The fact is it was a situation which she entirely created herself.  But how he tracked her down and got her address I have no idea, and did he go to far to expose her the way he did, could say he was just doing his job - like a lot of other investigative reporters on TV. Hard to say who is more to blame here, two wrongs don't make a right.

How do you arrive at that conclusion HD2?
She made comments that can be found on any forum, chat room and etc.
She hasn't told any lies that we are aware of.
She might have been a tad ott in her comments but she is entitled to an opinion.
She wasn't posting to the mccanns as far as I know.

What gave Sky the right to door step her?
What gave Sky the right to broadcast her face to an audience of millions whilst telling her the police were on her case which was a lie.
Why single her out when, by their own admission, she was far from the worst?

Listening to a news report on the radio in the car today it clearly stated this woman SENT messages to the McCanns. I thought she just made the comments.

The way I see it people have a right to ask questions about this case and in doing so they are nearly all thinking first and foremost about a young girl. And you cant ask questions in this case without all the questions and criticisms coming back to the actions of the parents both before and after the event.

All parents should Know in these kind of cases that they need to be ruled out of suspicion in order for the police to focus their efforts and you would answer all questions no matter how uncomfortable they were or no matter in what light you may be perceived by others.

I don't see why so called 'trolls' have to be interviewed by the police literally 5 minutes after they post their opinion.

I don't recall seeing the police rush to Finsbury Park Mosque.

The one handed one eyed Imam was preaching hatred to the west for over 2 years before he was taken in by the police.

Perhaps there are different laws for white and non-whites, who knows?

The first question they should answer is why they left babies alone without a child minder when they are loaded and minders are ten a penny. Especially if as reported poor Maddie begged them not to do it again because she was heartbroken at them leaving her previously.

Why not? Go on the football forum whenever a games on or the horse racing forum and you will find far worse comments made yet no one would seriously consider the poster to be trolling or abusing Rooney or Frank Spencer.

From the tweets posted in the media and on the basis it wasn't posted to the Mccann's directly what she said wasn't much different to me saying I hope Wayne Rooney's next **** is a hedgehog.

'Madeleines favourite toy' (McCanns words) was pulled out of McCanns handbag at every interview.

Which makes it a bit odd that one of the sniffer dogs found it discarded in the bottom of a cupboard.

Why would her parents take away her 'favourite toy'?

Although I DO recall something about the detective having a less-than-open mind about the case of a missing child.

The 48 questions Kate McCann wouldn't answer - and the one she did

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

UPDATED: 11:31, 5 August 2008 During eleven hours of interrogation, Kate McCann refused to answer 48 specific questions.
Madeleine's mother, who was legally represented in the interview, stayed silent as police threw a series of loaded questions at her that made clear they thought she was involved in her daughter's disappearance.
She answered only once - when accused of harming the hunt for Madeleine by her silence.

