I posted on the first page that Flat Out could be very interesting - no sign of him running yet though, although he started fairly late last season as well.

Kirk / Eric  - I have said freely on many of the threads that you have particiapted in that you clearly have plenty of knowledge of the history and patterns involved in the antepost racing world  - and I'll reiterate that again here. I don't think anyone is debating that.

However that wealth of knowledge applies equally to many other posters on here (me included I'm afraid whatever you want to say) and just like the rest of us you don't always get it right - but for some reason you get very defensive about this, and then so aggresive when you get it right, or someone else gets it wrong (see Royal Charm above) that you do yourself no favours. And now you are apparently unwilling to actually tell us what you fancy, which together with your infamous ablity to aftertime, is just laughable.

You claim other posters are driven by bets, but your massive threads on Zaynar and Steinbeck were classic examples of someone refusing to believe what was in front of their eyes and clinging to a position they had already taken. Though of course you can still cling to your belief that Steinbeck would have won the Guineas but for Ballydoyles breeding priorities getting in the way

You mention Menorah 'is the real deal' so does that mean you have a large bet on it - and if it dosen't win the CH will you accept you got it wrong, instead of blaming Phillip Hobbs, Dickie Johnson or anyone else (Ballydoyle, The Catholic Church, Simon Cowell?) of messing it up for you. For what it's worth, I feel Menorah is the best British hope right now, but as with many recent years they all seem 'much of a muchness' and if there is a horse who is simply different class to the rest (another Istabraq, Sea Pigeon etc) then it is Hurricane Fly, so I very much hope he can get there in 100% condition so we can find out.

Oh and in case you forgot Makfi won the 2,000 Guineas!!

Still as you say - back to the Arkle. Just hope we get some racing over Christmas.

I really think you guys should just add him to the forum blocker. Seriously the more people we get to do it the less his drivel will clog up threads. Why has this Arkle thread become about him, blocking him is not enough when you guys continue to be drawn into arguments with him.

click on his name, and then at the top of the page you click on block user. You have to use forum beta for this to work. You can see when he posts but it blocks out the drivel he spouts. It's a must to be fair. Does anyone who posts on here not think he's a complete tool? We need to get as many people to block him as possible and maybe he f**k off and stop posting on here.

True it'd be better if it made him vanish. But still it's better than nothing. Only thing is people still give him the time of the day and hence threads get destroyed by him even though I've him blocked. Need to get more people to join the block.

Mind you his jumping at speed is still under question ... if you dont conquer that Carvills Hill and the like let you know he has a lot to prove in that department and it could see him winning nowt.

The 2m Grade race he was enetered for in recent days was abandoned putting Mullins on the spot re the Fort Cheney entry once it was abandoned ... hilarious I just dont understand why he is going so far out of his way to keep punters in the dark when he knows which race he is say 80% sure to go for at the Festival?

BOOM giving 10lbs and a beating to good horses there Ghizao hope you took my advice. Now 6s the Arkle which is a very good price for those not already on.

I think Ghizao is the best we've seen so far, he has won a really competitive race at the course this season, will love day one Cheltenham ground, has the right connections, jumps really well upreserving energy nlike most we have seen and has a v good natural speed for 2m and an excellent kick. I am expecting further developments for the Arkle though and it isnt prospective stayer and your bet in the race Spirit River.

Looks like Ruby Walsh could be right relating Ghizao to a young Well Chief, reminds me of Well Chief also the way he travels and finishes as well as his build ... he is excellent over fences leaving his hurdle form well behind. Just what you look for in an Arkle horse.

btw eric, you let yourself down with ''your advice'' by not stipulating whether or not you are backing.

sintonian, you advised Royal Charm (which I advised against re his campaigning pattern), I advised Ghizao was the best seen so far which was a good indicator on who is a clueless guesser and who has 3 decades of clued up experience antepost. Ta ta keep guessing and talking a good game lad.

Haven't seen the race but don't see why another beating of Captain Chris (who I've never considered to be a realistic Arkle candidate) is worthy of cutting him to 4/1.

Again, as with Finnians, if you have some nice a/p prices well done but don't see any appeal in backing him now.

Sint - I agree that Ghizao has the best form in the book, and given the lack of obvious contenders 7/1 e/w is a fair shout, but he has never struck me as being absolutley top class - obviously he may not need to be as so far there is little really impressive 2m novice chase form on offer. Looking at the betting on here there are only about 4 horses who look to have a serious chance imo.

The weather forecast looks pretty good for the next few weeks so hopefully some of the other leading contenders (Mikael D'Haugenet, Finnians, Noble Prince etc) can show their hands.
