Good luck with yours china |

Another winning betting day thanks to Alcohol Free ante-post at 10/1 - I couldn't have put her up at 7/2 - but another shocker on here. Arigato ran like a horse who had never won at the course and as the last run might have suggested was clearly finished for the season.

Well done on the place, china, looked she did well to hang on in there given the pace seemed strong enough.

Undecided,
Can you put up the link here to the actual thread I need to post my weekly selection on? Clicking on Your Competitions and looking for “the selections thread” isn’t clear enough for me. Custard Cream, just seen your selection for yesterday 3.35 Newmarket. You're Hired. 5 e/w. Beaten a head into 4th at 100/1. Back in the day we called bets like that ‘trying to take the stadium home’. ![]() |

Good morning Guys
The 'CC's certainly put us back in the running yesterday, a superb selection by Custard Cream, very well done with 130 points and also to China Castle who complemented these with 14 more that are equally important. After a poor couple of weeks it was a result the team really needed, hopefully we can continue in the same vein next week. Unlucky to all other team members, we only get one shot a week and it's horse racing after all. Happysandwich This is the thread for selection up to next Saturday evening. 2.00 Curragh Thinking Of You.
Well last night's 8/1 was pie in the sky as it is now 3/1. At least that means it is very easy to go on the nose, in fact I would probably have done that anyway. I was lucky to see the Limerick win because I watched the race for another horse who eventually trailed in. The form is nothing but visually she was massively impressive. The verdict gives no indication of her superiority, particularly given the difficulties she had to overcome. She is related to several smart horses although Giant's Causeway is the only multiple winner. I have had a few quid for the 1,000 Guineas but who knows what that that will look like around 2.05. Don't want to get too pony club but it's a nice name as well. Just to put a little flesh on the bones as to why this competition has been so frustrating. I don't bet anything like daily but I have had one losing day (72p) since 2 September. Even that horse, Folk Dance, bolted up on the bridle next time. My win and place strike rate has been something like 40% which considering the prices I take is huge for me. It includes Thunder Moon (14/1R4), Alkumait (20/1) and Alcohol Free (10/1) yesterday. All similar types to today's selection. Yes, it is horse racing, but given how well things are going I am struggling to believe my judgement is that bad that I keep putting up horse after horse to run like a drain. Hopefully, today I can make a positive contribution. |

Good luck differentdrum.
Don't want to get too pony club but it's a nice name as well. Named after the Sister Sledge song, innit? They also have fillies called Eternal Flame (The Bangles), and Precious Moments (Three Degrees lyric). |

Happy
Undecided takes care of the afternoon shift ![]() DD Good luck with your selection. I wouldn't be concerned about your judgement, as i mentioned earlier we get one shot a week, odds-on are no use (maybe on the last day of the comp) and occasionally we choose a loser from other winners we had on the day/week. I was happy with my own selection yesterday, but i also liked High Definition in a race AOB wins for fun, but i thought he would be short. George Also a Kate Perry song. Susan Magnier names a lot of the Coolmore horses so maybe she's just a romantic ![]() |

unlucky differentdrum, not had the chance to watch it back yet but it didn't look like the race went her way.

Andrew, I think Kate Perry is a bit too modern for me and Sue

By:
Thanks George, but although I won a few pence backing it each way last night it is yet another loser on here.
Yes, she was given a poor ride - terrible track position and then seemingly didn't exactly give it the kitchen sink to win the race. Very surprised if she isn't the best of that bunch but short term no good. Best of luck to everyone for the rest of the week. |

I've gone for Dark Devil in the 7.30, so its all aboard the Barry McHugh train George!
He's run well in 3 of his 4 races since the resumption of racing, chasing an overly strong pace into a headwind in a better race at Doncaster but keeping on nicely, looking the likely winner at Beverley before stumbling 2 out, and keeping on well lto at Wolves to nearly overhaul a solid yardstick for the grade. Even the poor run at Hamilton he travelled nicely. He's not always the strongest finisher but he came home well enough last time to sway me into thinking he's ready to win. Hopefully he isn't given too much to do. Good luck China. War Whisper has long been in my notebook, and often gets 'interesting' rides. When I looked at the race I was torn between the remaining 2 Midgely runners at the prices and experience tells me to sit that one out! |
