Cheers Coach Happy

Gery I have worked , for myself , there's just no pleasing some people , if you've got money , you're greedy , if you don't work you're lazy , never any leeway hey

I got off to a bad start in life & have never been given a break , workwise , so I've tried my hardest & made my way though life the best I could

I've had non stop bad experiences with people all my life to the point where I don't get involved or speak to anybody any more , but yes that makes me sad

as for my flat I wouldn't be downsizing , I'd be upsizing & spending all my savings as this government don't reward people that have worked hard like me , but it'd be invested in the house , that'd be my pension , it'd be all I have , leaving nothing to stupidly gamble away the next god knows how many years just trying to exist like I do .

there's no laws against it as everybody has the right to own their own house , if I needed to be on the dole for a while then fine , I have nothing to lose anyway

I do have parents but they've only ever added to my problems , like most people tend to do

I have spoken to doctors & they try & end me to a self help group , I don't like groups & all the outcome will be is trying to 'rehabilitate me' and get me back to WORK

I've followed this thread but this is my first post. I understand the variance of poker and why it could get you down.

TBF £10 P/H is a lot more than minimum wage but I feel you need to socialise more. Have you tried live poker as someone suggested above? Even try and satellite into a decent live MTT? You can network and socialise at these games with fellow minded individuals, if you don't like someone then just speak to someone else. I've made some Facebook friends from both the Betfair live and Boyle IPO games. Take people at face value and don't be too judgmental, everyone has flaws.

You seem very recluse but only you can change that.

I'm probably not making £10 per hour it was just a rough figure I'm actually losing quite heavily this year , that's the trouble you only really know when you stick at it for the long term , and it will change from month to month , if HEM said your hourly was - $20 would you just quit Confused

I think you fail to understand that poker's not a fun game it's serious business & many live MTT players are in Huge makeup (debt) to their backers , to me they're complete ****s tbh

You must excuse me playing the amateur psychiatrist Moonbeam

Your bad experiences with people, work, etc seem to be defining you

I am NOT making judgements, you can make whatever decisions on your life you like

You just seemed so unhappySad....

It seems a good idea to put more of your money in property, I approve of that

I love going for ages about things I know little of, my weaknessBlush, boredom I suppose

But I wish you wellHappy, why would I not?, it is a hard world

I'm not suggesting you play live for a living but use the experience to socialise. Play more STTs each day and take a day off and play live once a week to meet people.

Poker is so intricate, you could be winning money and playing badly just as you can play perfectly and lose to the variance. I think you have to keep your finger on the pulse and play the games that are most profitable for you.

Bankroll management can be so easy but yet so hard but if your -$20P/H then you should drop stakes. Remember the game has changed so much in the past few years. Pokerstars would now have a far higher standard filled with decent regs at a $1.50 STT than 8 years ago than a $10 on Betfair Pokerchamps. Just because you are a regular at $50 8 years ago doesn't mean you have to be a regular at $50 today. Players are better, everyone is using a HUD and picking apart your game. Bad players have either gave up or improved and things that took me years to work out can be learned by a 20 minute Youtube video or asking questions on Twitch.

Are you using HEM now? And have you read "The Poker Mindset" or "Mental Game of Poker"?

Reminds me of the time I got a lift back from the races with a bookie.

All the way from Stratford to Wincanton I got a long list of the misery he'd endured. "You know what? I've been unlucky my whole life. From start to finish."

He then dropped me off from the huge Merc he was driving and carried on home to the farm he'd inherited.

8 Years ago , Please Explain Confused

Players are better, everyone is using a HUD and picking apart your game.

Again you are wrong

Bad players have either gave up or improved

So you're trying to make out I'm a bad player now Grin

and it's actually the Good players that are retiring

There's no convincing you McMoon.

You've questioned the RnG but I've gave proof over a large sample that the RnG is true (run the races report), you have your head stuck in the sand mate and no disrespect as I know your higher stakes but if your losing -$20 P/H then it's vital you drop stakes and iron out the problems.

HEM is VITAL, not for the HUD but for your own stats. Learn how to analyse them and plug those leaks as if you don't then someone will be abusing them.

And get out and meet people which is probably more important for your needs.

I am a very unhappy person yes , most people are brainwashed to believe that their job is everything in life , but you get nothing back at the end of it all , life is for living but very few actually seem to successfully

I don't mean to be personal (you obviously live on a pension now) but what difference would still owning your house mean to you , better health care in old age Confused

-20 was just an example but yes I'm losing

I'm interested where the 8 years ago came from you're obviously just trying to put me down

Just believe me when I tell you Good sng players don't need Huds

Cash it would be almost vital , Mtt's it would be helpful

I've got HEM but can't stand to run it whilst playing it takes so much memory up it's painful

I'm still not convinced the RNG is for real (since Amaya took over)

They're one of the greediest companies on the face of the planet & if they were going to Skim anybody it'd be Supernova +   but you'd have to play a bit more to understand my viewpoint !

they call - re raise with cr^p like K4 , get it allin K flop & every turn card is their miracle 4

How can a Pro like me combat that , I s'pose their Hud told them it was coming Tongue Out

I wish you would knock the poker on the head for awhile and have a holiday. I bet every day pretty much, on placepots on the horses and trap challenges on the dogs. I don't win fortunes but I hardly ever lose month to month, I just enjoy it. I do like poker every now and then but I'm not that good at it, I just do it for a bit of entertainment when in the mood and don't take it seriously. I'm off to New Zealand for a few weeks in June just to chill out and go fishing, watch a bit of rugby and see my family and friends in Auckland. Really looking forward to that break away from everything.

