An incredible over reaction, even by BBC/ SJW standards. A new low has been created that this has been dealt with with all sincerity by such people.

It's a day later and I still can't get over the BBC censoring that photo of a chimp in a suit.
I just can't imagine what level of stupidity they have in their management, it's a new low.
If someone on here posted that image on the "historical photos of interest" thread the betfair forum censors would wave it through without a thought and people would look at that and thinkg "lol that's a bit silly". It's not an offensive or racist image and if you are offended or "triggered" by seeing it you need to grow up. The BBC is such a self righteous pillar of Political Correctness...

.. and the thing is they didn't just NOT show it, they showed it "censored" and made a big thing of saying they'd censored it to not offend us, as if this was some sort of noble gesture by them. I wonder if anyone in their newsroom was embarrassed by this, or they have all completed the brainwashing course?

Grovelling is just part and parcel of the world of work imo.

i'd imagine he's not expecting his job back but that he can salvage something of a tv/radio career elsewhere when the dust settles

Sign of the times - every half-wit in the world now has a platform of some kind on social media.

If you choose to live like a half-wit on twitter, you can't really complain when you then get tried and sentenced by other half-wits on twitter imo.

By definition it is the haunt of shallow tw@ts that are desperate for attention - I guess he got some attention though.

I make mistakes at work on a regular basis. I apologise, make amends if needed and move on.

And by 'move on' I don't mean seek other work. I mean carry on as usual. All this sacking garbage is pathetic.

Injera - that's in the real world - this happened on twitter, it's not the real world.

He interviewed Ronnie O'Sullian when he was a kid, talked to him about his talent and what his hopes were for the future, 1 question was "how big do you want to be when you're older"

"5ft 10" Ronnie repliedLaugh

Baker grinned but you could see he was slightly annoyed thinking he'd just be done by a cocky little kid, but Ronnie genuinely thought he meant how big as in height.

what he won't want is to be hated by the general public and be labelled a racist

the royalists will hate him for taking the pish, monkeys will hate him, black people could hate him, the royal couple will definitely hate him, the twitter hysteria crowd will hate him and those that think he should stick two fingers up but doesn't have the b@lls will hate him, people who dress like toffs might hate him and prince phillip will probably try and shoot him

and his defenders on here should hate him for capitulating being a liar and cack sucker! What a pathetic news story.

In the end good triumphed. Another idiot off the radio and tax payers not continuing to be being fleeced. Some of you people should be embarrassed for defending him! Total loser supported by losers!

In his business you probably need to use SM to help maintain your profile.  Particularly someone like Danny Baker who's "talent" is being loud and mildly controversial.  He made a gaffe, quickly apologised and removed said tweet when he realised his error.  It's a non story, made a story.  He's not my cup of tea as an entertainer, always found him a little annoying personally, loud rather than particularly talented, but I think he's dealt with the incident, post gaffe very well.  He's been successful, has his audience and will work again.

if he had dealt with it well he wouldn't have been sacked ffs!

What a bunch of planks you people are to come on here try to defend him and then add in he is not my cup of tea! He is not my cup of coffee no milk either! He is a twaitte. He got rumbled. Move on! Losers!

He lied and you lot tried to defend him!

Doh! What a bunch of monkeys!

like Chris Evans, was loud, shouted a lot, energetic, but no actual talent. Having said that had millions of radio listeners, not sure if that's just BBC Radio 1 loyalty to whoever presents or they liked him.

I did not see what he posted, but from the description and for the BBC not to even show it on tv can only be something incredibly offensive and disrespectful to the Royal couple; a sacking is the very minimum. I think he ought to consider himself fortunate not to be charged with posting an offensive and potentially racist image not acceptable from a BBC personnel whose salary is paid by the tax-payers.

I believe his sacking is wholly justified. I also hope he accepts it, and try not to trivialise it as something unintentional or personal to the Royal couple.
