Apache Stronghold had Carberry sitting up wondering what he was gonna have for his dinner that night. Never even got to the hands n heels stage...Carberry didnt even move man
By:
ok mate,we may read it a bit differently.
Anyway, they are both players in whats still early days for a novice hurdle at the festival. Just think the prices are not reflective of what ive seen. |
By:
Noel Meades record in the festival novice hurdles is probably only bettered by the big three. While Apache Strongehold looked impressive the last day he previously barely scraped home against Clonard Lad who started at 8/1 a price which tells us how he rates amongst the WM novices. Besides we dont really know how much AS had in hand the last day as PCs rides can be quite deceptive. At 12/1 Faugheen is value .

that's the thing I don,t like with carberry, straight legs arse up in the air, I love it when he goes from cruise control to that rowing motion like he,s being swept off a waterfall in a dinghy
By:
That's cos Apache is improving, as I imagine most novices are.Best to look at the latest form imo.
Watching that race he had plenty in hand to my eyes. |
By:
Apache improved a ton for his debut run so I wouldn't hold the form down with the horse in 2nd that day tbh.
Alleged, Azorian hung around the bend badly against Briar Hill and must have lost a good few lengths. Bally, you're quite partial to an aftertime or two aint ya?! |
By:
This got interesting today!! He def doesn't deserve to be 8/1 based on what he's achieved over hurdles so a decent chunk of his price must be on reputation. As someone who took a punt before his first run this season I am please laddies have dropped from so high to so low as it either means they know something, or there has been some decent money for him when they were standout. I am anxiously waiting with bated breath for his next race.

he did sint but he hardly lost momentum
fwiw I think AS would beat BH, but BH would make him work for it and he,d be in a battle. I just think faugheen has that pace that would get AS off the bridal 2 out plus has that stamina to see him off easy. I doubt AS will meet faugheen before the Neptune so this is all academic really lol ![]() |
By:
AS wont meet Faugheen before then as he will probably get another sore toe or something!
By:
I forgot you have to prove everything up front so Sintonian you can catch my tips on an alternative thread in advance.not got time to traipse through previous threads clearly highlighting that Pont Alexandre had no chance in Neptune and to get on The New One and Rule The World
By:
In fact if you have a spare minute Sintonian you will find on page 6 under "Pont Alexandre-whats he beat?" started by myself you will see my arguments for Rule The World at 12/1 and The New One at 16/1.top 2 in Neptune with the good thing pumped in 3rd...alas...this year I've my views up on stevo1s thread a good few months before the event just so there is no confusion.

In fact took a minute to read through all the threads and I was worried about The new one gettin home over 2m5f...shows how much I know.Lump on Faugheen

The threads this year have been a lot better than previous years-lot less stupid arguments.
Be nice to keep it that way imo. |

Faugheen's only entry next week is over three miles at Limerick... Those of us who've backed him for the Neptune are being put through the ringer already

By:
Indeed! Mullins does have about half the field though so just have to hope he's not declared

Whats wrong alleged?

entered over 3 miles looks like my Neptune bet is now down the swanney
By:
I wouldnt panic yet mate. Think Brair Hills price for the 3 miler tells us more
By:
Are confirmations out for sat at Limerick yet? Surely he's better than a 3m grade 3 there!
By:
Hold your hat tory. Vautour, who looked mighty impressive in an egg and spoon maiden hurdle race over 2 miles last time is also entered! I'd be surprised if either of them take up this option but in the wider scheme of things, the trip means precious little. I'm still not convinced that Faugheen isn't their Supreme horse.

If with you festival (think I posted so when early entires came out) but alleged's reaction made me think he was confirmed. From what I can tell, WPM has 7 entries so doubt Faugheen would run

Meant to say 'I'm with you festival'! On iPhone and unless anyone knows better, can only view this through safari and isn't ideal for writing. Need a community app!

i hope he doesn't so he dream is still alive...

Seems a strange move to me - unless simply looking to get more experience into him before tackling better races.
By:
Proper test tomorrow with AZORIAN in opposition. If FAUGHEEN wins this by 10-20 lengths again, then we will know that he is a machine. Hope he goes for Neptune, as I have him in Trixie at 16s, but also have him 12/1 to win at the Festival.
By:
It shows you what i know. I thought Faugheen was a Neptune horse, and said to myself he'd be more likely for the supreme (on less than good ground) than the 3 miler.
By:
Same as most people - myself included!
Think Azorian could put it right up to him tomorrow - av him to win any race at least but would av said AB last of the 3! |
By:
Same as all above - had him down as Neptune with running in supreme being the main danger. Gutted as have a nice Neptune position but hasn't drifted for that race on here yet which is a bit interesting
By:
Will still go Neptune I think
