I don't know of any cases LFC. I am offering you my opinion as a father. I think many many other fathers feel the same as me. I don't know if you are a father LFC but when you have a child it changes a person - you will do anything to protect or help them. I think this is why many many parents are suspicious of the Mccanns. I would take a lie detector test, a truth drug, hypnosis, any test at all if it had a one in a million chance of helping.

and what if it hindered the case, because if you are innocent it will not help the case.

Can I ask if you are a father LFC?
By:
lfc1971

it could very well have a chance of hindering the case

that is why if you are guilty you should take it

torque if you want to have any possibility of looking at this case you will have to think logically.
try to forget emotions and feelings

The case is 10 years old. Gerry taking those tests could hardly hinder the investigation. The investigation has already failed. I word take every test possible for that one chance it might help.
By:

it could hinder the investigation if he failed it, it will not help the investigation if he passes, how could it?
By:

When: 01 Apr 17 09:25
The investigation has failed LFC. Taking any of the tests mentioned could not possibly hinder the investigation now. It could however discover something that might help.
By:
lfc1971
When: 01 Apr 17 09:32
I don't see how it helps if Gerry passes or fails the lie detector test

a `truth drug` I am not sure such things exist

hypnosis has never be used to allow someone to remember anything as far as I know?

now if anyone on this thread believes the McCanns to be guilty...
where are the facts.
name them, describe the evidence, not opinions, just the facts
and the evidence.
thankyou

I've only posted on this fred once before, and that was to say, I once left my baby daughter in my car (locked) right outside my local newsagent, and was in there all of 50 odd seconds, when I returned to the car, I was overtaken by an enormous sense of guilt and careless stupidity, and never repeated it. Sounds a bit daft I know, but the idea of leaving children of any age to go to a restaurant, no matter how near, and for a meal and drinks is quite beyond my comprehension, even looking in every 10 minutes (not the case) doe's not cut it for me

I don't have any idea what happened, any more than the opposing opinions above, other than the cold fact that a child has (most probably) been murdered murdered, and she is the one and only true victim here. Judgemental??? yes isn't that what separates from the other species!!

no bygone, it is the ability to think rationally, and logically , and with empathy and with understanding and to tame our baser instincts in favour of calm and kind and careful way of thinking.
There's are the things that seperate us a little from the animals.

now someone's child disappears from their car, and they are accused of murder ?
that seems to be the more relevant thing in your post .

Fair point mate, No, they don't, get accused of murder, Just child neglect, possible  ostracization from some/most? family, friends, and neigbours, and if you're a half decent human being/parent a lifetime of regret and guilt.

I have no opinions on The McCanns, and what they might or not not be doing/going through. I just know as a parent that my reaction would have been completely different, not better or worse just different.

They have used the machinery of publicity to the nth degree and the resultant decisions appear as bad as the decisions that caused this dreadful event in the first place. To my knowledge. They are NOT unworldly, nor uneducated, and also had maturity on their side

Gerry McCannn. " "We have always said that at six months we didn't want to look back and say 'I wish we had done that and wish we had done this'. Now that quote was in the context of the search, but no one can disagree that as a statement it displays piss poor judgement. Tinged with self justification and arrogance, in the midst of the publicity storm they helped whip up.....Six months!! FFS.

That's all I have to say on this matter.

my two posts have been deleted, unlucky chucky, I'm still hereLaugh

what I said was...

Have you thought about this one as well Einstein, people can undergo hypnotherapy to convince themselves they are innocent if they are guilty and pass lie detector tests with flying colours. I don't think you've thought it through. The mind is the most powerful tool we have and answering a few questions convincly is not enough to stand up in court as evidence, DNA, witneses, CCTV evidence, that's what the justice system wants not a test.

Amazing this post was deleted, I can't see anything that has broken the terms and conditions of forum use

If it was - I have no idea why your post was deleted, I didn't even see it. I certainly didn't report it and not would I have wanted to - nothing in would warrant its deletion. Regards the hypnosis thing - I am not endorsing any tests (hypnosis, polygraphs, truth drugs). What I am saying is that as a father of young children I would agree to ANYTHING if there was the slimmest chance at all it might help find my child. Any potential risks to myself wouldn't be a consideration at all, I'd just take all the tests immediately. I have no idea if Gerry is innocent or guilty, but as a father I can understand the suspicion.

Of the people posting in this thread, I'd like to know who are parents. I think this is a fair question because unless you have children of your own you do not know how a parent feels. I argue that most fathers would do ANYTHING that might help to find their missing daughter - lie detector, hypnosis, truth drug - all would be accepted in a heartbeat. Refusing things like this is suspicious, it just is.

Torque did you ever wonder why so many detectives in fiction not only did not have children
but were not even married ?
Sherlock Holmes, Poirot, Miss Marple , Inspector  Morse and many more ,
Why did the writers so often make this the archetype ?
I don't know .

now a lie detector test. Are there any questions that might be asked if Gerry that have not already been asked ?
if they haven't been asked why not ?

a truth drug I don't believe exists , perhaps alcohol ?

hypnosis , has anyone been even able. to remember where they lost their car keys under hypnosis ?
I don't know.

a truth drug is interesting. If such a thing did exist is it possible that some innocent people would be found guilty?
and guilty innocent . I think so.

If you are innocent is there any circumstance wwere taking a truth drug would help solve the case ,
I don't see how .

in the macaans case proved by their initial statements, the rule of thumb we learned is that when their lips move their lying, then proceed from there on that basis and you wont go far wrong

Isn't that one of the big problems here. So many anomolies and different versions of events from the McCanns lead you to believe that not all of what they come with can be the truth, but that doesn't mean they killed Madeleine.

Why did Kate wash the pet cuddle cat that had her daughters scent on, seems strange and doesn't make sense why she would have done that. But IF they had sedated her she may have done this to get rid of evidence as her saliva could have been evidence of sleeping drugs!! I don't understand why you would want to wash something belonging to a child you have just lost, a special item would be kept as it was.

A former detective who led the initial investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann has sensationally claimed that MI5 helped cover up her death.

Portuguese former police chief Goncalo Amaral, 56, told an Australian documentary that British secret agents “for sure had an involvement” when Maddie vanished at the age of 3 in 2007.

Mr Amaral also astonishingly claimed that former Prime Minister Gordon Brown was involved in the cover up.

That's the well respected,Goncarlo Amaral who's never had a dodgy past and never tried to make money from suspected death of a child, now going back to the well to help cover previous legal costs.
