is this government incapable of common decency
is that what you are implying? |
By:
wd there is no need to become abusive i am merely saying could they have gone to some other dreamy country such as Russia and China... no ? they came to Britain, they should be thankful whats wrong with that? |
By:
They were invited here lfc!
Did you know that or not? many had British passports! They lived in dreamy countries! Have you ever been to Jamaica or Barbados? You are making ignorant comments that deserve to be replied to in language you understand. These people have worked here all their adult lives and they are being treated worse than criminals. Have you no decency lfc? Have you any idea of the letters they have sent to these people? |
By:
they were not invited here, they had the right to come here that is not the same thing
Irish people had the right to come here, they weren't invited either, still do I don't agree with that either |
By:
then you have no idea what you are talking about like I said before IGNORANT!
By:
Wisperingdeath- I admire your tenacity in trying to engage in an educated debate with the likes of lfc1971.
Sadly he cannot deal in facts and prefers to let prejudice and ignorance guide his thoughts. He cannot see both sides to a story, he takes a position and sticks to it, no matter how weak his argument. |
By:
How can Amber Rudd get away with not resigning over this?
The Labour Party is so weak due to its anti-Semitism (and other) policies it is not even calling for Rudd to go. |
By:
politics is f*cked
By:
Seriously though.
Where is the responsibility? She is running the department. She either does not know what is going on so is incompetent or she was in on it. Either way she has to go. |
By:
The news cycle moves so fast they can ride it out for a couple of days and carry on as normal.
By:
She shouldn't go, the policy is right but there may have been incompetence in implementing it. So it is about fixing the problem
typical of people today wanting to find a scapegoat instead of fixing the problem |
By:
I agree.
I honestly think it's all broken. I know you might disagree but I think it simply goes back to Brexit. Two ways. Firstly, it opened a new door in the ability of politicians (on both sides of the argument) to lie with impunity. They've always been pretty loose with how they interpret data to suit their argument but suddenly outright lies were permissible. The proper press got itself locked into tribalism so it wouldn't hold an argument to account if they were on the same side, and we've seen the spread of social networks where there are no journalistic standards to be followed and they just scream fake news at anything they don't like and the whoppers lap it up. Secondly, I think we've reached a pivotal point where Labour and the Tories don't represent what they used to. Brexit is huge. It's all-encompassing. How can you possibly be a Labour party that aspires to represent working class voters but is happy to restrict them and support a path that pretty much everyone of any standing believes is going to hit the traditional working class areas hardest. How can the tories aspire to be the party of business, of open markets, of aspiration when it is following a path that moves away from all those things? So yeah, f*cked. That new centrist party looks pretty daft but I can see a near future where the parties either adapt and become pro/anti Europe and all that stands for or be replaced by new ones who represent those views. Because little else matters right now. |

By:
I,ve heard everything now, its because of brexit
![]() |
By:
you have to ask why do some people want to concentrate on finding a scapegoat, asking someone to resign instead of looking at what happened and why and fixing it
well its possible they don't want the problem to be fixed, you will have to ask yourself why |
By:
so yes things are in a mess, and when you look for the reasons you have only to read some of the drivel written by people like pineapple
By:
now something seems to have gone wrong, it is most probably a small number of cases and mistakes
look at what they are and fix them, people make mistakes, that's life |
By:
I think it is deeper than Brexit.
Blair lied about Iraq and got away with it. Going right back for centuries where politicians have lied to get their way e.g the USA takeover of Texas from Mexico on a false flag. The difference now is it can be exposed. For instance the Windrush generation can publish on social media in the past the government could just down play it. In the past only the press could expose what it wanted to expose. It could keep secret what it wanted to keep secret. So more is out there now. But at the same time the politicians keep messing things up and lying. The clincher is the public have such short attention spans so no one is held to account. Rudd is terribly clueless and incompetent yet seems to always keep her job. Dianne Abbott was running the Home Office now she would have destroyed by this. But for Rudd... nothing. |
By:
Now if someone can tell me what Amber Rudd has done wrong, what mistakes she has made that's a fine, maybe she should go
what mistakes has she made?.... |
By:
lets see...
By:
Its not about having a scrapegoat it is about people being accountable and their being consequences for bad performance.
If no one is accountable there is zero incentive for people to perform. |
By:
Rudd has run a department that wrongly deported British citizens.
By:
what mistakes has Amber Rudd made, that was the question
By:
Yep, I'd agree it's social media itself more than Brexit. I think to my eyes, that was the first time it was utilised and harnessed properly.
By:
Rudd has run a department that has failed to cut immigration to the 10s of thousands.
Rudd created a system where the fall out will be we will now struggle to deport illegal immigrants. |
By:
now if you are a plumber and by your own incompetence you do something wrong you are responsible
that's right, there is personal responsibility its not the bosses fault you get retrained or possibly sacked |
By:
the policy she is responsible for, yes that is her responsibility and the governments
that policy is right now what has she done wrong , what mistakes has she made? |
By:
now if a plumber can be responsible for his incompetence, so can a civil servant
By:
or do you not want the problem to be fixed, do you want mistakes not to be addressed do you not want the plumber to be retrained
or do you have your own reasons not to want to fix the problem |
By:
So that's` fine, once again if Rudd has made mistakes she should possibly go
What are they? |
By:
Jewish leaders have said that Corbyn has failed to act against Labour anti Semitism
Now that is something that Corbyn is personally responsible for Will we have Pineapple, or Eboue or any of the usual suspects calling for Corbyn to be go or to be sacked Or will they be happy that he remains and stays in his well paid job and continue to support him and vote for him If they do they should pipe down about racism |
By:
If it's proven that Corbyn turned a blind eye or encouraged anti-semitism then I'd happily call for him to go. Think he should be gone anyway given his performance since the election.
By:
pineapple there has been a proven increase in anti Semitism from within the labour party since Corbyns election as leader and Jewish leaders have said he has failed to act
Would you be prepared to vote labour with Corbyn as leader? |
By:
Buy your appraisal of Amber Rudds responsibilities, he is responsible
By:
Not just of incompetence, but worse, of allowing this rise of anti semitic racism to rise under his watch
By:
So the question is
Would you vote labour with Corbyn as pm |
By:
Its quite a simple question
yes or no? |
By:
there has been a proven increase in anti Semitism from within the labour party since Corbyns election as leader
proven by who lfc? What was it before and what is it now? As for how I would vote I'd do what I always do. Weigh up the policies and personalities in the build up and vote for whichever party or candidate I then prefer. |
By:
A few days ago the leadership of Britains biggest jewish groups organised an unprecedented demonstration outside parliament, accusing Jeremy Corbyn of turning a blind eye to the rise of anti Semitism within the labour party
Has this ever happened before if you doubt the rise in racism Now we know that you could always vote for someone , whoever that was not the question the question was Would you be prepared to vote for Labour with Corbyn as leader |
By:
lfc waffle waffle , the usual biased garbage
By:
Yes we would
