That's a good point re lord sugar poppy. Imo, I certainly don't think he intended anything other than the posh side of the 'baby' leaving the hospital, but in this day and age, people need to be extra vigilant what they post as they are stalking and waiting for the next person to get the boot for posting anything that could be deemed offensive to the liberal masses. In no way am I surprised, this was headline news on BBC news at 6. Be right up their street. A lot worse going on that hardly bother mentioning.

As for Danny Baker, quite like him on the few occasions I've seen him on TV and really liked that comedy he wrote regarding his upbringing ghat had Peter Kay playing his Dad. Thought that was excellent.

And that's the most important word "Deemed" . Offence is now legally subjective Crazy

you just have to laugh, the Sugar tweet is about 1000 times worse and yet nothing was made of it and he's still on the payroll

some people are beyond reproach, others are just easy targets

if I was Baker I would be going for unfair dismissal, I don't see how he can lose

There was an opinion poll the other day that a large proportion of people want a "strong" leader in the UK who isn't afraid to "offend" people and the BBC seemed quite disgusted by this. I'm not sure they are remotely aware of their own part in the problem, their constant obsession with feeding the "offence" machine, their own in built urge to even not show a chimpanzee in a suit jacket in case it "offends" people. People are heartily sick of PC crap being rammed down their throat and the BBC are right at the front of it, leading in winding people up...

Has anyone from the BBC found out if the chip was male, female, or self identified as some other gender?

That was ridiculous not showing the pic. I think this was done for people to think it must have been a lot worse than it was. Could they not have come out with the usual bullsh1t, that some viewers may find the pictures distressing!

It's easy for the chimps, they only have 7 possible gender identifications to choose from.

HGS, in BBC/Guardian/SJW eyes if you remotely offend someone in the slightest most pathetic way, it makes you a fascist who agrees with SS death camps.

They don't want this accusation thrown at them.

What sort of mind is a BBC News Editor required to possess these days, in order to make an editorial decision NOT to show a photo of a chimpanzee dressed up like a toff?

Given that the photograph appears to have been taken in the 1940s or 50s, I think it is safe to assume the chimp is dead, the chimp can't sue, or even express any condemnation over Twitter.  The chimp can't even enjoy a gold-plated, taxpayer-funded, legal challenge by employing a Chancer Human Rights Lawyer to protest 'hurt feelings".

Is there ANYONE who can explain WHY the ludicrous decision was taken?

Who really cares. Some of you should be pleased the BBC you hate is not going to waste money on him anymore. He is boring and a bore. If he didn't know his post was going to cause offence to some then he is an idiot and deserves to go.

Now he wants to make a full public apology. Perhaps those of you defending his actions should think about that. He is either a liar or cack sucker, good riddance!

and for the record I found the photo more than amusing but he should have known the legitimate offence it would cause to many.

If you think he meant to cause racial offence imo you are a bigger idiot than Danny Baker.
By:

When: 10 May 19 14:03
Well that's my thoughts Clydebank. I doubt he meant to be racist as you'd have to be incredibly stupid to do that in 2019, but it's very obvious why it could be interpreted as racist. But his attempts to cover it up by saying he didn't know much about the baby or that it was technically mixed race etc just come across as pathetic and dishonest.

I'm so tired of the permanent state of outrage the media/political bubble is in now in about anything on "social media", the lynch mobs, the lack of forgiveness or to accept there may be a more innocent explanation, the hysterical OTT media and political overreactions, and people getting fired or even arrested for nonsense. It's pathetic. It's hard to conclude society is a better place than it was before it was invented, quite the opposite.
