Adelaide, i'm not sure what your saying, but let me tell you that the corps arent just getting rid of winners but also losers that aren't worth there while. if your not losing around 5-6% of your turnover with them they dont want your business. The uk model of bookmaking (not that u can call it that anymore) is all about accountants and playing the person. eg...if u turnover 100k a year and are losing about 2k they are still not interested in your business, they look at it as a numbers game and too them they are actually losing on that account

I thought a corporate bookmaker worked for Penguin putting our school texts together.

Penguin books are no longer allowed in schools. The authors are all racist homosexual homophobes and colonialists, fantasists and paedophiles and their dubious 'work' should not be exposed to the minds of impressionable children and adolescents in the 21st century.

Last Friday I openrd up an account with IASbet and deposited $7,000 to make the most of their 15% sign up bonus (max $1000 bonus). They said the cash bonus would appear in my account within 24 hours. I placed a $3,000 bet with them on Friday night and a $700 bet on Saturday and both the bets lost.
Come Monday morning my bonus still wasn't in my account so I rang them and they said that it would be in there within 24 hours. It wasn't. I rang them again today and they said that the risk management/trading team have refused my application for a bonus but they wouldn't give a reason. Is there anyone I can lodge a complaint to? Do I even have a leg to stand on? Surely they have to atleast give a reason for rejecting it... |
By:
Obviously you have been living on Mars, the past six months.
I'll bump a couple of threads on these pricks, for your benefit. |
By:
Charkitz,
You can lodge a written complaint at the following address: gamblingdisputes@nt.gov.au I am not sure if your particular issue comes into the realms of a gambling dispute, but it's worth a shot, right? If they have clearly advertised the bonus and it is in plain English (gotta watch the fine print!), you should be able to enforce it, but I hope you're patient. |
By:
No Castiron I have been living on Earth.
It's just I never used to read forums much but do so now. Wish I had read that thread before I donated $3,700 bucks to them. CS the bonus they offered was as clear as mud and their terms and conditions are straight forward (turnover the full amount deposited + bonus amount etc etc). Not sure what I did wrong. Maybe they thought I was only signing up to get the bonus... Dunno just be nice to get a reason for why they rejected it. But yeah I'll lodge a complaint, can't do any harm. Cheers for the address |
By:
Charkitz if there were no terms and conditions violated by you I would think they have violated consumer law and a complaint to the ACCC would be warranted
By:
Maybe they thought you were that bad that the initial deposit was likely to be lost without a whimper, along with it any bonus. Or did you forget to reset your modem before opening another account with them?
If it is as you say though they are clearly in the wrong. Problem for you though, is that they have that many different bullshit statements in the terms and conditions, that at the smell of a complaint against them they are just as likely to give you the bonus, and then limit your bets to 10-20 bucks so you can never turnover the 35k required before being eligible to make a withdrawal. |

These conmen really have nobody to answer to and can pretty much do as they like. Had another phone call this morning from another mob that I haven't bet with for days informing me that my account is cancelled, so I can't even log in to check any history with them. No reason given. Had 3 bets with them since 23/6, 2 losing, then 1 bet at half time in the footy.
Wonder how hard it is and how much it would cost to start up one of these. Would easily be able to get to the top of the food chain within 12 months if you did it right, and you wouldn't need to ban anybody. |
By:
BJT I'M guessing they have an industry list of "problem" customers and you'll have trouble with them all, no matter how small or large you bet.
By:
Charkitz, if u live in Victotia u r not entitled to any bonus
By:
BJT this is the first account I've had with them. It was a completely legit account that I opened with them. If I was trying any funny business I wouldn't have the nerve to complain about it!
Logroller I live in Queensland. Before I deposited funds into my account with them I rang them to ensure that I qualified for their bonus and they confirmed that I did. All they asked was that I sent them proof of my address which I did and they then emailed me to say that my address had been verified. I can handle having my bets limited at different bookmakers (that saves me money in most cases!!), but to offer me a bonus and then renig on it without an expalnation isn't right, they shouldn't be allowed to get away with it. The fact I made them nearly 4,000 bucks richer in the process just adds salt into the wound. Anyway I'm going to write up a complaint now and send it off. It probably won't get me the bonus but atleast it will heighten the awareness of what these **** are doing. |
By:
We already know what they're doing. They're pigs. There are at least 2 other threads related to these crooks already.
By:
Yeah I realise that now. But heightening the awareness even greater can't do any harm.

