I think people are losing sight of the fact that free days don't penalise anyone whereas LRF can end up advantaging some.
Yes - you could cap it, but surely just having a days grace is the fairest way forward?

And all this stuff about being able to access while on holiday.....get real please.
I go on holiday to spend time with my wife and kids (yes, strange but true! Crazy),relaxing and taking in the wonders of our world .....not to frantically hunt around for Wi-Fi access.

Explosions, gun fire , shelling,
Anti aircraft guns going off ,
lorries blowing up , ships on fire off the beach ..
French and Belgian soldiers marching past ,
all over the place -- the day i was there mate !!

They were filming ATONEMENT at the time..

One Beautiful Lady Scissors, stunning features.
I live 5 miles away from Redcar , I much prefer it's neighbour Saltburn.
By the way Scissors were you one of the Extras?

I found out about it the night before , so too late to
Sign up ..having been acting in the theatre for over 3 decades
And appearing in a few minor talking parts on tv - i would be a cert
To have been taken on -- they paid £50 a day to the extras in Redcar..

One story from the day -
The extras signed a form making them pay for any
Equipment they " lost" or " mislaid"
Helmets, tunics, arms, bayonets, eyc..
Talking to a " Belgian" soldier extra for an hour
In the sunshine --- a whistle blew and he had to rush to assemble ..
Jumping up  fast -- his Belgian helmet flew off and bounced once
Before plummeting into the boating lake !!
In perfect Peter Shilton mode he dived flat on the side and put his upper
Torso in the lake and caught the sinking helmet !!
He was soaked whole upper half of his tunic -- and looked like
A genuine Dunkirk veteran :-) i said he should ask for
More money for his realism effect Grin

Petemac -- i did get offered a large part in the film though
As a body double for the main guy in the scenes making
Love to Keira ..
But they wouldn't pay me -- so i declined.. Crazy

PETEMAC -- but I did agree to work
unpaid and appear off camera --
I had to hold Miss Knightley's underwear
While she acted in the naked love scenes.

Petemac ?? Petemac ?? Hello hello ........

My last word on the LRF.

At the moment if you can't post, your "bet" automatically goes onto the last race favourite, as if you had selected it.
If it loses you get -1. If it wins it gets paid as a winner.
What can possible be fairer than that?

It is true that there have been an abnormal number of LRF winners lately, and at unusually high prices too, but thats the same as all forms of gambling. You get winning streaks and losing streaks. It happens.

I still do not see what the problem is. We had a simple, fair system. If anyone can come up with something better then I will take one of my many hats off to them.

This is a free competition administered by people in their own time. Its just a bit of fun.

Oh, and scissors. I assume you "lost" some of that underwear.

Turn that argument around though JRAS...

Currently if I can't pick for whatever reason then I have to have the LRF instead of just having a non-selection. So I am forced into having my nap put up as a horse that I may not have even fancied to win had I been in a position to read up the form. If it wins I am lucky. If it loses I am unlucky. But in neither way is it actually fair. If it is counted as a 'free' non posting day neither of these scenarios occur.

But the bit that annoys me is the very essence of people still being given a horse when they can't be bothered to post.....can't say it's factual but there seems to be a lot more non-posters nowadays than there ever used to be before LRF was introduced.

We`ve been swayed by popular opinion and now face making a decision which is really a balancing act.

As mentioned before, there is no solution.

Scissors, Miss Knightley wasn't even there, so I heard.
You wanted paying for making love to Keira?
I am worried about you.

May I make a very late suggestion please.
Increase LRF from 10 to unlimited.
I have been against them from the start but had not anticipated the serious amount of "Shi*" this and other threads have came up with during this debate. Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay tooooooooooooo serious lads and lasses I am afraid.

So to accumulate the results from the survey :-
LRF stays
Starting from 1st April =
It is set at half the odds - with evens the maximum capped price.
It exists for 6 days in a month instead of the old 10 ..
Easy for settlers.
-----/
Is everyone now agreed with this fair compromise ??
Signify below please....vv

a debate yes.  But it's turned into a mass debate. (a load of wa**)   It feels like it has gone round in a full circle about 20 times over. Our opinions have become same old, same old, boring, boring  (myself included) Yawn, yawn, yawn.
Settlers make a decision ASAP and wipe the ar** of this thread.
It's not my intention to offend anyone who has voiced their opinion but come on, we all must agree there is nothing more to be said on the subject "It HAS ALL BEEN SAID time and time again.
