3.6 Avonnova tattsbet Please. Even the most staunch lover of this amazing Queensland beast could not take that

By:
Uncleee ..... Amazing how some who watch a couple of harness races a week want to argue with guys who spend 8+ hours a day analysing it. Thankfully Betfair allows us to bet directly against them

Chilli Palmer a huge chance Saturday night, sits on Avonnova all the way and then unleashes
|
|
By:
it was woeful in the nugget after having a great run in transit, from memory it even got a nice cart up into the race. Don't know why I'm bothering anyway the race is of very little interest to me other than if quinny wins it will prove just how bad those horses are as it fell over the line against my hard copy last start and copagrin three starts back.
|
|
By:
Goes to show how abysmal the Perth horses are, My Hard Copy was a C1 horse when Peace had it (got beat in a C1 two starts before leaving Vic). Just another who has gone to Perth as an ordinary horse and turned into a FFA'er. Grades below proper horses over there
|
|
By:
Its nothing special raced out of its class in that race, just goes to show how average a number of your trainers are hall obviously got the horse actually fit for a change. First things most of the trainer over here do with those ex vic horses is actually work them properly and get them fit for the first time in their lives.

By:
chilli palmers only hope in this one AD is to drop in behind STI 3 pegs. Can't remember a sunshine sprint being won my a horse whooshing down the outside.
|
|
By:
Yes Lets, every horse that goes to WA roars through its grades, so it must be the trainers. Seriously, stick to gallops, you are way out of your depth.
Gatespeed, don't think he needs to be whooshing down the outside. Lobs close enough in the running line behind the right horse. If he is mine no way he goes 3 pegs, no worse 1x2 in the run and won't have to see daylight until very late |

Just like north are an emerging powerhouse eh AD

You have been wrong about every football debate we have ever had, although you are too small to admit it.
You have now shown your harness racing knowledge is abysmal. Seriously, why argue with people who clearly focus on this sport more than you? Just shows you have no idea how much you don't know |
|
By:
By the way, smart move to change the subject from the topic where you are clearly out of your depth, well played

|
By:
I didn' admit anything about my harness racing knowledge which am happy to test against anyone especially your good self, just have no interest in having a repetitive circular argument with insular people like your good self when it's clearly proven that any horse of any ability that goes to a decent stable over here improves considerably on their Vic form.

VK
Syd and Vic are a Different Class to WA When horses on mark here send to WA. If they Mo and have ability then they are the best ones as they win 3-4 in a row then are just numbers. Plus that water that has Energy, Power, Endurance helps |

Quinny goes 1.51.8 from the death (i think) in a trial
can't be going to bad Lets Talk the race up - one of the best Harness Races in a long time in my opinion and the draw sets it up brilliantly i feel Mach Beauty 1 Avonova 2 Quinny 6 Suave Stuey 7 Chilli Palmer 9 Suave Stuey Lombo's track record at Albion Park over 1660 Mile Rate: 1:51:8 Lead Time: 3.2 First Quarter: 26.9 Second Quarter: 28.5 Third Quarter: 27.7 Fourth Quarter: 29.0 Avonova's run last Saturday Mile Rate: 1:52:5 Lead Time: 3.5 First Quarter: 28.3 Second Quarter: 29.4 Third Quarter: 27.9 Fourth Quarter: 27.0 |

re ITMQ's trial |
|
By:
if quinny wins from there in its current form it show exactly how bad those horses really are. Trials are trials they are a guide that's all in trials you're rarely if ever under the same pressure as can occur in a race. They're are a useful guide at times.

Suave Stuey Lombo's track record at Albion Park over 1660
Track Rating: GOOD Gross Time: 1:55:3 Mile Rate: 1:51:8 Lead Time: 3.2 First Quarter: 26.9 Second Quarter: 28.5 Third Quarter: 27.7 Fourth Quarter: 29.0 I was there that night to witness the record....leaders went crazy ...stablemate odds on or thereabouts ...Stuey with hotty lauren doing the steering...rank outsider at 50's or so (from my memory) |
|
By:
Not sure that you know exactly who spends how much time on their harness racing form AD. Very elitist comment. Opinion game, everyone is entitled to one.
|
|
By:
Mach Beauty was half fit when Suave Stuey Lombo rolled him the other week. I am sure those doing 8+ hours per week have been watching the Tritton machine roll on. A lot of them are going like things from another planet. Horrific draw for Avonnova. Cannot cross the 1 and cannot sit parked or win with cover. Gap him.
If Chilli Palmer does go three pegs then there is a genuine chance that Quinny could lob the 1/1. Condagen has no speed and if Terror Time drifts back there is a chance he can slot in. Tricky call for McCarthy but not too many better in a big race. |
|
By:
Okhaden you are better than that, he openly says he only watches some races and is primarily a gallops punter, just gets annoying when he wants to continually denegrade those who do this full time. I don't argue with him about gallops because I spend my days focused on this stuff!
No way they go to the pegs with Chilli Palmer. Have Avonnova's back guaranteed and will be able to settle close enough in that position. Maybe they can't catch Mach Beauty but surely around the 7/1 mark is overs? |
|
By:
yeah fair call not to go to the pegs. not a bad each way bet. still surprised Mach Beauty is not the fav though. leader over the mile. should be 6/4

