this always happens between these two.

it's not fixing - it's that serena finds it hard to focus.

Serena trains don't generally generate lots of discussion. standard of play hasn't been any good either, so little drama betting wise + little drama playing wise = quiet phorum.

Steffi will always be the GOAT. SW took 17 years to get her 22 slams. Steffi did it in just 13 years.

Truly incredible to think Serena was 2.0 against Konta an early BP down.

no

Graf's biggest rival, Seles, was out for 10 slams after her stabbing, Graf won 6 of those and even when seles came back she wasn't the same, she wouldn't have 22 if that had never of happened. Graf/Serena played 2 times, serena won the biggest match in Indian Wells final, Graf couldn't cope with the powerCool

^ and that was when Serena was 17yo and 13 years away from her best ever season.

did Steffi have a period in the middle of her career where she was injured for a fair bit like Serena had 2
By:

When: 28 Jan 17 13:46
think she had injuries towards the end of her carer, both missed about the same number of slams after their first win. But when Serena beat her Graf wasn't on her last legs, got to the her last two slam finals.

steffi was a woman

while serena is a woman in man's body and on steroids also as been proved in the end of last year

so steffi > williams

ok I'll put this a differnt way so people understand

Before Seles was taken out of the game, she had won 7 of the previous 9 slams, and in one of the slams she didn't win, it was because she wasn't in the draw, the other one she reached the final, then after being out injured, Graf stepped in and won 6 of the 10 slams she missed, Seles was 23-26 when she out, prime age. Graf's total is inflated due to fortunant circumstances, for her.

And as aaron posted with those stats, what is more difficult, winning slams in your teens when it was commonplace, winning them in your 20's in your peak/prime, or winning well into your 30's?
Winning as you get older competing largely against youth is of course harder.

And do also think that Graf along with other West/East German sports stars were clean Laugh
Simple google research tells you otherwise at a time when detecting drug abuse was more difficult.

But comparing these two is comparing two different era's, most of Graf's matches were still in the serve and volley era and when that started to change she started to struggle against power hitters like Davenport and Venus and then Serena, she could hit low slices all she wants in today's game but with the power and control of modern racquets how many returns would she get?

You only have to watch the IW match to see difficulty in containing Serena's shots in 99.

I would say even the likes of Azarenka in today's era would fare well against her.

with reference to age for example

Steffi is in the top 10 for matches played, Serena isn't
