I think you're talking nonsense there Ovalman.

I'm entitled to my views and think this is a reasoned debate.

I'm sure that not every machette wielding maniac is not a child killer. There are a lot of flucked up people on this planet but not everyone would do what SH would do. I'm also sure Tia's parents will haunt themselves forever for letting Tia stay with this beast but hindsight is a wonderful thing and I don't blame them. I'm sure there was trust there somewhere.

Sorry, boggle. My apologies, don't think I've ever seen anyone change their view and admit when they're wrong before on here.Laugh It completely threw me!

So you would leave your children alone, with a man with a history of violence and drug abuse then, Ovalman

My wife did, hundreds of times

The female offspring are now 30 and 28, with children of their own, aged 9 years, 1 year and one at 7 months, and their mothers trust the grandfather implicitly

Agreed. Although if you don't ever leave your children in the care of a machete wielding maniac, there's little chance one of them can end up killing your child.

I'd actually disagree with you there, I think it would be more likely a machette wielding maniac could kill a child in a street than in their care. I think we're delving into statistics here of which I have no data to back up my claims.

This is getting really silly now. So because you're wife did it many times and no harm came of it that makes it ok? Fine, don't even know why we bother screening teachers and child minding services then.

Mr Smith, the new woodwork teacher, has no convictions for child offences but his machete conviction and subsequent chisel work in prison would now make him the ideal candidate.

'everyone that gets convicted with a machette is an automatic child murderer.'

There's nothing reasoned about that, you're just being stupid.
By:

What's that got to do with anything?  Of course being randomly killed by a maniac is more likely, but if a machete wielding maniac pops up from nowhere and kills your child, that's simply bad luck and almost certainly totally unforeseeable.  If you leave your child in the care of a machete wielding maniac, and the child gets killed by said machete wielding maniac, then that's a foreseeable consequence of leaving your child in the care of somebody you shouldn't really be trusting.

It's true that men with violent records can be fine to look after children .Depends on the nature of the violence; if it is exclusively against other violent men that that is more acceptable than if it has been random and unpredictable/unprovoked. Some men's use of violence may have been controlled and rational. But violence often goes hand in hand with volatility and sudden eruptions of rage though, so not what you want around children.

Most people would make a judgement on how they come across with their personality .Hazell in his TV interview did not come across very well to say the least.

On the whole, trusting a drug-abusing, machete wielding **** who's already raddled two generations of your family with looking after the third generation, would be foolish.

More crucially, and sadly, the evidence would seem to bear this out.

yep done mum, done gran,

and a 12-year-old girl with a step-grandad who is 37,
prison twice for crack cocaine and having a machette,

I would say that is just enough to ring some alarm bells.......

Which brings me back to my initial point, not every machette wielding maniac is a child killer. The CCDA has an unfortunate record of jumping to conclusions before the facts are known.

has anyone explained why tia was staying overnight at her grandmas house on a regular basis especially so when the gran worked nights.what was wrong with her own home.

Barrowboy, I don't think anyone has really explained that one, no.  The gran did tell somebody earlier this week that Tia had seen her house as 'refuge from home'. So it sounds from that as though the girl's real home wasn't the most comfortable. That could have just been a turn of phrase the gran was using though.

It did turn out that the CCDA's suspicions were right, though...   Most here fingered Hazell right from the beginning. Not just down to his 'murky past', but that certainly didn't help.

my guess is that its going to turn out to be all a horrible accident where Tia finds a drug stash, ODs on something and dies, then the morons decide that a cunning runaway story/ body hiding plan would be better than telling the truth and getting in trouble for having a drug stash. Now its all gone tits up.

?

I was defending the parents mistake of letting the child stay with him. It's easy in hindsight but if they trusted this man then I don't see the point of vilifying them.

I have made the point that not every machette wielding maniac is a child killer.

Didn't Chit Chat, convict, hang, draw and quarter the landlord because he looked funny?

the next door neighbour who got arrested with the Gran and now released on bail, presume that would be the bloke who said he saw Tia leave the house. and suppose he'll get charged with helping the killer or giving false info to the police and hindering the inquiry.

On this logic, Ovalman, you would probably entrust your kids to Jack the Ripper.  After all, not every serial killer is a child killer.

By the way i would not judge the family as `underclass`.

The gran pays her own way and the mother pays her own way. SH had paid his own way.

Karen Mathews was `underclass` Tia Sharps family are working class.

We have become a nation of paranoid schitzo's Ozymandius, scared to let our kids breath, health and safety has ruined our land.

The bottom line is things like this are EXTREMELY rare, I don't think we should vilify the parents for leaving their child with this monster.

Be intersting to see what previous the rest of the family has as well imo,did anyone see the actual father in that interview?? looked like he'd been inside a nuthouse for last 10 yrs.

One thing that hasnt bene mentioned is how on earth did the smell not alert the old bill the body would of been in a horrible state of active decomposition unless they had it in some sort of lined body bag?

I personally think the OB are taking the rap here due to them not being allowed to start giving out evidence..nooen could posisbly miss a body ffs.