Good luck with your endeavours. As they are registered in the NT, I believe it is a waste of time contacting anyone there. |

Something else just came to my attention, but this one relates to Sportingbet/Centrebet.
Be very careful when placing head to head wagers with this company. I have checked the terms regarding payouts in the event of a draw and it appears that they have changed the rules. Because they list draw as a separate bet in the website, and its placement is ambiguous as to which market it pertains to, they may attempt to not pay half face value of the ticket. There are no stated rules on their website for regular season events, as follows: 153. AUSTRALIAN RULES FOOTBALL Payouts are based on the official declared result. Any extra time played is included for betting purposes. For matches without extra time, a draw is always included for margin betting and any bets placed on either team by a margin will be considered losing bets in the case of a draw. 159. For match betting on a Grand Final, the betting is specific to the next match played; or the current match, in the case of live [in running] betting. In the case of a draw, bets on the match winner will be paid out at half face value and all other match-specific bets will be settled. Bets will not carry over to any replay and a new market will be framed for any subsequent matches There is enough ambiguity in these rules that you may be struggling to mount a case to get half face value paid. Be wary. |
By:
I rang them to clarify just now. The girl I spoke to was insistent that a draw was a loss in head to head betting. I then spoke to someone else who said the opposite.
They don't even know their own rules, and yet we are expected to. |
By:
draw is dead heat rules, unless they have a price showing for draw in HTH market
By:
Go to the website, nick. If you can say with absolute certainty that you won't have a fight on your hands should they decide not to pay you, good luck to you.
By:
I fail to see the point? Looks to me that 153 says that a draw is offered in margin betting so if you take the margin you lose your bet if a draw.
The Grand Final is only included because the official winner of the flag depends on a different match. If a draw on match betting, it pays on the result of that game, and not the "official premiers" of the season. Seems pretty clear to me. But then, oh forget it, he wouldn't get the insult anyway. |
By:
59. A “Dead-Heat” occurs when two or more competitors are officially declared to have finished equal. This applies
to both winners and place getters in a single event. Unless otherwise stated, the following rule, known as the “Dead- Heat Rule” applies: (a) In the event of a Dead-Heat where dividends were not offered by Sportingbet on such an outcome, bets will be paid at the face value of the ticket divided by the number of competitors tying for that place; (b) In any event for which each way betting is available, place ties will be paid such that the place portion of the face value of the ticket is multiplied by the remaining number of places available and divided by the number of competitors tying for those available number of placings; (c) In the event of a Dead-Heat where odds were offered by Sportingbet on such an outcome, then all win or place bets are losers and the draw option is paid as the winner. Try again genius.... 4 minutes to find the rules in the first place, 2 minutes to find the dead heat rule..... |

I have no interest in being right on this occasion. I am just trying to make sure you are aware of potential pitfalls. If you are comfortable that you have it covered then ignore what I have said. To my mind it is sneaky and I wouldn't put it past these weak pr!cks to try and pull this one off.
By:
no way the draw is included in Head to Head betting on AFL, i dont c any probs with how the betting is displaid on their site, pretty plain to me..........just saying
By:
Unless otherwise stated, they play dead heat rules. The times they don't, is because they have offered a market for it, such as in margin betting, as they specified, specifically in the AFL rules, which are of course just extra rules specific to AFL.
Betfair are the sneaky ones in regards to draws, just need to look on the cricket forum. Apart from that, I have never had an issue being paid out for a draw on any sport from any bookie, that didn't offer a specific draw price. Yes they are sneaky shifty places, but at the same time they still need to cover their own ****. As badly worded and presented their terms and conditions are, I still think they are on the whole places that will payout when required. |

You could possibly go to fair trading or something like that regarding the bonus, if they advertised it and you adhered to their rules then it would be false advertising if they dont give it to you.
By:
Loggy,
The draw in head to head has inherently been included in the past. I have had it happen before and got paid half the face value. It seems they have changed the rules at Centrebet, but if you go to a number of other websites you will find draw is not included in the head to head prices. That means Sportingbet is skimming 2% and the punters won't be aware until a draw actually hits. I am just trying to do the right thing and warn the unsuspecting. It's really no skin off my nose what you believe in the end. |
By:
but your wrong.....the draw is not quoted in either centreb or sportingb head to head markets on AFL or what they refer to as straight. therefore if no draw is quoted then its half face value................unless i may be looking at the wrong site........and thats what their rules say
By:
I'm not wrong or right. God you can be argumentative. I told you I rang them to clarify and got two different answers.
I am giving fair warning to anyone that bets head to head and expects to get the draw inherent. They may or may not, depending upon who you ask. FFS! |
By:
i'm not arguementative at all....................................so just get fcked

I would like to take your advice but I suspect my wife won't be a willing participant.

anyone know of any "new" bookmakers online?

Puntlane has been advertising a bit of late. I think it's Peter Costa, the legendary Cups doubles bookie. Should be an ok product. Let me know.
