any possibility that matt's vote last week was heavily sympathy-influenced, and for the final people will vote according to performances on the night? we'll see. have him as my best result now, but that may well change by 7-30 tomorrow night! |

Not at all from my pov OTHH. People who weren't watching the show at that time were asking who he was and what happened with him.
I'd compare him more to OD regards the likely fanbase but if reports and polls are anywhere near correct, it appears that Eoghan was getting the sort of vote OD could only dream about - and if they haven't been getting the votes up to now . . . |

He's pretty much been favourite from day 1. I backed him at 9/2 and think from memory it was just before/after the first live show. He's pretty much shortened in price ever since then. |

Matt shortened to about 7/2 after the FTEISYF performance at bootcamp, shown at the end of a programme one weekend iirc. He drifted towards 9/2ish on the day of the first live show.

Yes that's about right. He must have been 9/2 as that's what I'm on at and my bet says it was the 10th October. So on the 10th october he was definately 9/2. |

After early audition show, he was around 14/1 / 16/1, 20/1 in one or two places. In the week before FTEISYF was shown (when it was quite likely he had progressed to live shows from the rumours around) he was about 8/1, 10/1 in a couple of places.

my info is that OD have been "doing a Lloyd", ie hovering around the 10-12% level, unable to make decent gains even when singing last. Cowell has resigned himself to them not winning. The only surviving act other than Matt to have won a week is..... the problem with moles is that they burrow to hard-to-reach places - but then can't see anything when they get there. I understand OD haven't been in the top two at all.

I'd agree with othh that Matt should be shorter, but I've not totally given up on Rebecca yet.
I made it 1.5 Matt, Rebecca 4, 1D 11 and Cher 50, in another thread awhile back and I'll stick with that. I agree with GTL that some of Matt's lead this week will be down to a sympathy vote, as we saw most noteably with Vickers. Also as most of us seem to agree, Rebecca has the plum duet and the potential to create a 'moment' It probably still wouldn't be enough, but you never know. I'm happy to go into the final with them virtually level green and pile on Matt in-running if Rebecca doesn't impress |

the market still gets pushed around quite easily
someone took rebecca down from 4.8 to 4.2 yesterday in the space of 5 mins..after she's spent 2 days at 5.0-5.2. someone also had a go at pushing matt up to evens..flashing up some big lumps....hopefully he'll be back. |

I would disagree I think Rebecca should be shorter, these polls could be influenced by punters. Rebecca I feel has a wider fan base appeal in my opinion, she looks it better nick at this stage of the competition, so Im still pretty confident Rebecca will surprise a few.

It's fairly obvious that the vast majority of money in the market doesn't read the forum, let alone post on it. Thank God for that I say. It means othh can come on here and share such great info with us and we're able to adjust our books accordingly(if we wish to) and therefore hopefully make more of a profit. |
