Didn't the landlord say he saw her leaving with 2 other people ... this would seem to be the case if there was anything in this CCTV were she was being followed by 2 people.

Yes Fish . All her stuff being left like that makes it seem she was killed in the flat anyway so removing the body serves no purpose.

Pretty sure would have to go outside

that's your assumption. there may be a central hallway inside as is often the case with these conversions.

if she didn't have to go outside to get to the landlord's flat she may have thought ok, i'll just wear these thick hiking socks.

she must have been killed on the way home, must be far easier to put belongings in the flat rather then murder in the flat then move body.

have they checked whether she went to the school the landlord taught at? I think it was an all-boys school (not sure), if so she might have been there under disguise, then at some stage when she was living in the house he sussed out the ruse, wanted to have a word with her about it but it got a bit out of hand.

Can't be discounting any theories, as the police say, however far-fetched they may appear to be .....

good value, the landlord was sprung after police tested DNA found on Joanna. He cannot be favourite.

I do hope that, when they were sifting through the 263 tonnes of rubbish looking for the pizza box, someone mentioned to them, "Oh.... and whilst you at it if you see any socks in there....".

imvho they are treating the gen public like mugs.

First it was "Anybody seen a pizza box?"

Then it was "Anybody seen a 4 x 4?"

Now we are supposed to be looking for a sock.

As has been said they know who did it but can't nail them for it as no conclusive DNA forensics or confession.

What did they do before DNA?.... Oh, hang on, I think I remember!

pls clarify if that's been stated by plod, and a reference, or whether it's just what you are assuming.

Sock handed in been ruled out. Saw bout 1 second of it on tv. It was black ankle sock. Reporting has been shiote to. The teams will be called back to london if "random man finds random sock" is best they can do

if killed at flat just no way killer is then going to undertake the risky business of removing it - just leave it there.
if killed away from flat it's easy to imagine killer (having established victim lived alone/BF away) might take her keys and some personal stuff (phone, boots, coat) round to flat just to confuse police?
lets hear no more about the neighbour (unless someone wants to put him in the frame proper) responding to a request for help from LL to "move a body" , that cracks me up that does

"Part of police strategy" not to mention the sock until nearly 2 weeks after body discovered.

Also, obviously part of police strategy when appealing for the public's assistance to exclude one of the biggest national news broadcasters from their press conference.

Would serve them right if they were inundated with calls from people claiming they may have seen a sock somewhere over the past 3 weeks.

might have taken the sock off and used it on his hand and used as a glove so not to leave finger prints on whatever he was touching

Possible desp but killer must jave known for sure flat was empty and exact location. Onlylandlord or someone close to her would know that.

just dont get why someone would kill her in the flat then attempt to move the body,, really risky and hard thing to do and at the same time take a pizza and a sock but leave loads of other things like coat , keys and drinks of cider

so it would be handy if any sock was covered in pizza,
people are now confusing timings, sightings and alibi,s because the police arnt confirming or denying much of what is said
people suggested that the landlord was arrested because of differences in what he told sky and the police, but surely after originaly telling police what he saw, he would have been checked out and obviously nothing was found as he was allowed to do as he please, subsequent differences in stories shudnt have led to arrest if no more evidence had been found

Maybe landlord did see 3 people leaving the flat at 9 while parking his car .The statement he made to the police would be very interesting.
