fans can take a day off if they are true fans. If they're not they shouldn't be there anyway

By:
How many "true fans" you think have final tickets exactly.

mes in his mansion can no longer identify with the working man and woman

By:
exactly, we get TRUE fans in the final who take a day off, even better

It's not a great solution to the TV either Caramba. Ok likely being up against World Cup isn't great, but it's no better putting your showpiece on Monday when most people at at work either.
By:
can't believe mes wants Wimbledon final to clash with first day of Båstad.
By:
Rafa unraveling in a hurry
By:
Commercially World Cup must hurt Wimbledon badly on TV anyway. Not seen any viewing figures for this Wimbledon but I bet they are way, way down.

By:
Probably the biggest moment of Wimbledon in terms of what would normally draw viewers literally clashed with England vs Croatia WC SF lol.
By:
will watch a bit of Swiatek-Kung once Novak wins this in 4
By:
The stadium would be full if the people give back their tickets, but you think the people with their Wimbledon F tickets for tomorrow would be happy to be told on Friday night, your final is moving to Monday.
By:
CC would be full pretty much whatever they do whenever they do it as long as the tickets are available. That's not really the problem.

nadal sweating like an african american ...

I'm not actually sure what the types of people are who even get Wimbledon F tickets, would love to see how it's distributed. Not sure I've known anyone ever to have a Wimbledon F ticket. I remember the days you could buy them like £2000 each 10 years ago, but now they are much, much more than that in the secondary market.
By:
I just can't imagine being a person who'd spend thousands on a sporting ticket
By:
bounce that ... !!
By:
why not if u r rich af
By:
great match for edy and caramba later;
Sweden Thomas Enqvist / Sweden Thomas Johansson vs. Germany Tommy Haas / Australia Mark Philippoussis |
By:
Well if you were a millionaire it'd make sense. You'd have to be very rich so the idea of dropping 2k's doesn't mean a lot to you.
By:
What a mug Novak.
By:
nadal given him a mouthful of gluten there ...
By:
I'm pretty sure these days, not checked like this year, but I think in recent times the cheapest tickets have been like 10k each anyway. It's probably bit cheaper this year given no Murray, Fed out now, so price has to have dropped a bit.
By:
rafa has destroyed this mug mentally |
By:
Needs to hold.
By:
If Wimbledon wanted to protect themselves from backlash in situations like these, they could just decide to finish a match like Rafa/Novak and just take the fines that comes with it. It's such a rare occurence anyway, so it wouldn't be a huge cost in the grand scheme of things. But this would have to be a long term policy to have, and not a spur of the moment thing you just decide on the day.

Tommy Haas is loved enough for the other partner not to matter
