Whatever has happened it was quite sudden, and police have sealed off an area that prevents anyone getting within 100 yds of the house.
Could be the dogs picked up something or they have some new information, but the police cordon now prevents anyone getting near front or back of the house. So in effect a large area has been completely sealed off. |

Ok Honky. But it would also be true that when devoid of all other evidence/leads that the police would be forced to go down that route, simply for something to do, so to speak?
p.s. has anyone read where the grandmother was from Thurs to Friday afternoon? She wasn't in the house. |

that missing oil executive last week found in a shed behind her house after been missing since april, the mathews girl found in her uncles down the road after days of searching and now this. our police really are a laughing stock, add the moet shambles

My guess would be that something happened on the Thursday night (which would explain why she was supposedly wearing the same clothes on the Thursday as on the Friday - very weird for a 12-year old), and Hazell then perhaps got the grandmother to go along with trying to cover it up?

This is just awful.
A complete review of how these cases are handled is clearly needed. When a child goes missing the house should be torn apart - literally if necessary - not ****ing around in case it upsets the family. Incredible.  |

Sad end, and incredible situation now with the bloke on the run,
nothing seemed to add up and everything seemed to be focused on the house and the family, you'd think police would have been watching a main suspect more closely. |

That seems a big over-reaction A_T. If the families were involved, they generally wouldn't leave the body in the family home. Shannon M wasn't in her mother's house, was she? The second your child goes missing, you also have to have your house ripped apart????

Well there are certainly questions about it A_T. But I don't think they should be tearing a house apart simply because a child has gone missing from there. They need to have some sort of inkling that they might find something there. It does seem strange that dogs weren't brought in to detect something earlier, though.

She was probably dead before she was reported as being missing though, so I doubt it would have made any difference had they found her a few days ago.
