No crimes against children Ylime. His previous convictions are hardly a link to child abductions are they?
And a neighbour has corroborated that she witnessed Tia walking down the street, so in fact she is the last recorded person to see her. |

Big difference between being a violent drug addict and being a nonce IMO.

He looked like a bloke who had been through the mill, and a man who wants to clear is name damaged by the press hounding.
He has been scared to leave the house yet has not been arrested. The press are scum. Has this ever happened before! |
By:
From what we have been told there is no CCTV footage of Tia after she is supposed to have left the house. How far could she have gone from the house without appearing somewhere on a camera?
It's possible that she was snatched very quickly after leaving. Or perhaps she never the left the house? All very strange. I really hope this is some sort of hoax because the alternatives look grim. |
By:
Also has there been a televised appeal from Mum and Gran? I haven't see one. There usually is if the police think there has been an abduction.
By:
At the tram stop there would be CCTV, perhaps cameras at the shops but not along the main roads, possibly not as many as people think.
By:
The mum and gran are leaving the TV appeals to others in the family. Obviously emotions are running high and who was to blame for letting Tia walk off on her own etc. People go from blaming themselves to blaming others who were guardians at the time.
By:
As said mum nearly always does an appeal if police think a child might have been taken by another party.
By:
I think it's perfectly reasonable to allow a 12 year old to jump on a tram to Croydon and back during daylight hours. Croydon is only a few miles up the road from New Addington and my 11 year old will take a public bus to school next term and that's further than Tia's trip.
By:
I'd have to agree, I was allowed out on my own from the age of around 8, so long as my parents knew where I was. Obviously the area you're living in is relevant, but I'm sure 99% of 12 year olds are allowed out unsupervised during the day, the chances of them coming to any harm are miniscule. Equally though, that's one of the reasons attention is focused on the family.

By:
Thats not a rule of thumb A_T but if i was Natalie i would be on TV pleading.

It is all going off around the house now!!
I do hope this is a scam and they hid her coz the alternative doesn't bear thinking about - she has been missing for so long now |
By:
Lots of officers at the house now, area sealed off. Not sure what that means.

here we go .............

it is only a pre planned search

By:
or...a planned search
By:
is this taking over the popularity of Big Brother?
By:
I family has agreed to close off the house to see if the police can find any clues without interference.
The mother is too mouthy to go on TV so they let the son do the TV appeal. |
By:
If this is a scam, and I hope it is because it would mean no harm has come to the child, the family perpetrators should be punished extremely for wasting police resources.
By:
It would have to be much more sophisticated than the Karen Mathews scam.
The odds of it working out are extreme. |
By:
How are the family expected to profit from a missing child? Surely the child's going to have to turn up one day?
By:
I beleive that the police already know part of the story. Very minimal public appeals.
People on here talk about FAMILY. There are some very messy "families" these days, with step partner boyfriends uncles. |
By:
The Sun has a 25k reward. Perhaps a family would attempt to scam it, but chance of success is near zero.
By:
Blades the police have nothing. This search is routine. If the police had a preconceived idea they have no leads to back it up. If it has overshadowed the abduction likelihood then that is police incompetence and narrow mindedness.
By:
The fact of the matter is that if it is not a scam, and if as it appears, the police have no leads, a massive amount of time has passed since the alleged abduction. This means that any potential abductor has either hidden himself well with his victim, or he has put many miles between himself and the locality.
I can tell you, and I mean this seriously because although I do joke about a bit on these forums, I would not do so in this instance, as someone with some knowledge of forensics, this just does not add up. There are conflicting family statements and no CCTV pics in an area flooded with CCTVs. As has been stated earlier most murders and assaults are NOT random, but carried out by a family member, relative or someone known to the victim. Without "information", if it is not someone known to the victim, the police are helpless until the victim is found, dead or alive. |
By:

The press mixed up thurdays timeline with fridays. Conflicting in the press but not by witnesses. There are not cctv cameras everywhere. Around the shops yes and at the tram stop yes. It is easy for the cameras to miss someone if they dont walk to these areas. The forensic team should have been on the scene asap. The family want this search because it could throw up some clues around the back of the house and yes if a driver has abducted Tia he has been given too much space from the investigation. |
By:
Just to add Slicer
The fact that children are more likely to be abducted by people they are familiar with includes neighbours, family of friends, ex partners of mum or gran etc, school teachers...and on and on Not just direct family members. |
By:
My money is on the step- grandfather being behind it.
Photo in todays paper shows him to be wearing a tee-shirt, hoodie and a jacket. In a mini-heatwave, what's he trying to cover-up? The abundance of clothing would suggest he is trying to protect himself. |

what about by aliens? There's a bloke on politics that may think that

Hope that the Police have a bit of luck and come across a lead that will help find her safe and sound.

Latest news is that the police seem to have cordoned off one of the houses belonging to the family. Apparently the family members have been moved into 'safe accommodation', and the forensics squad are in. A one to two day estimate has been placed on the search, which sounds pretty hardcore to me.. It's not looking great for the family at the moment..
By:
Honky
Read my above posts. As i said, the family have welcomed this search, they agreed to have the house cordoned off so the police forensics can carry out their work without being disturbed. |

Mr Hazell, who previously dated Tia's mother Natalie Sharp, 30, and has served two jail sentences for supplying crack cocaine and the possession of a machete, said: "My previous has got nothing to do with it. Everyone's got a shady past.

Are those offences related to child abduction Stow?
By:
Angel, the Sky report certainly suggested the grandmother didn't go willingly, and seemed rather puzzled by the whole thing. An estimated two day forensics search certainly wouldn't be routine. But you can tell yourself that if you like. Let's see what comes out of this..
By:
Christine offered to do as much as she could to help the police. And what do you mean she didnt go willingly??
Was she struggling ffs? |

What's that got to do with anything? Plenty of child abductors committed other crimes before they kidnapped their first child. And anyway, if it was a member of the family, there's no reason why it had to be an abduction. It could have been an argument or a disagreement that got out of control, for instance? |
By:
the Sky report certainly suggested