These are the questions:
1. On May 3 2007, around 22:00, when you entered the apartment, what did you see? What did you do? Where did you look? What did you touch?
2.  Did you search inside the bedroom wardrobe? (she replied that she wouldn’t answer)
3. (shown 2 photographs of her bedroom wardrobe) Can you describe its contents?
4.  Why had the curtain behind the sofa in front of the side window (whose photo was shown to her) been tampered with? Did somebody go behind that sofa?
5. How long did your search of the apartment take after you detected your daughter Madeleine’s disappearance?
6. Why did you say from the start that Madeleine had been abducted?
7. Assuming Madeleine had been abducted, why did you leave the twins home alone to go to the ‘Tapas’ and raise the alarm? Because the supposed abductor could still be in the apartment.
8. Why didn’t you ask the twins, at that moment, what had happened to their sister or why didn’t you ask them later on?
9. When you raised the alarm at the ‘Tapas’ what exactly did you say and what were your exact words?
10. What happened after you raised the alarm in the ‘Tapas’?
11. Why did you go and warn your friends instead of shouting from the verandah?
12. Who contacted the authorities?
13.  Who took place in the searches?
14.  Did anyone outside of the group learn of Madeleine’s disappearance in those following minutes?
15. Did any neighbour offer you help after the disappearance?
16. What does 'we let her down' mean?
17.  Did Jane tell you that night that she’d seen a man with a child?
18.  How were the authorities contacted and which police force was alerted?
19. During the searches, with the police already there, where did you search for Maddie, how and in what way?
20. Why did the twins not wake up during that search or when they were taken upstairs?
21. Who did you phone after the occurrence?
22. Did you call Sky News?
23. Did you know the danger of calling the media, because it could influence the abductor?
24. Did you ask for a priest?
25. By what means did you divulge Madeleine’s features, by photographs or by any other means?
26. Is it true that during the searches you remained seated on Maddie’s bed without moving?
27. What was your behaviour that night?
28. Did you manage to sleep?
29. Before travelling to Portugal did you make any comment about a foreboding or a bad feeling?
30. What was Madeleine’s behaviour like?
31. Did Maddie suffer from any illness or take any medication?
32. What was Madeleine’s relationship like with her brother and sister?
33. What was Madeleine’s relationship like with her brother and sister, friends and school mates?
34. As for your professional life, in how many and which hospitals have you worked?
35. What is your medical specialty?
36. Have you ever done shift work in any emergency services or other services?
37. Did you work every day?
38. At a certain point you stopped working, why?
39. Are the twins difficult to get to sleep? Are they restless and does that cause you uneasiness?
40.  Is it true that sometimes you despaired with your children’s behaviour and that left you feeling very uneasy?
41. Is it true that in England you even considered handing over Madeleine’s custody to a relative?
42. In England, did you medicate your children? What type of medication?
43.   In the case files you were SHOWN CANINE forensic testing films, where you can see them marking due to detection of the scent of human corpse and blood traces, also human, and only human, as well as all the comments of the technician in charge of them. After watching and after the marking of the scent of corpse in your bedroom beside the wardrobe and behind the sofa, pushed up against the sofa wall, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
44.   When the sniffer dog also marked human blood behind the sofa, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
45.  When the sniffer dog marked the scent of corpse coming from the vehicle you hired a month after the disappearance, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
46.  When human blood was marked in the boot of the vehicle, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
47.   When confronted with the results of Maddie’s DNA, whose analysis was carried out in a British laboratory, collected from behind the sofa and the boot of the vehicle, did you say you couldn’t explain any more than you already had?
48.   Did you have any responsibility or intervention in your daughter’s disappearance?
A QUESTION SHE DID ANSWER
Q.  Are you aware that in not answering the questions you are jeopardising the investigation, which seeks to discover what happened to your daughter?
A.  'Yes, if that’s what the investigation thinks.'

I've had a brief look at some of the questions and, to be honest, I can't see how they would have helped to find a missing child. No, I haven't read them all.
They DO seem slightly biased, don't you think?
By:

If they had answered all the questions all police resources could have been directed to finding a person outside of the family being the prime suspect. That's how it would have helped. No questions should have been above answering no matter how pointless they may have seemed. Every minute and every means of investigation resources were needed at that stage when there was still a hope of finding the young girl.

What you have to understand is that to get to the facts the McCann's would have been treated as possible suspects in law and expected to answer questions to help the investigation. That's Portuguese law. I can't remember the technical term but it's something like Aguido.

Put yourself in their position. You'd answer any and every question quickly in the hope that it would help the investigation.

A lot of the questions seem to be based around an assumption that the parent being questioned was finding it difficult to cope with the kids and that they may have some kind of history of either break down or mental illness. I have no idea if that is the case or not but those questions are very specific. The line of questioning may have been seeking to ascertain whether a simple tragic accident occurred because of the difficulties of coping with three young kids.

It certainly isn't in any way normal to leave toddlers alone while you go off eating, drinking and making merry. Simple as that. Did they deserve whatever tragedy befell them on that night? Of course not.

The more you read about the case it becomes more difficult to remain objective; everyone has opinions and there have been exhaustive searches, interviews with the parents, with potential suspects and others who are linked and yet the whereabouts of the child are completely unknown. I must admit I wasn't aware of the questions asked other than what I have just read. If what was printed in the newspaper in terms of the absence of replies to many questions then you can understand why people have many misgivings. It should be remembered that often the perpetrator of a crime is (although not always) immediate or people closely associated to the family so you can understand why questions might be deliberately couched in specific terms. The speculation and questions asked by tweeters and others in the circumstances might not therefore not be inappropriate although some of the derogatory terms used by some could be described as defamatory unless proven. The other point is that SKY and no doubt other broadcasters will have opinions within their newsrooms which are contrary to others and should the case ever be broken either way I bet they have already formulated 2 different scenarios for almost immediate release depending upon who is identified as the culprit(s)

naydam, don't ever consider a career in the police.