Just because someone disagrees with your almighty assessment doesn't mean they're denigrating you, you have consistently denigrated and rubbished me for having the temerity to disagree with you and then mount a logical argument in support of my assessment. I'll give you the tip I was correct about Cb and my inters assessment as was my analysis of most features that I've bothered to post on here.
I read form and video's as good anyone and have been proven to do so for years I would spend as much time on the trots (locals) as I do on the gallops just because you choose to specialise in a code doesn't make you a better judge mate or a lesser one. One thing I am very good at and always have been is assessing a class horse either at the gallops or at the trots I don't need to do form on every single race on a program to be able to do that. I certainly don't do an in depth analysis every race at the gallops or at the trots. I limit myself to raced where I think there is a class horse or horses and or potentially some value, I have little interest in backing bad non winning horses and trying to get them on their day unless unless their reputation isn't earned or alternatively are a ridiculous price far in excess of what they should be. I do however have a cursory look at most races to see if there is anything of interest that may be worth delving into further. Anyway good luck to you I said earlier on this thread that there are many good judges on here including your good self but if you want to continue to carry on that's your perogative, I have no interest in wasting any further time debating a completely nonsensical circular argument but if you want to, go for it mate. |

By:
If they had half a brain they would hand up on Mach Beauty to Avonova and try to use its speed to outsprint Avonova in the straight it avoids being pressured, it has a softer run in transit and gives it a winning chance Thought both it and Suave Stuey lombo's recent runs have been good and Avonova's after watching the replays today.
From what I've seen Quinny from that awkward draw will need everything to go his way and have them cut each other up and get the right cart into the race to win, then again its hard to line up exactly what Avonova and co. have actually been beating. No idea what the betting is and haven't looked but if Quinny's short it's a definite lay if you are inclined to lay horses. Think chilli palmer would need to have a lot to go right as well judging by the way it crabbed around the track first up there thought its win three starts back was very good but again what did it beat??? Better suited from the draw and with McCarthy driving but needs to improve a lot to win on face value and manner in which got around the track at presumably its first start there is a real concern for mine. Any danger that suave stuey won't get around albion park??? I haven't been following them enough and don't know if it has been there before or not. Can't see how Crombie, Copagrin and My Hard Copy would be competitive here against the main chances so that further works against quinny as he has been from impressive against those horses recently. |

By:
Umm ............... Mach Beauty hand up to Avonnova??
Umm ............... I'll let people who know these horses well make a judgement on that. Oh dear |

ok. that could be the worst comment I have ever read. ever.

And you suggested it was elitest of me to question him when he wants to argue with those who do this with some level of success. Shame on you Okhaden, almost as if you are new here

hahaha not new here but logged back in with a different account when I re-joined the conversation so thought in this phase of it I'd keep going with this account. I actually thought you were having a go at something I said as well. anyway at least everyone has had a good laugh now.

yep the handing up comment with the Suave Stuey Lombo kicker (he is the track record holder) should clinch the gong
|
|
By:
If it hands up it potentially make it harder for your Chilli Palmer, Mach Beauty won an inters heat through not leading and sitting on them and it means it won't get hammered, Suave Stuey Lombo sat outside it last start and was far too strong for it.
Mach Beauty is likely to cop more pressure in this than in its previous race in arguably what is a much stronger field, it has in most of its runs that I've seen displayed a weak streak and it would arguably have more high speed over a short distance than Avonova especially if the stablemate has pressured Avonova in the run but of course one stablemate working for another would never happen or isn't at least a possibility. At the supposedly top level Mach Beauty is in my opinion from that draw has more chance of winning by sitting on the leaders back than if it led for those very reasons. As for assessment AD you actually think Chilli Palmer's a realistic winning chance after the manner in which it crabbed around the track and failed to hit the line last start then again you did think CB was a realistic wining ch in the inters final eh. OK geniuses I also made it perfectly clear that I hadn't been paying attention to eastern states harness racing recently because quite frankly it's as boring as batshiit. I specifically said I didn't know if Suave Stuey Lombo had gone around there, maybe that was written in Swahili or something because the chronically braindead didn't bother to read or mention that fact because it didn't suit their pathetic juvenile attempts to ridicule. Some of you clowns really need to grow up. Unlike some of the geniuses / clowns on here I assess on recent form not past performances which are largely but not always irrelevant I only need to watch the replays of their past four or five runs along with the sectional time information from those races if I haven't seen them to be able to accurately assess how these horses are going but then again maybe you aren't capable of that. |

70% IMQ should Brain them.

