3-6. 7-5, 5-7, disappointing defeat, though he fought back in 2nd set
By:
2 pts off in ranking, still 44th (don't know why he's behind Istomin equal on pts), 10 pts added in race, 2 positions down to 45th.
not playing this week, 71 pts to defend @US-O, which requires rd 3, needs improvement on current form and a lucky draw to achieve it, more than rd 2 looks unlikely atm |
By:
US-O R1 Lacko, R2 prob Gulbis
By:
45th ranking, 46th race before US-O

and as big fav it often goes other way,no experience on tour makes him vulnerable against bigest mugs who can explore fact hes not focused enough at "lesser" matches
By:
1.73, I hope he wins today, but he says it's still 50-50 in spite of progress in practice
By:
solid win 6-3, 6-3, 6-2
By:
2nd rd his training partner Gulbis, who is 1.3x, Thiem can only surprise here
By:
beat Gulbis 4-6, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-3, 1st 5 setter of his career, coming back from 0-2, Gulbis obviously in physical troubles.
So points defended, next to play Lopez |
By:
Lopez between 1.7 and 1.8 pre match, Thiem knows he has to play better than the 2 1/2 sets vs Gulbis from the beginning
By:
hope he doesn't lose this in 5
![]() |
By:
6-4, 6-2, 6-3 is a very impressive win, shame he had to retire in Madrid after beating Wawa instead of playing Lopez.
Now playing Berdych in r4 as his birthday match top40 rankimg now, made up for the 2 losses in Toronto and Cincy, making his top32 goal for end of the season feasible |
By:
btw the only unseeded player in rd 4
By:
money cow dominator so far hehe |
By:
1-6, 2-6, 4-6, away from his best tonight, but it's still the highest WRL score of his career, he couldn't have asked for more prior to the tournament
Won't play DC vs Latvia (as well as Gulbis on the other side), not sure if it's only for taking a break, there are some disagreements with the national federation - the quarrels between Bresnik and Leitgeb (former coach of Muster and now head of the Austrian Federation) seem to go on forever ![]() |
By:
to achieve a seeding for Melbourne he'll need to accumulate about 300 pts for the rest of the season
By:
yeah far worst match i ever seen by domi, but is normal for youngsters if he would be consistent as mature players he would be winning things straight form starting point .waiting what he gonna write on his fcbook report about this match. simply looked nervous judging on the amount of balls he dumped into d net,but still great achievement for him and nice ranking boost again.should be great platform for next season where he most probably going to score points much more regularly.think if no injuries or any significant breakdown he should score much more in bigger tourneys and slams with current ranking helping a lot sedding wise,to be eyeing top 20 within end of next year

Held off Kyrgios challenge to be the best U-21 player
he was very consistent 1st half of the season playing a lot of matches with qualies, has to earn pts in main draws next year which he won in qualies this year, but seedings should help |
By:
yeah first half was mainly on clay where domin thrieves so far but he is quick surface player need more experience
By:
not only on clay, but from Doha to Miami as well
By:
he is good every where but europe youngsters naturally grown up on clay so easier get results at the beginnig

1:6, 2:6, 4:6 against Tomas Berdych. There is not much to say. The result says everything. He was simply the much better player, gave me no chance. I wanted to put him under pressure, but he put me under pressure instead. He played extremely strong. And I wasn't good enough to keep pace. Berdych showed me the difference between a top 50 and a top ten player. Service, return, ground strokes, footwork, speed, consistence. I have to improve all that if I want to come where he has been for many years now.
I hope you can understand that I'm more disappointed about the match tonight than I am happy about the success I had here in New York. We'll go through everything once more tomorrow, analyze the torunament and start working again. Obviously there's still enough to do. Thanks very much for your support! |

Humble man Dominic Thiem. Hope he keeps improving.
By:
new career high ranking 36th, 37th in race
70 pts dropping off in 2 weeks time while he takes a break, don't know where and when he's playing next, probably Beijing/Tokyo |
By:
playing Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo and Shanghai next
By:
probably seeded 8th in Malaysia

Was that the same Berdshoight that played Cilic?? |

he's not on the Shanghai entry list, not sure if that means he has to play qualies and might even get a main draw entry by withdrawals
By:
and he's 35th in race, obviously http://live-tennis.eu/race is not a 100% reliable source

By:
I realised where the difference comes from, though even if you count in 18 tournaments already they give a wrong score for Goffin
![]() |
By:
not playing Kuala Lumpur, but Tokyo, Shanghai, Vienna, Basel, Paris according to his FB site
By:
He didn't mention London?
By:
there is no tournament for rising stars like in Singapore, but I'm sure he's targeting the YEC from 2016 or 2017 onwards
By:
70 pts coming off makes him drop to 41st, 36th in race
By:
1st rd Tokyo Anderson(7), to whom he lost 0-3 in Melbourne
, dog for sure here |
By:
ranked 40th this wek, still 36th in race
gave away an early break lead vs Anderson ![]() |
By:
lost 6-7(5), 4-6, 7 breaks more than expected, failed to serve out set 1
so still 300 pts needed for season goal, majority will have to come from Vienna I suppose |