You see my job was my life, my function in life, I chose one I liked...it was taken away from me, never worked since, no one would employ me,
that was a terrible punishment for me

In the process I lost my property, money, everything, another punishment for me

What use is retirement to me?
Still I try to laugh or I would cry, explains my warped humour, and I make the best of what I have.

But I emphasize with you with one thing Moonbeam, unhappiness, I was wondering why, that was all?
Don't worrying about me laughing at Clydebank, I laugh at anything.

Anyway I hope the poker looks upHappy

You picked me up wrong (maybe I never made it clear) although you find the negatives in my post and not the positives.

8 years ago without HUDs/ training sites/ videos/ Twitch the game was easy. I was beating Betfair/ Pokerchamps with a healthy ROI and only Wulfman I avoided. 8 years later and everyone knows how to play a basic game and I've seen Wulfman cry on the Poker forum. I ate him in a few STTs on I-Poker and all he did was cry. I stayed static for several years but I realised to keep up with the game you have to also move with the times. I'm still learning and still working on my game.

You say the top pro's don't use a HUD, what evidence have you? A HUD isn't as important as improving your own game but a HUD can be useful for picking certain tells that instinct doesn't always work. How often does someone call raise pre, call 3 bet on flop, check turn and fold? A HUD stat would give you that in an instant. You'd know by instinct but on how many times when multi tabling? Upgrade your PC and start using it if it's running slow.

Get out and meet people mate is your biggest problem and forget about the poker. Anything, talk to randomers when shopping, flirt with the cash assistants, just get out there and talk to people.

FFS McMoon, I could show my whole stats and the AKs v 22 will be 49%, AA v random pocket pair will hold up 80% of the time, AK v QJ 60% etc, (just guessing at those odds btw without checking!) what I'm saying is the RnG is totally true. Yes I've been a marginal luckbox over 36,000 but 36M it won't matter.

I do play on Stars but I only play a very limited number of games. My Graph and ROI is good and my sharkscope is open but it's all micro stakes and why I stopped playing. I game select, I chase bad players TBH, when I hit $7 on Stars I found it reg infested. Not that I don't think I could beat it but I found it easier on I-Poker.

McMoon your problem is socialising, not poker. I don't mind talking poker but you need to get out and talk to people.

Thanks Gery
I'm sorry to hear that
I see myself in a similar situation , which is why I'd like to buy a house & Lock it up Now if you get my drift , as I'll probably never make the money I have done again in my life so have to think fast about how to be most sensible with it while I still have it

If I did own a house & was happier then I'd feel I could take the odd holiday with any extra money I'd make , but maybe not , life's just so much more stressful on your own
I never really know if I'm doing right or not tbh
Don't even know what happiness is anymore Sad
By:

I'm not saying it is r!gged but most games are reg infested nowadays , which is why most players rely on r^keback , as long as you can play so many games without losing too much , but that takes a lot of time up for little rewards nowadays

"life's just so much more stressful on your own"

That is bollox.  You've chosen to live on your own.  You blame your parents and other people for making you feel worse.  So for you, you've decided it's less stressful on your own.  Your in good physical health, otherwise you'd be moaning about it.  You can chose what you do and when you do it.  I can understand you feel trapped, but you show absolutely no inclination to do anything about it.

Life is more stressful if you've got dependents, where you've got responsibilities to be a good role model and are struggling to put food on the table or heat the house.  I know someone reasonably well who's daughter has sever physical and mental problems, part of the symptoms mean she doesn't sleep for more than 2-3 hours and he or his wife are up in the night every single day for the last 12 years and they know they will always have to care for her until they or her die.  That's stress.

I think you should get a house Moonbeam, I agree with that.

I find being on my own stressful at times. But I have a good friend which helps me, even though she does not live with me.
I also have to support her in different ways, so that is now my function in life.
That is my good luck in life.

One thing you could do with is a friend Moonbeam. If you buy a house perhaps you can get a lodger.

I do not think you will ever work now, you have committed to your present life for better or worse.

Ta for your wishes.Happy

I think you are a nice man, but are not easy to help, which is frustrating a lot of people on here.
Life is stressful end of, but in different ways to different people. Clydebank's post a good example.
