Horse Racing is the toughest sport to predict and anyone who can make it pay has to be pretty bloody good
Football you can hit 10 in a row no problem but horse racing just getting 2 or 3 in a row on shorties isn't easy |

SS your selection didn't give his true running today. He looked to have a fine chance going into the race and even though he's shown his best form at Goodwood, he did finish 2nd on his only start at Salisbury before today.
Well done to the Chavman who's short priced selection battled on tenaciously to record another win for himself and connections and more importantly put one on the board for The Shrewdies! Thanks to the 2 Awesomedudes ![]() |

Nice start Chavman, coming out on top in those close ones is always a good sign, well played.
All good here WP,very busy this last week with work, mainly watching and catching up on results. Couple entered at the 5 day stage later this week, that may be of interest,we will see. If it does come down to saturday selection,I will stick a message up on here friday evening. Using all our points gives us half a chance, avoiding selections in the same race looks one to avoid as well. |

WD Chav, sorry i had a hectic weekend, I am usually around weekends, ive just caught up on everything said.
I wont talk much about myself but I am sort of a form man, I try to make it pay from watching videos. I have a full time job so try and spend 10h a week on video watching. I will watch every 5/6F race back that there is in UK/IRE, some several times. When i say sort of a form man, lots of my selections have very little form, Ive just theoretically caught them not trying or catching the eye, or running with the complete wrong conditions or a mixture of all. Im stick in Div 1 of the NAPS comp, only been in there a few months, avoiding relegation thus far, only just once! Im pretty young and keen to make it pay, hopefully will go well. |

Sky Defender is 2/3 on a tight track, was held up in the one he didnt win, good draw so should be up there from the off, 7.00 race, posted as a bet but gone win and place. Fingers crossed.

UL Plat, just done for the place money. The horse must have hit a short very short price IR in the place market!

Sounds like you're on the right path, Swaddle. If you don't have much time to study, then specializing in one area like you are with the sprinters is a very shrewd way to approach your betting. I'm also a big believer in the notebook. Any in yours that you can't wait to see in the entries?
GL with your first selection this week. |

Unlucky Platinum, typical MH ride there with Fanning not riding out for third place, should have had it.

Thanks Swaddle. I will keep a lookout for them this week. Not anything this week but I do have a 3yo that I love. Although the way things have been going for Bin Suroor the last few seasons, I will have to contain my enthusiasm for the horse in question. He took a while to get to the track but I was blown away by this horse's debut run. Moving Light is the horse I'm taking about. I think this horse could be something else. Check out the reply of his debut race when you get time. GL this week.

Shame I didnt use my other comp NAP from yesterday, should never be put off by price but I wanted something a little sure than 12/1 to get us going.
Selection for this week still on hold, Newgate Angel 320 Bev has a good chance but wouldnt meet NAP of the week criteria. Go well all |
|
By:
Came on hoping you put Newgate up in the comp......oh well! LOL Lovely pick, Sir I hope you was on yourself?

I see that Tiger fired a bullet for the team yesterday....its just finishing the race now! It would be nice if everyone could post their selections on here too. Maybe give a little reasoning with the selection if time allows it.

ItsMeSwaddle, great nap winners, welcome to the frustrations of this comp, trying to marry up your daily naps winners with the comp selection

I think that's reasonable to give a little insight into why we picked it

10pts Win hopefully |

SS It would be nice to read a little reasoning when a team member puts up a selection. I know not everyone has time to do this, so that's fair enough.
Looking to seeing what you put up as a full go bet, Swaddle ![]() Good luck Stu. Your selection will have to improve on her win LTO but improvement is likely. |

No nap today but a couple that I think should go well tonight at Bath - the course I served my punting apprenticeship at.
![]() 4.25 WILLIAM TELL - Raced a little far back than ideal LTO but still got there and battled on well to win. I'd liked to see him race closer to the pace today and if so he will get a good tow into the race from SIR PLATO. The fav BALGAIR finds it hard to win and a small field like this won't be ideal for his racing style. Hopefully my selection will get first run on him. 7.00 SONGO - This looks a very weak affair. The selection is lightly raced and runs well fresh. Did too much in front over a trip that probably stretched his stamina LTO, this 10F looks ideal. He can get a tow in from the oldboy OUTLAW TORN and take over 1 out and hopefully put the race to bed. Never raced on such quick going before so there is a slight doubt about the going being suitable but he should be OK. |

Quality hit Stu ......Well Played
![]() Leave that one alone WP at bath,a decent run would not surprise me,token stakes, stable doubled up already. Not much standing out this end for Fri/Sat,plenty agua in some forecasts. My Apprenticeship is ongoing, part of the fascination some might say. |
|
By:
WILLIAM TELL raced too far back and was a bit too keen. I couldn't have the short priced fav BALGAIR so got the race half right.
SONGO landed a nice gamble and it never looked in doubt at any stage to me. Got on at a bit over 3s on here this morning so nice to get paid for the days work. As you quite rightly say, Noc the apprenticeship is an on-going thing and maybe it will never be fully completed. I love the game though so I'm not complaining.I will be posting more selections on here from time to time and I hope you guys do the same if you get the time. Once again thanks to Stu with his cracking pick today...never in doubt was it? She's a nice improving horse that looks ahead of the handicapper. |

It’s not rocket science lads just pick the likeliest winner of the day.
Do you check your diet for the week before a 6 day declaration when you gonna **** |

Id imagine my selection has a blindingly obvious chance to anyone that watches decent races:
NEWMARKET NUSERY 350PM TEODOLINA Watch both of its runs thus far. Debut over the same track and a furlong less it was slow away and got rolling wide, was then bumped when had little chance anyway closing all the time to lose 2L (winner and 2nd now raced again and competitive off 80+). Then watch how much ground it makes up late at Goodwood after drifting across the track, it hit the line very hard and was unlucky there. It has an obvious chance off a mark of 80 tomorrow and that will be the selection, 7f on the July course will give it enough time to go by ![]() Chav, what will be winning the morra? |
|
By:
ItsMeSwaddle have you posted your selection on the team tipster week 1 thread ?
|
|
By:
OK mate should have looked first before asking

Good luck with that one IMS.
Will be playing one this evening at Chepstow captain, sending over some thoughts shortly. Tricky day all round, not much jumping out at this point. |
|
By:
Hi Shrewdies, good start to the comp, keep it up!
Just a gentle reminder to post before 3pm on Saturdays. If your selection after that time becomes a non-runner you will default to 10pts win the fav in the same race. |

Thanks Undecided
8-00 Chepstow ..... Seventii 5pts EW After a couple days of toil, got up and creaked my way to the kettle ![]() Opened the R Post and there it struck me ..... Feel about Seventy. Modest 0-60,couple of unexposed 3 yr olds head the market, giving it as soft now at Chepstow. The mare has run 3 promising races this season, without troubling the judge, distance fine. Conditions look to be in her favour later, left handed undulating track again should be no issue. Given her head, she could just out-run her current odds. GL IMS/WP ..... Not the easiest day to predict for anyone playing. |

A trappy day of racing but I like the selections that Swaddle & Noc have put up today. Noc's is an under the radar type of selection but there is "grounds" for thinking of an improved run today. GL guys
I was going to put a shortie up in France but as your captain, I should lead by example so I didn't do it! LOL What a class act though ![]() |