Inspector Naydam: We found the axe with the victims flesh, blood and bone fragments on it, in your car.

Criminal: no comment

Inspector Naydam: The victim has died of a number of blows to his head with an axe.

Criminal: no comment

Inspector Naydam: Do you think we'll find your DNA and fingerprints on the axe.

Criminal: no comment

Inspector Naydam: Are you the only person who has keys to your car.

Criminal: Of course I am.

Inspector Naydam: Where are those keys now?

Criminal: In my pocket.

Inspector Naydam: Do you know who killed the victim?

Criminal: Certainly not.

Inspector Naydam: Okay, you can go.

Nobody knows how they would deal with the questions. If you had already given a number of statements to the police with similar questions 4 months ago then the police wished to interview you as a suspect in a foreign country with questions clearly designed to implicate you in being involved in killing your daughter then there a number of reasons why you may be reluctant to answer them particularly if the legal representative who has knowledge of the foreign judicial system advises you it is in your interests not to.

Hmmm. Was the car locked? Is the suspect a tree surgeon, or similar? Did he have opportunity? Did he have a motive? Where are the other car keys?

In conclusion: I think he was set up. His wife's boy friend did it in order to live happily ever after with his missus. The irony is that she never intended to settle down with fool. She just wanted her husband out of the way...and the 'boy friend' could never tell anybody the truth! Clever woman, but not clever enough for Inspector Naydam.

People who say "he was just doing his job" deserve to be slapped with a wet fishGrin

People who also say if they were lower class parents they'd have their children taking away for negligence, well what flipping good would that do exactly? do you not think their twins have not suffered enough, lost a sister and then bot parents by the time they were 3. They were less liley to do it again then most people.

As for the fact no evidence of an abductor being there, were you all expecting him to leave a calling card?

9 people all came up with a plan to hide a dead body in such a short space of time and do it successfully for 7/8 years, it doesn't ring true, if she died accidentally the first instinct would be to call/scream for an ambulance to help save her, instead they all sat around the coffee table and decided to hide/ conceal a dead body within 4 hours of leaving the kid club, they are truly remarkable.

Unfortunately the PR machine they have have actually worsened their image/reputation, there is no reason why they shouldn't answer every single question.

I have no view about what actually happened to Maddie. I wasn't there. What is a matter of record is the parental neglect. The crucial thing is the way these people have manipulated their way into the public consciousness as victims. Yes it is a terrible thing what happened but they have never once put their hands up and admitted their own responsibility. Had they not gone on the lash their child would almost certainly have been safe today. A single mum on benefits would have been dragged through the shiit over this. These people because they are professionals have been feather bedded and money thrown at them. The hypocrisy of both our society and media are sickening.

tbf what can a McCann defender actually say ? The entire abduction case rests on Kate & Gerry's insistence that Madeleine was abducted .To believe them you just have to decide to trust them , so it is a faith based evidence free position . You just have to assert their goodness and call anyone who disagrees an evil troll ( and wish away all the evidence that there was no abduction ) .People believe the McCanns story in the same way people believe in God or Father Christmas .

"What can a McCann defender actually say"? Well, if I was a so-called 'McCann Defender' I would probably say that THEY are privy to information that nobody else has. You see, they actually KNOW whether or not they are guilty of the crime that many people insist upon levelling at them. Strangely, I would feel obliged to add that I Don't believe in GOD (in the context above) or Father Christmas. The Tooth Fairy if a different matter. I had evidence to back that up. Unfortunately, I spent it.

tobermory you are very unbalanced on this.

There is no body and completely leaves the theory on abduction open.

It's not up to you decide their guilt, it's up to a judge and jury, they are innocent until a court says otherwise. They are unlikely to be arrested now.

Explain how they could have disposed of a body within 3-4 hours of her supposedly dying with her never being found too, and then have the world and it's wife looking for her with no luck, not even a £1.5 million pound reward offer helped. The more you think of that the more implausible it seems.

A lot of the hatred towards them stems from the fact they were negligent parents who were enjoying themselves rather than looking after their children of which they have paid the ultimate price. Personally I will never understand what went through their mind when they did that, night after night. That does't make them automatically guilty of anything else.

You do realise it was the McCanns who asked for the sniffer dogs to be used in the first place, hardly a sign of guilt and that kate had been in close contact with dead bodies as a doctor, just prior to the holiday explaining the odour on her cloths and elsewhere. Notice none was found of gerry's cloths.
