still confused about jump starting the car,when giving his alibi on the sun or mon surely the boyfriend told police that the landlord and neighbour helped him at 7ish on the fri,yet it wasnt till over a week later that the police after arresting the LL ,took forensics from neighbours cars , tools, house , clothes etc,surely this should have been done on the 1st monday to check bf alibi,if he didnt tell police till after neigh came forward over a week later why

The cold weather played its part to, body would have been found sooner. Maybe even when bf was still in sheffield.

surely surely when the rozzers first saw the body they thought it interesting she had no boots on and only one sock on? this is basic stuff. yet we are only hearing about the sock a week later. they are useless, fecking useless

Yes, it would be an excellent idea to put every bit of key information, including things that only the killer(s) might know, into the public domain from the outset

if i was the poor girls mother/father/boyfriend would be asking the police some serious questions.ffs they say they gave details about the sock because they believe it will lead to the public giving vital information, well surely that applied more so 10 days ago when events would be fresher in peoples minds.looks like a more amateurish investigation with every passing day

funny how the A&S rozzers didnt get on their high horse when the landlord's reputation was being trashed in the media. Yet the moment they are criticised they throw their toys out of the pram. A young woman is dead here ffs and the police are acting like spoilt brats

Why did Plod tell us she was found 'fully clothed' when she was missing her boots, coat and a sock? Bizarre definition of 'fully clothed'.

BF sill my fav,strong enough to overpower her,access to flat,knew what her movements would be to a certain degree,DNA no prob [its expected to be there]no emotion shown when putting flowers down,created what looks an elaborate and cast iron alibi,could have put belongings in flat AFTER he came back from Sheffield,waited to report her missing [purposly] thats my take on thngs [alledgedly]

I have accumulated nearly a drawer full of odd socks over the years, several of which are grey.
Like that bloke who turned up at the house with a random sock I feel it is my civic duty to send them all off to Avon and Somerset so that they can be eliminated from enquiries. Maybe others will do the same. Just think that with all those millions of grey socks out of the way it will narrow down the field for them to concentrate their attention on those people who have not sent them socks....... amongst whom MUST BE THE KILLER! Case rests m'lud. |

there has been no confirmation of what she was wearing when found.on the cctv she looked to be wearing a green sweater and dark jeans.if this is how she was dressed when found it could be concluded that she died friday night,probably before midnight.it narrows everything down to a tight timeframe.if the sock is the murder weapon,its likely to have been discarded with the pizza/pizza packaging as there is little doubt now that the flat is the crime scene. if she had been having an affair, you would expect it would have come to light by now. with the amount of information in the public domain, and assuming that police know quite a bit more,i hope we`ll have closure on this soon for everyones sake.

yeah maybe we would solve this case if we knew all the facts from the start why wait until now to tell us about a missing sock.
also if she supposedly went missing during the time her bf was away how come her body didnt appear until after his return. |

Covered in heavy snow.
The craziest bits about this are 1) The killer carried the body from the flat to the vehicle - an incredibly risky thing to do. And how would this action benefit him? 2) The body was dumped on a verge next to a road. It's been called a 'lane', but it's not my idea of a lane. It's a tarmaced 'B' road. Should have been found by passers by the next morning - but for the heavy snow. |

Good points wur. I have been thinking about this and if it were the boyfriend who did it on the friday night did he take the body and dump it with the intention of it being found on the saturday. As you point out, from what we've seen it isn't a 'lane' in the true sense of the word.If she had been found then he would have been in Sheffield and at a distance whereas when he returned on sunday did he panic and realise that the body was under snow and worry about having to report Joanna missing?

If I'd killed somebody and I had access to their property and knew that no-one was going to be there for 48 hours, I think I would try to muddy the waters as much as possible. Let's be honest, based on what we know, very little of this actually makes sense....

Nothing about this makes much sense at all, complete mystery: No one has come forward that has seen anything significant. No real motive apparent. Did she know her killer or killers ? What on earth possessed police to arrest the landlord? People are questioning the police and investigation speed but without answers its hard to see fast progress to this case. A sock and a Pizza are missing, but why would they be kept ? |

I can understand the police being a little selective in the information they give out but IMO they're making a total mess of it. Telling us one thing then a few days later saying the opposite (she was found fully clothed. oh no, she actually wasn't etc etc).
The more correct information they give to the public, within reason, the better chance it will jog someones memory. |

This theory still holds up.Lift from someone she knows invites him into flat relaxes has some cider takes off coat and boots inebriated guest aroused. Remembers pizza left in car parked outside go out together no need for boots just a few yards gets in car then attacked .

What exactly have the public been asked for help on?
Anybody seen Joanna?..... She wasn't actually wearing the distinctive white jacket we led you to believe she was wearing. Anybody seen a pizza box?..... might or might not be empty and might have been dumped in a bin that has already been carted off to the local tip. Anybody seen a possibly light coloured 4 x 4 driving around in a rural area? Anybody seen a grey sock over the past 3 weeks? Come on guys jog your memory. We know that if you knew you were looking for a grey sock over the past 3 weeks you might have noticed one somewhere but if you didn't realise that it might have any significance at all it would register in your brain as much as hedgehog that had been run over... i.e. for about 5 seconds as you try to avoid it never to enter your conscious thinking again. Either they don't really want the public's help because they know the killer and are waiting for the clincher or they are taking everybody for complete mugs. My money is on this case appearing on December 2011 Crimewatch hoping for any callers who may have seen someone wearing one sock and no shoes getting strangled in the snow but thinking at the time it was just pre-Christmas high spirits. :( |

Really don't see how the witholding of the sock info is going to catch out the killer,Squares  And if it could have , why reveal it now .It's just another blunder. The only thing we can be sure of is that The Police are Complete Mugs. |
