easy solution,no lrf, make sunday compulsory and have 4 days off a month.

If you don't post you shouldn't win.
Where is the sense in having a tipping competition where a napster gets 120 days where they have a horse picked for them (which is what LRF amounts to). Let's not forget we all get another 50 days a years off for optional Sundays. So we have a Naps table wherein a player only has to pick a horse for roughly 50% of the time.......crazy! However, no-one can be around to post every day so there should be a fixed number of days per year (with a limit set per month within this) to allow for this. You score zero on these non-posting days until you exceed your monthly and/or yearly limit then you score -1 for each extra day. |

Another LRF today, if it isn't done away with I'm out of here.

I had a very busy day yesterday. No time to look at the horses. So without doing any study whatsoever I simply picked the LRF at Wolverhampton. And it won, albeit at a skinny price.
I could have just posted the unnamed LRF at Wolverhampton. That would have counted as an Instruction. I could have simply not posted and the Settler would have put me on the LRF at Wolverhampton (had there not been a later race in Ireland) I could have emailed a Settler or another player and asked them to put me on the named LRF at Wolverhampton. So what's the difference? That's the point which everyone seems to be missing. Scrapping it makes no difference to anything. Much easier and more transparent to keep things the way they are, and always have been. Either way, I made no effort. It was one of those days when I was unable to post. That's why we have Instructions. That's why we've always had them. For just such days. And whether we keep them or not, I'll still be on the LRF when I can't post. So what's the point of getting rid of them? Absolutely none! It would be pointless. Never has the expression "It ain't broke so don't fix it" been more relevant. |

same here but it took me all of 30 secs to post a selection |

I really don't get this fuss over 'alter egos'. What IS the problem? If I had more than one BF ID and wanted to post for each of the ones I had, so what?
I don,t have a problem with this either, if someone feels they need to throw 3 or 4 darts that is their decision ![]() |

. . . which lost. I've no idea what point you're trying to make. Enlighten me! ![]() |

Me neither. Makes perfect sense for some people to have several votes while everyone else only gets one! That's not going to skew the results at all is it? |
|
By:
yes it lost MOMM I would rather pick a loser and say I tried than have a LRF, that's just me
now I cant have my sunday rest and have to pick a winner to make up for yesterdays loss ![]() |

Go for the favourite in the last race. It worked for me.

I wish the people who are loading up the threats to f off if it is not changed would just go and do it.

All this hoo haa about the LRF but what about half the tipsters in a certain league where you could predict their naps at least 50% of the time. They should just leave the instructions of shortest price runner of the day.
Cheltenham is the highlight of most peoples year and they choose a 2/5 shot in a race at Towcester . Surely there is as much thought goes in to LRF as there is shortest priced runner of the day. |

well said ming

you have a point Fid but it does seem to keep them afloat ... though lacking in much ambition. But then it's up to others to sort that out by taking them on

Email sent Reg. I`d like to move forward with this as soon as possible.

14 winners in Division 3 today.
I napped Dynaste which won at 3/1. Lucky Blue napped Rosa Fleet which won at 10/11. The other 12 'winners' who never bothered to post (it's Cheltenham week not some wet and windy day in November) got rewarded with a 2/1 LRF winner in Spes Nostra. Is that really right in your opinion Ming? |
|
By:
It`s an impossible one this, no way can you please everyone.
Looks like we`re going to give the 5 rest days a go, 5 non-posting days per month allowed and settled as a n/r. You can, as we already do, post for others. |
|

Shane, in a division of 37 players, two people actually napped a winner yet 14 people score points. You know it's the correct decision to get rid of the LRF rule. The 5 rest days seems a reasonable compromise though. Glad to see you back mate

Fit and healthy Slippy
Not get rid of me that easy. The Mrs has had to put the policies away. |

It was a reasonable compromise Slippy, that`s why I sided with it.

I will Slippy, cheers. Might even venture out tomorrow night to the battle cruiser.

Good to see this likely to come in Shane.....as Slippy says, no-one should be able to increase their total from not posting.
Have you considered my idea of just having those 60 free non-posting days per calendar year in a format where you take them when you want but no more than 10 per month? It would make it easier for the annual fortnight holidays we tend to take and also for sudden family/computer issues. If you take too many earlyish in the year end and so use them up too quickly then you have to make extra effort to post later in the year or lose 1 point for every day after your 60 allowance days have all gone. |

mads - everything has been considered mate, believe me.

Red Bloom got his nap up as well, that was an oversight on my part.

Is this PLUS Sunday rest days as well per month ? If it is fink your going to see a lot at the top and bottom of each division at the end of each month using the right to not post therefore not risking losing another pound . |
|
By:
Sunday will remain optional.
That`s the worry grey. |

LRF -- was put in place because some posters were
Not lucky enough to live in the centre of a city with Constant connection.. Londoners, etc, will fail to appreciate That places like The Yorkshire Dales have areas where you cannot Guarantee your connection from one day to the next.. I lived their for a decade until last year and believe me I tried and tried To post some days , over and over .. So LRF gave me a bit of a chance .. It also helped people on holiday abroad,etc... And workers who visited other peoples premises as part Of their employment and sometimes could get on and sometimes not Depending on that company visited situation... I have always said the SP should be topped .. A maximum of say EVENS would not garher too much Opposition I would think .. It is soo annoying when a 9/2 fav goes in Last race .. But an evens Max SP should appease most players Who NOW know why LRF was put in place .. It was not for the lazy RS's .. But genuine competitors With an intermittent problem !! and helped to make the Comp fairer.. That was the noble idea. |

If restricting number of days -- make it 6
As That is a full weeks holiday-- incl the Sunday Being a non- posting day . Makes sense. |
|
By:
scissors , dont't get cut up by it all , it's not worth it
|
|
By:
I agree with capping and the obvious figure is evens, which is the perfect offset to a losing nap.
Also make it only 5 LRF's available per month |

VS - Holidays - I went to Benidorm (classy I know) for a few days last year and though I could access the internet and access the Betfair front page, I could not log on. I believe this is done to protect our accounts from international hackers.
