's hypocrisy. It seems you can kill thousands of dark skinned people and get away with it. Make a silly joke and you get the sack and the Old Bill on your doorstep.

I would add Cameron to the ever increasing list of sadists. He along with Obama led Libya into civil war and a trading route for people traffickers. I heard one BBC commentator suggest Barack for a name for the new royal baby Crazy

Very sad.

what a complete and utter waste of police time, it's beyond a joke now, real crimes going on all the time and yet this gets looked at despite no crime being committed.

much ado about nothing here, just because some white libtards have taken offence it's created a mountain out of a molehill

there is something deeply wrong in this country, common sense just doesn't exist any more

Try to get the police out if your house has been burgled.
Involving themselves in this is just madness.
A stupid post but no doubt a few rushed to complain to the police.

Reynard, don't know if you remember a few months ago,an elderly lady was at a petrol station and she was kept waiting by the car in front to get out (we all get peed off by that)so the old lady toots the car in front, have a guess what happens next!
Ok,i will tell you,it turns out the woman driving the car in front is a black lady, who then phones a special number which goes to a new unit which deals with "hate crimes".The "hate police" arrive, arrest the old lady and given a caution, you cant make this b0llox up,and honestly i havent.

Reynard,

I don't know if you remember but a bloke called Steven Lawrence was waiting at a bus stop minding his own business and he got stabbed and killed because he was black. The Police when asked to investigate not only did nothing but protected his killers. You can't make this stuff up!

Whisperingdeath ,

I don't know if you remember but a young man called Kris Donald was abducted , raped , tortured and murdered (burnt alive) by a gang of 'asian' men in Glasgow because he was caucasian . The media failed to give this crime the coverage it warranted simply because the victim was white and the perpetrators were from a protected ethnic minority . You can't make this stuff up !
