Loosen my load beaten 10l by Ghizao
Loosen my load beaten 10l by Realt Dubh. One is 6/1 other is 25/1. Don't make sense to me. Also Cristal Bonus is an interesting one at 33/1. Makes his chase debut on friday. |
By:
Ghizao is 6/1 because he has won his last two races in good company, one of them being round Cheltenham. Realt Dubh isn't as good as people think he is. The race he won last time out was a poor renewal and please don't say Mikeal D'Haguenet was in there so it wasn't poor. That horse is not the same plus running that horse over 2 miles is crazy.
By:
Meade rates Realt Dubh quite highly but im not sure what to make of that race. On better ground i'd rather given Torphicen another chance. I know he was well beaten, but just like his attitude and jumping.
Meade's record at Cheltenham aint all that great either imo |
By:
Quel Esprit hammered Torphicen on his seasonal debut, he is a really good horse but Quel had a nightmare at Cheltenham last year. He would have ran a massive race in the Neptune Investment if he didn't come down early on in the race. He wasn't right in the Albert Bartlett so forget that run. He will be a huge contender in the RSA Chase.

Mayweather, I think I have been naieve here .. are you Eric_Morris ?

By:
I like Torphicen's attitude, and jumping. I have read the form.

Just back on Ghizao, he if fav on his form with captain chris and loosen my load alone yes?
Can't find anything else decent in those two races. |
By:
start by following journos, bookies and trainers/jocks. then search for #horseracing hashtag and you'll soon pick up some good people to follow - then just join in
By:
Yeah jshw got me started on who to follow. Will have a further look at this # horseracing.
Cheers |

At least Ghizao has won two races on the bounce, more than most other horses than done this season. Ghizao has won his races easily and had plenty in hand at the finish. He gave 10lbs away to Captain Chris and a beating. You concentrate on your horses mate, I know Ghizao will get there on the day and give a big run.
By:
Very antagonistic you are. You need to take it easy. Discussion is what this place is for. Not berating people who have a different opinion.
I asked if Ghizao's price was based on his form with Captain Chris and Loosen My Load. Neither have a chance in an arkle. |
By:
comedy gold, last year this forum was excellent for ante-post thoughts, this year it's a trolling/sock puppeting asylum...sad but sometimes hilarous..moderators required imo.
By:
Beats me why someone would want to tell how much he puts on a horse,as if anyone cares.
By:
Must admit I prefer the more considered posts and posters. Statements like 'I've already told you the winner, Ghizao' and 'I know Ghizao will get there on the day and give a big run.' are antagonistic because the poster knows none of those things.
For what it's worth my opinion (and that's all it is) is that Ghizao probably deserves to be favourite but the form lines are not that strong (Captain Chris perhaps not as good as anticipated) and there is also more than a suspicion that he needs a bit of cut. There are a few intriguing ones yet to jump a fence in public (Quwetwo - probably also needs cut, Cristal Bonus, Flat Out and even Ronaldo des Mottes) but they all look short enough in the market to make guess work about their potential over fences unwarranted. Having said that, I would n't be that surprised if the Arkle winner has n't jumped a fence yet. |

Anyone in mind??
To be honest i really think the front 2 in the betting have it between them, just cannot see anything else at the moment.I have had a dabble on Torphichen as i was impressed with his jumping on ground he would not have liked much, but only a small one at 60 on here!! Medermit dont jump well enough to win an Arkle, and the only other one i can see is Mikd,if what some think about him is true.Personally i think he is a stayer but thats just my opinion and current price is too big if i am wrong!! |
By:
Just so glad i took a nice price on Finians. At least it gives me the option of covering with Ghizao if i feel like it.
By:
Just the ones above, budd - I do think it's interesting that Cristal Bonus, having run so well in Bula on British debut, now goes straight over fences.
By:
i keep looking for pipes arkle horse?
could it be ndlt? |
By:
good point that,Pipe stable like this race, would not be the greatest surprise if one suddenly crept into the picture.
By:
only thing is budd, will they continue to target this race now that dj isnt owning as many horses..?
By:
Agree Rease, I see we both asked for cristal bonus to be added to the arkle. I took some after he was added.
Also think I'll go take Realt Dubh and Torphichen e/w at 25/1 and 40/1 respectively Have Mikael also for the Arkle. It's a poor renewal. |
By:
Give em a chance, they are novices mate.Who knows, the winner might turn out to be something special.
By:
I think the trouble is this year is we just have not seen any competative 2mile novice chases run. We missed the Henry VIII at sandown and the race at kempton over xmas and we just arnt getting a chance to see the best horses competing against each other. I personally think Finians Rainbow has an outstanding chance and jumped beautifully at newbury on debut; but I want to see him run in a bigger field against some proven horses.
By:
dont think we will have that luxury this year.
Fair play to you boys for getting Cristal Bonus added, could be an interesting one. |
By:
It was these comments by Williams after the Bula that caught my interest
"It was a very good race and you'd have to be over the moon with that. "I was absolutely delighted with him. He's only a four-year-old and he's a smashing horse. "I have got something in the back of my mind but I need to discuss it with the owner first and he's in the Far East." |

I dont think Quwetwo will be back in time to go over fences this season(again). For me this race is wide open at the moment. Ghizao has to be fav on what he has done so far but realistically he hasnt done much. Captin Chris could well not be as good as the hype over fences and since the start of the season ive looked at Loosen My Load as more ofa stayer. Finnians Rainbow was very impressive but Hells bay is never a 2miler. Medermit is a class animal and whilst i expect him to be bang there come march I cant see him winning it just yet. Everything else is 25s or bigger on here. This is an antepost betting race if I have ever seen one. Flat Out is very interesting but im a bit worried about how easily he was beat at Punchestown last season. I'll be going through the race over the weekend and will post any views afterwards. |
By:
Is he injured Abbott? Must have missed that - might want further than 2 miles and softish going but still think he'll be interesting over fences eventually.
By:
Good luck Abbot, you will have to use some imigination to get it beyond a 2 horse race-at this stage anyway.
By:
Medermit may have been running in better hurdle races, but he cant jump a fence well enough for an Arkle from what i have seen so far.
By:
Buddeliea i understand about Medermits novice jumping at times but he absolute winged a few fences and the fences that he has made mistakes he never really looked like falling, he's had 3 and a half outings which actually puts him there as the most experienced in the field bar Loosen My Load but I cant see him lining up. He has that Tidal Bay look about him over a fence, and If they go off like cats i can see Medermit destroying a fair few tired horses, Its all about opinions ofcourse and i can understand why people would want to be against Medermit.
Deffo agree with mayweather though. You seem new to this so I'll give you the heads up after the race is run this thread will get picked at by a fair few people i hope for you Ghizao wins because your sell by date could be up by the 15th of march |
By:
Trust me, Ghizao is a big player in the Arkle. If he improves again like I think he will, then he will be the horse they all have to beat. Remember, before he jumped a fence Timmy Murphy said he is the new Well Chief. Nobody thought he would win the Arkle at this stage of his year and he did. Get on now boys and girls, listen to the man that has tipped the winner of the Arkle twice out the last three years and 2nd the other year (Kalahari king).

By:
Are there any horses who are not favourites for their races that you fancy mayweather?
