I genuinely don’t think he realised the connotations as I don’t think he would have made such a crass ‘joke’ But he should have realised that not every one would get the ‘royals as circus performers’ angle.
Slightly sickening that the BBC has shut down all debate on this and taken the moral high ground given their record. Anyone who’s ever had any dealings with the corporation will tell you what a thoroughly corrupt, sleazy and racist organisation it is. |
