''Who is this person at the end of the day''?
Yeah, how much did he spend on time and money researching this? Deffo a facial expression reaction to the mention of Birch's name there! But hey, good to see Kate leaving no stone (or drive) unturned! |

The case was on This Morning. Mark Williams Thomas mentioned Madelaine asking Kate where her parents were they night before.
Looks like his theory is that she got out by the patio doors and went looking for them at the tapas bar but got lost and then who knows. They could not go into too much detail for legal reasons. |
|

so he basicaly thinks the tapas 9 lying through their teeth, wonder why, what they hiding

By:
the mcaans release a statement saying there baffled by this theory and claim the lokes just trying to make a name for himself, why would you be baffled by a perfectly plausible theory, unless of course you no what happened, most people are baffled by the intruder, abduction theory
|
|
By:
He clearly is trying to cash in.
And as for it being "a perfectly plausible theory" it is an incredibly unbalanced account, presented as a fact rather than a theory. Grotesquely unfair and unreasonable from a man in his situation. |
|
By:
And Mark Williams Thomas was always one of their staunchest defenders .....
He was always on hand for media talking head spots , where he would theorize about 'the abductor' From what i recall the first point he seemed to waver was when the McCanns released the 'Lolita Maddie' photo , which was an eye opener for a lot of people (what kind of people think this is normal ? ) Subsequently he revised the abduction from the apartment theory to this 'wandered off and maybe abducted' This theory is even lamer : Madeleine gets out of the apartment and the only person who happens to see her is by chance a predatory paedophile Now the McCanns have turned on him maybe he will be less inclined to absolve them of any involvement |
|
By:
It was a statement relseased by Clarence mitchell which said they wont be dignfying it with a reponse, that's not turning on anyone, they were best friends. It's just stating the obvious, why would they make comment on just another theory by someone determined to latch himself on to the case for his own benefit. What are they supposed to say.

In the helen bailey case that concluded today it's interesting that much relevance was placed on the 999 call that ian stewart made where he spoke of bailey in the past tense. at the time he was reporting her missing.
mccanns also use the past tense - a lot. |
|
By:
mostb startling new in this theory is that you had to leave the complex thriugh a gate to get to the restraunt,i alaways thought it was a 100 yds away in same area
|
|
By:
Mark Williams Thomas has said this before - that abduction from inside the apartment was unlikely. Don't know why he's being portrayed as some sort of opportunist he's just a journalist doing his job like everyone else. Let's not forget Williams Thomas was largely responsible for outing Sir Jimmy Savile - the BBC wanted nothing to do with the story and he had to go to ITV.
This anger from the McCanns is so typical. They will not hear of any theory other than an abductor entered the apartment and took the child. The reason for this is that it is the theory that takes most blame off them. |
|
By:
'On that morning of Madeleine's disappearance, we do know she went to [her parents] Gerry and Kate and said: 'Where were you last night?' he explained.
"We know"? Well it's part of the McCanns' version of events. He's no Richard D Hall, is he? |

I watched the Peter Falconio case on Crimes That Shook Australia case last week. Because of the high exposure of the case the press were full of unsubstantiated accusations that Joanne Lees killed him, mostly because they didn't like the way she spoke in interviews and her lack of willing to be interviewed, including some of the police officers on the case. Amazingly, one of the journos still refused to acknowledge she was innocent, despite cast iron forensic evidence that convicted the thug that killed him.

Re: Joanne Lees
"She insisted, [the prosecutor] said, on absolute control of her image, including refusing to walk in through the court’s front doors and instead chos[ing] to lie down under a jacket on the back seat of a car. ‘She was focused and completely cool and people might misread that and misunderstand that. People want some sympathy and tears and some lowering of the guard.’ Which was Lindy Chamberlain’s and Kate McCann’s failing too – cold and calculating, not distraught but if that was their nature before, they could hardly change it after, except by putting on an act. If you’re not nice, you’re just not nice. " |
|
By:
maybe they'll find someone else responsible like they did in the falconio case. but here 10 years on there's noone in sight...
|
|
By:
It was probably Joanne's calmness under pressure that saved her life. Had she been distraught and highly emotional she'd almost certainly be dead.
It is fair to say she showed little emotion over Peter's demise and seemed almost wholly preoccupied in defending herself and her rights. More so than the McCanns imo. |

Police are searching for a resort worker who they claim 'kept secrets' from them during the initial investigation into Madeleine McCann's disappearance.
An insider has revealed officers are searching for a Portuguese man who was nearby when the three-year-old went missing while on holiday in the Ocean Club resort in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in 2007. A Portuguese police source told the Daily Mirror: ‘This Portuguese man used to work at the club resort, he speaks a bit of English. ‘British officers are convinced he knows more than he was saying and are very keen to question him. ‘They are not suggesting he stole Maddie, but he may know people who could have been involved after a burglary went wrong. 'Burglary gone wrong' ![]() £11 Million to come up with this. Imagine if these clowns went to Hollywood and tried to pitch this crap as a movie script for £11M..... 'Okay , so the burglars get into the apartment ,they start looking around for phones and laptops and stuff , but then they find there are 3 kids aged under 4 ! And so the burglary 'goes wrong' because these kids could stop them burgling by ...er .....um ....... anyway now that the burglary has gone wrong they need to get away ASAP . So the best thing they can think of is to grab the 3 year old and carry her screaming through the streets because that makes it easier for them to , erm , and less conspicuous , well ,maybe , erm ![]() |

An alleged attempted abduction of a child by a 'maid', who allegedly was back working at a resort in Cyprus despite allegedly having been sacked two years earlier following an "incident". Funnily enough, no name given for the maid and no arrest made... |

McCann defenders always struggle with the difference between evidence and proof.
There is plenty of evidence against them in the dozen or more things inconsistent with their supposed innocence that cannot be explained away . |
|
By:
Scandi seems to think it's his duty to defend the McCanns, not sure why.
Spot on with the evidence/proof thing. I'm kinda on the side of abduction but by no means certain in my mind given the contradictions and evidence. |
|
By:
tober, unless you have any concrete proof they are involved, there is not plenty of evidence at all of any real meaning, if there was they would be in prison.
|
|
By:
theres 1000,s of guilty people walking the streets with police not looking for anyone else for the crimes, because although theres plenty of evidence just not enough
|
|
By:
And it's not that I am a McCann defender because I can't remember screaming from the rooftops they are innocent, because I don't know which is the point, either do you, people who out and out accuse them of being directly involved just use the case as an opportunity to beat them with the moral stick to make them feel righteous and look a better parent "look at me I would never leave my kids alone".
