Ainsdale - 4.10 Haydock
10pts win Best of luck today guys |

3.35 Haydock - Mujbar WIN
This is a very straightforward ground selection. He has a pronounced soft ground action and his form backs that up. He was a nice 14/1 (returned 5/1) for me last year using the same thinking. On again at double figures and hoping for the same result. Also on Saint Lawrence who should appreciate the drop in trip. That said far more confident of Mujbar. In these sort of conditions it is about remaining on the bridle for as long as possible. With Shane also going for this race no point in going each way. As always fingers crossed. |

Mine is a ground based selection as well.
I'm amazed they are racing at Haydock today , the ground yesterday was as bad as i can remember for a flat fixture. The time the mile races were run in was almost 2 minutes. A top class horse can get close to 2 minutes over 10f. |

Werbie
VWD, a nice selection and set us up for a charge this afternoon. ![]() I went for Lucky Vega in the Guineas, all in as we still need the points. Good luck all. |

Good luck cc, Ainsdale was another I backed a couple of days. Sadly, Que Amoro pulling out has led to a significant Rule 4.

I've gone for Create Belief, win, 4.25 Curragh.
She impressed when she won at Gowran Park early last month on soft ground, and although that was 'just' a median auction fillies' maiden, the third Pale Iris has won two handicaps since and is now rated 98, while the well-held fourth Powerful Aggie (rated 77) has since readily won a similar race at Sligo. Create Belief was stepped up in class to Listed company on her latest start at Navan, but it's possible the quicker ground didn't suit and she finished well held. She now goes handicapping off a mark of 87, which could prove lenient if her form with Pale Iris is taken literally. Create Belief evidently handles soft ground well, and hopefully she'll be effective on what is likely to be demanding ground today. |

Need to monitor Custard putting up a second selection. The only alternative I have after 3.00 is Van Gogh and he is now pretty short and against another of our selections. I have backed Teodolina but she goes at 3.00 and has been very weak in the market despite winning on soft. If it comes to a wild card probably best if someone else has a shot.

I've got a 20-1 poke I could put up for this evening if custard doesn't post.
|
|
By:
Sounds good, a 20/1 winner would be ideal.
|
|
By:
It's a bit on the speculative side, but there is an interesting angle in.
I'll leave it until about five to, give custard every chance to post. |

Good luck Shane
Amnaa, 7.25 Lingfield, currently 25-1, 4 places A couple of interesting angles in with this lowly-rated filly. The more obvious one is the stable form, John Bridger is 4 from 15 in the last fortnight, but what interests me more is this filly having the opportunity to belatedly race on soft ground again, because her only previous encounter with a soft surface saw her her win the relatively valuable Rous Seller that is run at York for 2YOs, and I thought she did well to grind it out that day having raced on possibly the slower stands' side and been in front from some way out. She appears to have a 'clawing' action and it's interesting to note that her AW win came when the surface was described as "standard to slow", suggestng that a deeper surface suits better. The negatives aren't hard to find, a stamina query for 7f, and more worryingly drawn two on the straight turf course at Lingfield, but hopefully the ground will level things out. There is a short-priced in-form solid contender to worry about in Hope Probe, and interestingly Embolden, who ran in a claimer here just two days ago when a seemingly disappointing fifth of the seven runners, but I must admit, I took a second closer look at the ride it got. It turns out he'd already been declared for this and I just wonder if we'll see a more prominent ride this time. |

By:
That`ll do, as the Plusnet guy says. Thanks George
|
|
By:
Bad luck cc, Clifford Lee isn't quite Lester Piggott.
As for mine I don't think, for whatever reason, Mujbar is in the same shape as last year. This should have been ideal, but he drifted markedly on course and was one of the first beat. Three places - Van Gogh, Teodolina, Ainsdale and three duffers Future Investment, Saint Lawrence and Mujbar so probably escaped around break even. |

Cheers Differentdrum.
Yes, shame about the price. It looked a competitive handicap, Create Belief was put in at 8-1 in the RP forecast, was actually 10-1 in a place at around 8.30 this morning, but was gradually shortened all day and has gone off a well backed fav. Who else knew? ![]() |

Good call china regarding the ground for Ainsdale, unlucky.
|
|
By:
First winner on the turf at Lingfield, straight down the golden highway on the stands' rail.
Tbh, hope they just run in a straight line with Amnaa rather than burst her trying to get across. |

Lord Haw Haw's Joseph and Tokyo Rose?

Unfortunately the draw proved to be a killer, trap 12 beats 10 beats 14 beats 9 beats 13, with two big priced rags in there.
She was the only one from the low draws who was able to go with them until she weakened out of it inside the ff. Drop back in trip, soft ground and a kinder draw, I think she can win a similarly low grade race. |
|
By:
Feck off with your inane retarded drivel. I`m not asking either.

Good morning Guys,
WD George with the 7/2 winner (and very unlucky China) it may have kept us off the bottom and alongside Werbie and DD the only points scorers in this 2 week spell. Of course when you're chasing points and looking for decent prices the selection mindset changes and it is horse racing after all. We shouldn't be too downhearted, we've won the comp in successive years and still hold the record for most points in a two weeek session, so it's not all bad. Even champions don't win every year and as Arnie says, we will be back. ![]() Good luck to all this week. Changing topic, it appears my troll has infiltrated the thread, i have not read his comments as he's blocked, but going by Shanes response they were obviously not complimenary. Apologies for this, he has an unhealthy obsession following me everywhere and there is nothing i can do, but trolling a fun competition team thread is a new low even for him. I suggest he is ignored on here and hope he gets fed up and moves on. |

Andrew, I don't think anyone can understand what he is on about.
All things considered fourth wasn't too bad, and we were not far off finishing second. In fact a neck. I have decided to go early this week, mainly due to the price and it being a pretty low-key week. So it's True Self 2.40 Curragh EW Hollie Doyle had a poor day yesterday, hopefully today will be better. The selection is based around price, and the belief that she is more likely to run her race than some of these even though she herself might prefer better ground. I don't think Broome is as good as the form figures suggest. I think Tiger Moth is the better horse but has no form on this type of ground. Hopefully, they go a decent clip as True Self should be staying on well. I have backed her 4 places, but for our purposes 3 will hopefully be enough. Fingers crossed. Good luck all. Good luck to everyone else. |

VWD DD and it could have been a superb one, 25/1 beaten just over a length.
At least we are top for now ![]() |

Well done for yesterday George , another good pick
![]() Good place points dd , great run for the outsider of the whole field ![]() |

Unfortunately, it's how the weekend has gone, plenty of places but no winners. I thought at one stage she was coming to win. Switching around Cayenne Pepper probably cost 1/2 length, but it wasn't the difference between winning and losing. Still it's a few points on the board.
