Belated congrats to Wonders, better luck next time to others that have ran this week. Have been so busy away from racing that have lost a bit of touch since Cheltenham. Notice Acey has a good thing for GN so will leave that to him, have had an Antepost bet myself on Vanillier at 25/1 after his unlucky Cheltenham run.
But for the comp i'll have a pick at Dundalk tonight. The lucky horse is Gatsby Cap in the 7.15 has won 3 times here over the years at this distance and another win at 7fs. Had first run for 11 months when 7th here recently over 10.5fs, making good headway mid race on the outside and taking the lead coming off bend, weakened into 7th final furlong, ridden by tonights apprentice who is still searching for his 1st winner but looked a promising return. Marks won from here after taking off app allow are 57,47,47 and 46 and won from higher marks on turf, goes off 44 today. Interestingly the first 3 in the market haven't won a race between them in 46 races, hoping Fahy can break his duck on this horse who at the very least knows how to win 6 races in all and a further 5 places, will go EW as is a big price. |
By:
Typical, GC missed the break, last away after drifting right out, and McConnells gambled on stablemate bolts in.
By:
Good morning lads, missed yours stewarts but not to worry it was a big price. Today I don't think we want to be tilting at windmills as things stand, obviously depends on how the other teams do but even a couple of 2/1 shots could consolidate our position.
Doesn't look like a wildcard will be needed but if the lads who have had a pick want to have one just in case please post here before 1430 hrs. Good luck all today and especially our 3 remaining to pick. |
By:
Really annoyed last night, as could see what was happening in the race market with McConnells 2 runners but just had to watch and suffer, just shows probably best to wait until last few minutes if following certain trainers.
Glen expect a fair few will be picking in GN so points could change a lot with the winner or big priced place runner, don't think any team can be counting their chickens just yet. |

fancied 2 today jy kappa aintree and rebels romance meydan rebels looks the safer option hopefully so .rebels romance 17.50 meydan ew .good luck .

Waiting for Acey to give us the GN winner lads, tbf he has a good record in the race if memory serves, had me over with Tiger Roll!!

Gone for Sherlock 6.15 Wolverhampton win only
the 2nd to Whizz By at Southwell reads well imo and lto at Newcastle was just a typical Newcastle run possibly not suited by straight course but every chance here in a weak race. The lurker one at Yarmouth was Frostmagic 7.05 not knocked about in a good-looking maiden lto the type this yard does well with so hope I dont regret not going for this one ew but its a tough race. gl with selections acey and foyles ![]() |
By:
Two to go and could be crucial lads, looked at both and they seem to have decent chances so hope not jinxed with ew and ew double!! Good luck.
By:
Christ only knows what got into Buicks head there and the heavy support must be wondering the same?
By:
Never put in the race with a chance NEC, never mind lads a long way to go.
By:
yeh disappointing run from mine, bit unlucky not to pick up place money at least for Foyles one
bit more restraint from Buick and it would have ![]() |
By:
Was thinking of putting one up today at Cork, Likedbymike 2.17 who won over C/D last October winning easily from a hotpot of Harringtons, who has already ran a good 3rd this season, unfortunately with 3 NRs only 7 start as was going EW i'll leave it. Did put it up when 3rd at Dundalk at 25/1 and when won a week later was trainers first winner for 13 years, will have a little EW 1st 3 interest for myself though.
By:
Ran a cracking race to be 3rd, which suits me as was over 4 a place 1st 3, went 2/1 IR on win market.
Also glad i didn't put it in comp. ![]() |

Ran a decent race stewarts. Thinking of putting up Cahier's Den 1450 hrs Car in the Maiden Hurdle. He was beaten in this grade by High Dancer at level weights and the winner ran a solid race at Kelso yesterday, just being collared on the run in btn 1/2 L giving the well handicapped winner 4 lb off a rating of 111, 6lb above his Haydock win, winner was pretty well backed at big prices.
Iamcelestialgift has been backed against Cahier's and they are flip flopping in the betting, backed it last night @ 13/8 and possible he may go off around that. I feel his form and experience could be enough to beat his betting rival who is making his debut. Not a big price but could prove fair value, any thoughts or opinions as a pick welcome. |
By:
Looks like being 18/8 - 7/4 as the other is being backed so going to chance it.
By:
Racing Demons the leaders had a 9/1 winner yesterday Glen may need slightly bigger prices if we're to challenge this month, haven't looked at race.
By:
Can't buy a winner for the compy, sorry lads.
By:
Thought may hold on at one stage but hard to run from the front with that uphill finish, never mind, still 7 to pick.
By:
The money was right stewarts even if looking unlikely most of the way.
By:
Hard luck yesterday Cag, I would not worry about a losing run, on one myself.
Going to take a flyer today on Arctic Fox, Catterick 3.13 running in a class 6 for the first time. Won me a good few quid when it last won at easily Haydock off 75, albeit nearly 3 years ago. Had a run out round the back of the field at Doncaster two weeks ago. Stable "go to" jockey David Nolan back un as are cheek pieces (wins in them). 15/2 at the mo.10 points win. |
By:
notts 3.35 its only fun
bolted in on hcap debut/gelded/1st time wind up...officially 5lb well in & even that undersells it imo 2/1 v fair |
By:
Very best of luck lads.
By:
That run probably put her spot on for next time.
No good for us today though. ![]() |
By:
nearly but no good

By:
You've got to go with what you think is going to win Well Done Lads now it's my turn do I go with Spell Master today or wait until tomorrow that's the dilemma

By:
Looks a tricky race Billposter but seems to be solid support and varies between 7/2 and 5/1, would not put you off other than if looking like starting shorter than 7/2. That said if the level of support continues it would suggest confidence from somewhere.
Good luck if you do have a go. |
By:
Note that a horse I was going to put up the other week but was told it needed the run is out in the 2.50 Fontwell today. Early money for it too.
By:
Think I remember barstool, fav today and never put in a race at Newbury lto?

By:
Correct. Will win today.
