that's just a lame diplomatic answer, you sound like you could one of the organisers.

Imagine being them, it's their day, the biggest match on the WTA tour, and everyone is now more interested in this semi final.

12-12 is being talked about too, I suspect something is going to happen though after this. Retirements on CC last year drove action, and that stuff had been happening for years. They won't want a repeat of this.

Funny thing is I see people complain about 1pm is too late to start men's semi-final day now. Sounds guff to me, doesn't men's SF day in RG start at 2pm? Or it's 1pm earliest anyway. And they have no roof and on a surface where average match length must be longer.

said this yesterday. The fact that they introduced new LL rules and fines showed that as traditionalist as they are, they are willing to change it there's lots of seething about something.

They won't be happy, but they will get on with it. Every player has done some waiting around at some point in their careers. It's not ideal, but they know the possibilities going into the day, also with there being a 30 minute break between this and women's final, they will have plenty of notice whatever happens.

what will drive these decisions more though? players or money?

I'm still not totally into the new LL rules, on 1 hand it's better to not have a load of retirements. On the other it's kinda weird you're now getting like 8+ lucky losers into every slam as players will late withdraw for half their paycheck. This doesn't seem ideal to me either, though I suppose no-one partic cares about qualies, but you're making the last round of qualies almost pointless.

Yeah, those rules are muggy. My point is that even Wimbledon is willing to make changes.
