Any thoughts on two selections in one race? It may not happen but obviously the more chance it might happen if we are all waiting for Saturday.
|
|
By:
I have one lined up for tomorrow dd. Don`t think the rules
say no to more than one selection in a race. |
|
By:
It was more a question as to whether we would be 'wasting' a selection although if they were both each-way to some extent we wouldn't.
I wish I had one lined up for the week. It doesn't look easy. I have three ante-post for Saturday, two in the Cheveley Park and one in the Cambridgeshire but I wouldn't be overly confident of any of them. There is also the question of how much rain Newmarket will get - will it be on the quick or soft side of good? |
|
By:
DD.What is your Cambridgeshire fancy?
|
|
By:
I backed Tempus at double figures after he won at Ascot but I won't be putting him up on here at half the price on ground that might be a bit quick for him.
|
|

We still have seven selections this week. Unlucky mackies yesterday.
|
|
By:
Gone for Albert Camus 1.15 Newmarket 10pts
Hopefully will put the first run to good use and get off to a better start. Good luck troops. |
|
By:
Yesterday wasnt unlucky Shane, it was bleedin awful! Ive a feeling he will be contesting better races Elmejor, but possibly only on polytrack.
Good luck today |
|
By:
Good luck skipper. Hopefully, that Varian newcomer isn't up to much.

Me too dd
I know mackies, very frustrating, i was fuming with mine last week, i`ll not go down that road though. Alarm set for 1pm as i`m painting, don`t want to miss the race. |

Unlucky Shane
I've gone for Ridgeway (4.10 Newmarket) who impressed when winning at Bath, in the way the race panned out and how much he found to see off the challengers up the straight and go clear, and although that was just a small field median auction maiden, the runner-up has since won a handicap on the AW off a mark of 77. Seemingly I wasn't the only one impressed as Harry Herbert then got the Highclere cheque book out and bought the horse. The big question is what went wrong last time back at Bath in a novice under a penalty when he folded tamely. The trainer's rep on the day put it down to the softer ground, so it remains to be seen if the recent rain has adversely affected his chance. He has been weak in the betting today (currently top priced 7-1), perhaps on account of the recent rain (though the ground doesn't seem too bad after watching the first couple of races), but I'm going to give him a chance to confirm the favourable impression he created when winning his maiden. Good luck to those still to pick this week. |

Unlucky Shane and mackies
George the ground shouldn't be an issue with yours as the times suggest its at least good ground , unless it needs the ground like a road. Also it reared up on its last start and then rushed up to lead , not exactly ideal and could be another excuse. Best of luck George |

Unfortunately china another shocker. I don't know how much Highclere paid for him but it's looking like Eve got the better half of the deal. The market vibes were both terrible and spot on.
The only plausible excuse is that he needs it proper firm. Watch out for him at Bath next summer (if the course is still in business). |
|
By:
Looks like it needs a road and a drop in class George.
Might try and dig one out at Newcastle tomorrow evening. In the form im in at the moment , it might just finish before they switch the floodlights off ![]() |

Another one of mine drifting just before the off, beaten a mile.
Nice try George. china - i`ll be backing Nordic Fire tomorrow at Newcastle, hopefully get 18/20`s |

I'm leaving my selection for the weekend ......... probably the weekend just before Christmas based on last Saturday
![]() Unlucky so far guys, it's not our week, but i have confidence in CC who surely has the Cambridgeshire winner. |

I'm afraid it's the old Eric Morecambe line, mackies, I know the notes just not necessarily in the right order
![]() obviously I picked him on here when he was beaten under a length at Chester, but he never went a yard last time at Ascot, but he had previously left the impression a step up in trip would help and up to 7f tonight he's gone in at a price minus the R4. It's a new system, follow them after I've picked them on here, this one after Engrave had won once set free from George's curse ![]() |

Will be putting up You're Hired e/w on Saturday for the Cambridgeshire.

Good luck cc

Yes, we could do with a 50/1 shot. The Shrewdies and Thieves could be getting away. For what it's worth I added Ilaraab to Tempus yesterday. As for the competition I will more than likely be putting up one of the two I have backed in the Cheveley Park. Both the Royal Lodge and Middle Park have relatively small fields but for me they are too difficult.
Good luck to those left to play. |

I’ve forgotten what day of the week it is.

Good luck everyone. |

By:
happysandwich, in this case you'll be glad to know you've got another go this week, the selection needs to be posted on the selections thread, or at least on the news and scores thread, or copied over by someone in good time.

I didn`t even realise it was a selection

That's a bonus to get another go.
I have ended up changing my mind. I think the Dick Poole form may prove better than the more established lines in the Cheveley Park but I can't separate them. So I have gone with Arigato in the 4.40 Newmarket EW. Again the bigger prices have gone albeit with a 25p Rule 4. With three straight wins his course form couldn't be better. It is easy to put a line through the Goodwood run as after not getting an early position from a low draw he had nowhere to go. Despite pulling very hard York is not quite so easy to forgive. Was it one run too many? We will find out today. I am assuming the Johnston runner will set a proper pace but the other potential negative is whether Gordon can get cover from a wide draw. Fingers crossed again. |

happysandwich, in this case you'll be glad to know you've got another go this week, the selection needs to be posted on the selections thread, or at least on the news and scores thread, or copied over by someone in good time. If the above is true this my selection for today but I don't know exactly wich thread to post it. Market Rasen 12:35 Go Chique |
|
By:
Good luck today team, hopefully zillions of points.
Happysandwich, i assumed you meant 10 pts win on the above so i posted accordingly (in noticed you found the selections thread). The stake has to stated 10ts win or 5 pts EW. ![]() |

By:
Good luck troops. Just Andrew to post now.
|
|
By:
I should have waited on Arigato. Having been 14/1 last night and 15/2 when I put it up another 10p Rule 4 and at around 5/1 it is now shorter than the Cheveley Park horses.