Queensland horseman Ian Gurney is finally living his dream.
The likeable harness racing fanatic is still pinching himself with the success of his own stable star Avonnova who lines up in Saturday night’s Gr.2 $60,000 Garrards Sunshine Sprint at Albion Park. Claimed late last year for a mere $20,000 from Sydney, Gurney has transformed the talented free-legged pacer into a ruthless killer on the racetrack. In 17 starts for Gurney, Avonnova has won 11 times while he has managed to win 8 of his last 9 starts with only Inter Dominion/Miracle Mile hero Beautide standing in between his winning sequence. Avonnova ran a fighting second behind Beautide in the Gr.1 $100,000 Len Smith Mile at TABCORP Park, Menangle back in April. Since returning from that Sydney trip, Avonnova has exploded to a higher level and rates as a legitimate threat against the likes of champion pacer Im Themightyquinn and the Shane Tritton speed freaks Mach Beauty and Suave Stuey Lombo. And Gurney is shaking his head in disbelief. “I can’t believe the run I’m having currently, I bought this horse with my good mate Paul (Montgomery) just to have some fun and never in my wildest dreams did I expect to be rubbing shoulders with the likes of Im Themightyquinn, Beautide and the like. It’s just amazing and it’s so exciting.” Gurney said. Avonnova, who had stints with the likes of respected trainers Steve Turnbull and Kerryann Turner before being claimed has thrived on the warmer Queensland sunshine and the one on one attention afforded by Gurney which has paved the way for his rise to stardom. The Art Major seven-year-old gelding has quickly established himself as the biggest/strongest and fastest open class horse in the state and will test his mettle against a strong interstate invasion during the month of July at Albion Park leaving Gurney excited by the challenge. “I don’t do anything fancy with Nova but obviously he enjoys the warmer weather and the special attention he gets from my wife Ange and her daughters who really spoil him between races. There is no secret to my success; I think I just got lucky. “He’s been great and he came at the right time for me, he’s the reason you get up early in the morning and do what we do with the horses. I’ve got a lot of people to thank for all the help and support I’ve received along the way. “Win, lose or draw on Saturday night, it doesn’t really matter because I’m just thrilled to be in a great Queensland race. But I think he will run another great race, he flew last week and Bart (Cockburn – driver) didn’t even pull the earplugs and I’m sure we would’ve smashed the record if we let him go but we were mindful of this race this weekend.” Gurney and his family have poured millions into the racing industries over a long period of time through ownership and sponsorship. The Gurney Group of Companies operates their successful earthmoving business and enjoy relaxing by racing and punting on their racehorses. In the past year, Gurney has convinced his brothers and uncles to invest more into harness racing as opposed to thoroughbred racing and the results have been astonishing through the deeds of exciting rookie pacers Smooth Showgirl and Birdy Mach. “I got them all together and we bought quite a few yearlings from the sales last year and the early results are very pleasing; Smooth Showgirl is already a Group One winner while Birdy Mach is rated by Luke McCarthy as one of the most gifted horses he’s been involved in. “Naturally we’re all very excited and very much looking forward to next month when they head to Victoria to contest the rich Australasian Breeders Crown series. “I’m just hoping the party will start this month here with Nova and we can continue to party in Melbourne. Harness Racing is more than a passion of mine; I love the sport and enjoy the thrill of winning.” With so much to look forward to this year, it’s great to see Gurney turning his dreams into reality. |

Good on him,
Hope he wins now. Puts a lot in. |
|
By:
Lloydy I seriously doubt he's even 70% at the moment, put it this way if he beats them without the others having really hard runs and the race ending up on platter for him it will speak volumes for ths standard of horse currently going around there so it will be interesting because what he's been beating here and only only just beating recently isn't anything special.
Nice honest horses but certainly no stars and the one legitimate top class horse he's come up against this prep David Hercules beat him convincingly and David Hercules wasn't even fully wound up at that stage. |
|
By:
David Hercules is a bit of a Milk Drinker as well.
Its his year to step up |
|
By:
He's not Lloydy, he's actually hindered by being trained in Perth as he has to race regularly at GP, he's a very, very, good horse but doesn't get around GP all that well if he has to come wide, this means he generally has to lead or sit in the death and as result when he goes to the death he often ends up having a lot of hard runs. He can do some work but he's not necessarily a work horse either.
He's nigh on unbeatable in front at GP when he's right. If he raced consistently at Melton or Menangle he would be an absolute star and run unbelievable time as he's actually also very good driven sit and sprint but he can't be driven that way at GP because of the track. He absolutely flies at Pinjarra and his record there is very, very, good against some very good young horses at the time and he's a much better horse now than he was back then. |
|
By:
Let's Elope if you actually had been reading this thread then you would have seen Suave Stuey Lombo's track record mentioned on this very page. Written in English. In fact you actually posted in between the two times it was written. So when you mention that the chronically brain dead failed to read your comments then perhaps you might do a little reading yourself.
|
|
By:
Funny, David Hercules has had a number of runs at Melton. NEVER won there coming from the back, but has looked great in front.
I guess some writers have chosen to dismiss all of these Melton runs which demonstrated the horse is a bona fide leader |
|
By:
DH has actually had 13 runs at Melton, HAD ONLY TWO RUNS AT PINJARRA, in one of those was beaten by some no name horse. Not raced at Pinjarra for over 3 years! But apparently he would be a superstar at Melton, as he is at Pinjarra ........................ oh dear
Okhaden ....... hope you now understand my point |
