My in-laws were at the girls Grandmothers house yesterday. Obviously the police and media were there. There doesnt seem to be any cctv links at the moment. If she caught the tram, then there would be cameras.

Must be horrendous....had my daughter disappear a few times and was a hideous experience . The police are useless in my experience...sincerely hope she turns up safe .

why are sky publicising it and asking for info etc and the bbc ignoring it on the 2pm news
shame on the bbc - publicity so important in this - desperate what an awful situation for the family !!! meanwhile bbc saying stratford must be such a happy place they are obsessed with the olympics when public information should be put out about this as time is passing by |

Under 14s are allowed on the buses for free and the tram drivers don't see who gets on
The girl's face is on posters everywhere in SE London I think that the authorities have done a reasonable job of informing the public |

to leave without her mobile, nobody saw her leave, no trace on CCTV, all seems a bit odd (?) And if it wasn't for the Olympics normally a story like this would be splashed all over the headlines. |

My (then) 14 year old nephew went missing about 3 years ago for 3 days solid, they announced it on the news but thankfully he turned up. We still haven't got it out of him where he'd been, where he stayed or how he was fed.
Wasn't it a few weeks ago a similar story broke and the child was found? I hope he's found or she turns herself in AG, fingers crossed. |

I dont personally know the girl , but my wife`s family are relations of Tia`s.
I see the Sun has put up a reward for £25K. I can see that from the outside certain aspects dont seem to add up. The media are not particularly good at accurate reporting. I think its odd that she left home leaving her mobile phone on charge and no CCTV footage. |

This going into the 5th day.
I think the family are starting to come to terms with the fact she has been abducted. The south London community forums have been busy with people spreading information and a few locals seem to mention a white van prowling around the estates on the days leading to Tia`s disappearance with children feeling under threat from the driver yet nothing has been announced by the police. |

Thats true Tobe. Yet someone mentions that a young boy ran into a shop fretting because of this van driver and the shop keeper phoned the police. This happened on the thursday i think. Again how accurate and honest this maybe is open to question. It was a buzz on the community forums but as of yet no police announcement.

It seems in these cases the `male` members of the family come under scrutiny. I know that the grandma`s partner who was the last family member to see her will come under scrutiny. He would struggle to abduct anyone though as he does not drive. Then of course the memory of Karen Mathews raises it ugly head. This is bound to happen.

Missing schoolgirl Tia Sharp’s mum today told of her family’s torment after the 12-year-old’s disappearance. Natalie Sharp, 30, spoke out for the first time since Tia vanished last Friday. She said: “My baby girl walked out and she vanished. We all feel terrible. We think she’s been taken but we just don’t know. “There is no CCTV. We know absolutely nothing. I wish to God I could tell you something.” The schoolgirl disappeared on a trip to the shops on Friday. Natalie said a woman had seen her leave Tia’s grandmother Christine Sharp’s house alone. She said: “I have an independent witness that she left on her own walking down the road.” Police have said Tia’s grandmother’s boyfriend Stuart Hazell is the last person to have made a confirmed sighting of her. Stuart, who met Christine after being released from prison following a conviction for supplying drugs, has told police the schoolgirl left the couple’s home in New Addington, South London, at midday last Friday. After his release, Mr Hazell grew close to Natalie before starting a relationship with her mother Christine. Wearing a white “Missing” T-shirt and jeans, he clutched a candle during a family service on Monday night. Stuart’s father Keith said the painter and decorator told him he had walked Tia, 12, down to a local tram stop as she went to buy flip-flops at the shopping centre in Croydon. He said: “Stuart is very close to Tia. She used to call him grandad, but he was like a dad and a grandad to her. "He’d have done anything for her. He is absolutely heartbroken. Where has she gone?” He added that Tia was dependent on her spectacles as her eyesight was quite poor, and she always had to wear her glasses as a result. The last known CCTV image of Tia came from the Co-op store in Featherbed Lane, Addington at 4.15pm last Thursday. It is understood she was with a relative when they spent £40 on groceries before leaving. She was said to have been happy, smiling and giggling while in the shop. The store has up to 16 cameras and she was seen walking and playing in the aisles on Thursday afternoon, the day before she went missing. Tia lives with Natalie her stepfather David Niles, 29, and her brothers Jack, three, and Harry, one. Mr Niles’s mother Angela, 69, said that the whole family was struggling to come to terms with her disappearance. Police continued their search for Tia today as they combed a wood less than a mile from where she was last seen. |

She cannot have left the house intending to travel far ,Tia would have needed an oyster photo card to get on transport all kids do..
Leaving the oyster an mobile behind seems very strange ,leaving both behind the day she disapears even stranger ,KIDS live with their oysters and mobiles ,does anyone know where she was meant to be going ? If she was just popping round the corner can be understood ,Ive heard something about going whitgift center shopping ,there is no way in the world she is leaving both phone and oyster behind if that was the case ,sadly someone is not telling the truth .. Be it Tia or a Family member ,the chances of her leaving without the phone and pass and then being abducted by a stranger are practically nil I.M.O of course perhaps the facts ive stated are incorrect ,Hopefully she has just ran away to a mates house didnt need pass ,and left phone behind on purpose ,maybe a lad on the internet, having watched a programme earlier about a girl who posed as 3 boys anything is possible these days .. |

Yes, casemoney, I think that has stood out to us all.
What kid these days is without a mobile glued to their hand! Also, the plan (we're told) was to travel to the shopping centre, presumably where the oyster card would come in extremely usefully. Even if it was strict parents that didn't allow her to be completely absorbed by a mobile phone in the house and told not to use it, every parent lets them take the mobile out with them, that's the point of mobiles! Especially with kids - the added safety factor. Unfortunately as casemoney suggests, something doesn't add up. I can only assume the police/media are withholding other information which would help their case later on? Not wanting to start rumours/accusations/gossip though, so will just wait and see how it pans out. Best off luck to all in her safe return! |

Her phone was broken and she had been using one of her mums i think, and she left it on charge. She had lost her Oyster card i think but the tram drivers often let the kids on without them. Leaving the phone on charge is odd as we know that 12 year old girls are obsessed with them and being confident of travelling without her oyster card is a bit also but that depends on how many times she had successfully done it in the past. My wife was saying that the journey to the tram stop were she should have gone to is quite isolated and could quite easily be a place for an abduction. If she screams everybody will just think its kids playing around. |
