The fact that the body was dumped so close to the Quarry but not in it would suggest the killer didn't know the area whch i think the police suggested as well so that also could be the bf as they were new to the area.

The position on Longwood Lane where the screen/scene of crime tent was put up seems to be just at the turning for the quarry where there was a wire fence.

Where the family laid flowers was just before that point but still where there is a wire fence.

The stone wall begins further up after the quarry entrance turning and it appears that that is where the flowers are now being laid and where idiots on the telly assume the body was found.

Yes the place is available on Google Maps and streetview and also Google Earth.

Area we are looking at is southern end of Longwood Lane, west side of road. There are quarries on both sides but the other side quarry is further up.

Interestingly, just opposite the quarry turning is a public footpath/cycleway entrance with what looks like a chain across it.

My interpretation without any evidence is that whoever dumped Joanna's body pulled off Longwood Lane into the turning but couldn't go any further as the gates were locked and just dumped the body there.

Looks like Plod have put a "Did you see anything?" sign up next to the stone wall where people are now laying flowers and where telly people have jumped to the conclusion that Joanna's body was found.

If you look at footage from when news that a body had been found you will see that the cordoned off area is NOT next to a stone wall but at the quarry turning.

If a "crime expert" has been theorising on the telly about how the culprit tried to dump the body over the wall then it just goes to show how credible they really are as experts! i.e. NOT!

it`s clear that he is referring to the boots and coat and that she would not leave in the snow without them.i think a receipt for the tesco pizza was also in the flat.police should have understood the gravity of the situation on the sunday night.

i think her father is assuming she was killed on the friday night because the flat was still untidy on sunday night.considering she was alone for the weekend,considering the extreme weather,considering they were "devoted" to each other and she wasn`t answering his texts on friday night and probably sat/sun, shouldn`t b/f have contacted friends/family about his concerns,perhaps even neighbours/landlord before he came home sunday night and if not why not?is it possible she was murdered on sunday night?if she ate the pizza friday night and died on sunday, the pizza would not show in the autopsy and it would explain why it wasn`t in the flat.if they had fallen out,wouldn`t that be a reason not to answer his texts and also a reason for him not to tell anyone that she wasn`t answering. finally he comes home on sunday,she hadn`t answered his calls and the place was still a mess after she bedded in for the weekend even though she was supposed to clean up.is that a recipe for a blazing row? all supposition of course.

Im convinced she was murdered very shortly after arriving home on the Friday.

A girl at a party in a property opposite  popped out for and **** heard two screams around 9pm

It seems Jo was found wearing the same clothes she had worn on Friday minus her coat, boots and one sock.

The bottle of cider only had a few mouthfuls drunk.

Her valuables were still in her bag

She was not seen or heard from after phoning her friend on the journey home.

The cat and its droppings had not been tended to for some time.

This makes me think she was attacked very very shortly after arriving home. Now if she had a welcome guest and things turned nasty this would likely take some time as the conversation went from pleasant to grim ,she would probably have drank more of the cider in that time  and the pizza would have been cooked and at least partially eaten. However if someone was already in the flat things would escalate very quickly on her discovering that person.I believe it is almost 100% that she knew her killer. The killer was in the flat and was not invited in or forced their way in.

Good point, if she wasn't killed shortly after she got home then she'd have drank the cider, surely. So Friday is looking likely.

the DNA sample on her body could have been, Slava-Sperm-Blood-Hair-Skin.
and the police must know more than they have reported, but surely the DNA eveidence
would clear the 2 most likely suspects (?)  reckon this was why they suddenly released the L/L.

So if it was not anyone close to her, this could take months or 1 or 2 years to solve,
just hope they do find out and it is not an unsolved case.

i think it's clear the tensions that now exist between police and media prove the police have messed up. U have to understand how the media work. There is no way on earth they would have run all that stuff about the LL without plod tipping them the wink. Off the record plod would've said to media he is our man.
When this has turned out to be nonsense and the media now face a huge bill when LL sues, the media have turned on plod for leading them up the garden path. Plod have reacted by banning ITN from press conferences.

The police are sure she was killed in the flat. If its not one of the two main suspects who else would remove the body? no one surely.The notion that someone was trying to confuse the police is farcical, an opportunist killer would flee, would most likely have sexually assaulted the victim and maybe even robbed her if he was a druggie..A hired killer would not bring a knife to a gunfight, in other words he wouldn't risk attempting to strangle the target, he would be armed.

What would the motive be? Not robbery, not sexual assault what could it be? It all leads back to the same place every time.

I thought it was only about 3 miles, but further if routes avoiding the bridge are used.

I think the location where the body was found would suggest someone with good local knowledge, so someone who had spent a good part of their life in the area or who knows it from what is in the area, ie. the golf courses. 

It does look as if the perpetrator(s) had wanted to get the body over the wall/fence into a far-off corner of the quarry site which would have made discovery very difficult (so he/they might have had a fair idea what was on the other side).  Two people would surely have been able to manage that, unless disturbed by the sound of a vehicle coming, but a major struggle for one perhaps.

As for the dna sample we dont know what it is yet. Having been in the pub for Xmas drinks i imagine she would have kissed plenty of people goodbye. Could that produce a dna sample?

this is the link for the sky news report that i watched last night , watch the video and the place they go to which is where the body was found ,, they look oevr the wall and everything, also look at the lane though,, a car stopping anywhere in that area is going to stick out like a sore thumb, also the verge where the body was left is so thin i cant beleive nobody foudn it earlier if it had been there a long time unless they covered the body up really well even with the extra snow over a few days its right up against the road either for a car goign past or someone walkign past. If they did cover it up really well they must have spent a fair while there doing it ,, again the worst possible place to pull up and try not to be noticed,, they seemed to have taken a massive risk or didnt know that area that well
