This is tricky. We now have an unlevel playing field today for all those who selected at Dundalk before the Optional announcement was made.

Give me 10 minutes to think about this.

That's the point I would make MoMM. It's not entirely fair on those who have already posted

Here me out here guys-elvisss has played the game as fairly as possible by stipulating a further selection in the event of a n/r -how many others put up a reserve selection knowing in all likelihood the meeting would be off-no one by looks of it.So why should the early posters get an unfair advantage over later posters who might not be able to access computer until such time .Easiest solution in future to avoid any grey areas is to stipulate that a n/r is replaced with last race fav unless forumite comes back on to make a replacement selection .Fairest solution all round as far as i can see as it will affect all the "n/r" posters in that they dont get the chance to sit one out whereas later posters have to make a selection.Seems pretty straightforward to me in interests of fairness but would like to read other peoples views

Ok. My feeling is that it MUST be the same for everyone. Those who selected at Dundalk before they knew today wa Optional are now disadvantaged, and that can't be right.

My vote would be to cancel today. I know that the Dundalkers who have winners will curse us and those who have losers will thank us so it's a no-win situation, but it HAS to be the same for all players. And let's face it losers at Dundalk are far more probable than winners!

You`ll see easily enough with the PM i`ve sent Reg. Just doesn`t allow you to without complicating it in a regular post.

Dubai, I hear what you're saying and it's an option. But don't forget that as it stands at the moment today has been declared optional so later posters no longer have to make a selection.

Well I think MoMMs point is a strong one ... it is now unfair on those have posted under mandatory rules.

MOMM -Im talking about for the future -why should the early poster gain an advantage over the later poster?.I personally think you would see a marked increase in the amount of posters who come back on and repost knowing that if they dont then they are on LRF -Almost without exception no one at present comes on to reselect do they?.If its implemented across the boards then todays headaches for the settlers could easily be resolved for example and no one could say it was a major disadvantage for them to be on LRF .Surely has to be better than current situation which is clearly unfair to the later posters as it stands

Just looking at all 4 divisions, the Prem and Div1 aren't affected by this at all. No-one has gone for Dundalk.

Div2 affects only 1 player
Div3 affects 3 or 4 players

hth, as they say Happy

Good point Dubai.

But later posters it could be argued have a slight advantage for example watching the market.

Early posters have the DIADVANTAGE of not being able to follow market moves or take into account n/rs.

After more careful consideration and also considering we have to make a final decision now.

Suspend today

I agree whole-heartedly Dubai. It's exactly what I proposed on the Settling Instructions thread re non-runners defaulting to LRF. But I was a lone voice crying in the wilderness. Cry

It's nice to have some company at last. Happy

Can`t see many opting for Dundalk between now and later.

*DISADVANTAGE.
Fwiw my opinion would be cancel the whole thing for today. Not much point practically everybody being put on the LRF at Dundalk and I'm buggered if I'm going to study the rancid stuff.
