THE funeral of tragic schoolgirl Tia Sharp will be held next Friday — with thousands likely to pay their last respects.

A family friend said yesterday: “It is going to be a very moving day — and not just for the family. We expect the streets to be packed.

“Lots of people will want to take the opportunity to say goodbye.”

Twelve-year-old Tia’s body was found in the loft at her gran Christine Bicknell’s home in New Addington, South London, a week after she went missing last month.

Bicknell, 46, who was arrested on suspicion of murder and bailed pending further inquiries, is set to attend the funeral. Her partner Stuart Hazell, 37, has been charged with murder.

Tia’s white coffin will be taken through the streets by horse-drawn carriage. The cortege will pass her old school Raynes Park High, in Merton. There will be a break in lessons so staff and 1,100 pupils can pay their respects.

An initial post mortem failed to establish the cause of death. A second has taken place and Tia’s family were told yesterday that her body will be released.

So many questions still unanswered.

Prosecution have got a job on due to non findings of the autopsy.

The next door neighbour is still on bail.

The police had nothing on Christine but when they discovered Tia`s body 7 days too late. The inquiry moved into a `was the body moved` investigation and it was Christine who had the car.

So for the police incompetence Christine was highlighted in the press front page as a murder suspect. Yet if the police had found the body on day one a timeline of Tia`s death would have matched Christines alibi from her place of work.

Christine did not know Tia had gone to stay that night. She was at work, and also there are many dubious step dad characters in our society. Hindsight is wonderful.

The neighbour obviously gave false information regarding to seeing Tia leave the house. Also his attic links up with Christines.

Both house are being demolished though.

Only because the public form opinions through media perceptions. In reality how could she not be in the clear? She fell for a criminal.

Criminals live in the community, who do we blame when they do bad?

We have been here before. Also for 5 years he had arranged birthday parties for Tia, taken her to the park hundreds of times, cooked for her hundreds of times, bought he presents, helped her with homework and done many helpful things for her and her family.

Was there any indication he was child murderer? No.
Was he scum? Yes his criminal past suggests yes. Criminals are good to their families Pixie. How do we pinpoint child killers?

Yes, AG, he sounds like a paragon of virtue - an exemplary guardian. In fact I'm surprised he hadn't started his own baby sitting and dog walking service for the other families on the estate.

My kids are kept safe and alive - as are all the other children in the area that I live. Probably something to do with the fact that as parents/guardians we tend to draw the line at giving criminals with drug and violence convictions access to our children unsupervised.

Poor Tia wasn't afforded this obvious protection. Hope this helps.

Oh for goodness sake, Angel Gabriel, I have no idea how many ex-cons are stepfathers and I'm not petitioning for anything. In this case anyway, SH was not acting stepfather albeit he had shagged the the mother (and was now on the grandmother) of the victim.

This family are utter low-life, scummy, trailer trash, filth who through their dysfunctionality allowed a dangerous man free access to a vulnerable child and to consequently murder her. 99.9% of 'normal' parents wouldn't have let their daughter anywhere near him and I would be confident in stating that you clearly don't have children of your own, as you would not be making such a fool of yourself by arguing the point that there was no way of knowing that he was such a bad person to have as a sole guardian if you had.

Tia's mother and grandmother let her down badly. I just hope the mother doesn't have any more children as it would be unkind for any child to have her as a mother and it would just be another burden on our social services.
