Stop hounding him.

what she did was undoubtedly wrong but are "sky" any better

Are you for real? I saw that interview, it was tame. She was posting evil groundless lies with the cowardice of twitter anonymity. If you can't take it, don't give it.
By:
What she posted was not so bad and may have been taken out of context. There was far worse written but she was just unlucky to be found.
By:
What lies did she post ?
By:
Anyone know how they managed to track a twitter user right down to her front door ?
By:
This is the main tweet attributed to her which could have been taken out of context:
Using the Twitter account '@Sweepyface', which has since been deleted, Leyland made offensive remarks such as: "'#McCann Q: How long must the McCanns suffer' answer 'for the rest of their miserable lives'." |
By:
not sure how that can be taken out of context! the word miserable is redundant there, sticking the knife in imo

Agreed but at the same time I doubt what she says has broken any laws. |
By:
trolls tend to be depressed self-loathing types. It probably tipped her over the edge.
By:
Is she a troll or someone who's become fixated by the mccanns?
By:
Shame she's dead but she did seem like a real lowlife.
By:
All I've seen was her being door stepped and what I've read on here.
I know she was critical of the mccanns but surely that's her right. What makes you say she's a lowlife crags? Did she ever communicate directly with the mccanns? |
By:
Why would she have to do that? She's a lowlife for her twisted and unfounded hatred of two respectable people who are grieving for their missing child. No more from me on this subject as it's pointless trying to get through to certain people
By:
people go thru a lot worse without killing themselves there must have been other things going on.
By:
A whole load of self-loathing, I would imagine.
By:
That's a whole lot of hated you have there crags.
By:
*hatred not hated
By:
Well no doubt the woman had issues crags, that's surely a given. Obviously obsessed and posted spiteful remarks but having a Sky crew turn up at her doorstep to confront her was wrong. It led her to end her life, you must see that was obscene regardless of the trolling surely?
By:
MB will regretting this rest of his life
By:
this is a newsworthy story & yet when I last looked at the news it wasn't being reported by sky...why?
can they answer some important questions like...how did they identify the woman...did they breach any laws or regulations in obtaining details...why was this woman singled out for being identified....will Mr Brunt be suspended pending any internal inquiry |
By:
failed to mention it on newspaper review
By:
how did sky news find out where she lived?
By:
They did mention it in the paper review at the end when they were going through tomorrows headlines, and it was briefly mentioned in their news, but yes they are basically just skipping over it. They should be in trouble really.

Total hyperbole Crags. The 'tweet' which is commented in the media is nothing more than her wishing ill will on a person she clearly dislikes and has no context to it. 50% of posts on every Mccann thread on here has contained similar. How Sky News thought that was sufficient to run a story on her committing a campaign of attacks, being a troll or abusive to the Mccanns from a single tweet attributed to her when from what I've read it wasn't even communicated to the Mccanns and was merely a tweet containing her view on them is absurd. Clearly there is likely other issues in her life that led to this but having a journalist turn up at your house one morning telling you you are being investigated by the police then broadcasting your reaction on a major news outlet is clearly going to have an affect on you. |
By:
Absolutely bizarre piece of 'journalism' .... pure propganda for the Mccanns

so do you believe twitter users should be protect by their anonymity? Not me, I think every tweet should be listed with a ip address or telephone number
By:
Me I think every Tweet should be ignored. Why did Twitter get so important?
By:
Actually your point is good, however I would prefer a blanket ban on journalist reporting on what has happened on Twitter. It may encourage them to look for more important stories.
By:
read her tweets, wasn't troll material, she was questioning mccans version of events
she was a soft target TRAGICALLY Martin Brunt has a lot of questions to answer |
By:
so instead of tweeting, she cut up Newspaper letters saying "May you rot in hell" and sent it to the McCanns via the post, it wouldn't be classed as trolling or threatening?
By:
a single tweet huh?
Well they seem to mention several tweets in the Sky News article I read but they have for some reason only chosen one tweet to actually quote. so instead of tweeting, she cut up Newspaper letters saying "May you rot in hell" and sent it to the McCanns via the post, it wouldn't be classed as trolling or threatening? But she hasn't has she? What she did is more like the equivalent of sitting in the pub and and saying "may they rot in a hell" then a couple of people overhearing it and saying it's despicable and reporting it to the police. |
