not a chance today, 3-6, 2-6 inspite of saving 4 mps.
still 45 pts for the race and 35 for WRL will earn him all time high, maybe even top 50 |
By:
rank #47 after today's loss, 887 pts
can be passed by Lajovic if he wins his next match Andujar, Gonzalez, and Kamke would need two wins to get ahead of Thiem this week. |
By:
Gstaad seeded 8, 1st rd Troicki on comeback
By:
career high pos 47 in WRL (52 weeks ago he was 286 with a career high of 254 from late April), 53rd in race
1.34 vs Troicki looks low as you don't know in which form Troicki is, though Thiem should win |

Potential with no brains = nowhere
By:
6-7(4), 4-6 after a close 1st set with 2 breaks each he could only break back once in 2nd set. Apart from grass the 3rd rd 1 defeat of the season.
5 pts to be lost in WRL, 45 to defend next week from Kitzbühel QF (with 36 to lose at most) |
By:
He is a useless tool.. should be end of thread
By:
Kitzbühel seeded 5, 1st rd qualifier, rd 2 Struff or Vesely, defending a QF
By:
qualifier is Brazilian Souza
By:
down 3 spots to 50, 58th in race
1.34 vs Souza for sure better value than last week vs Troicki, he likes to deliver on home soil |
By:
7-6(4), 3-6, 7-5, more of a hard fight than expected, esp serve didn't work at all, but he won the big points that mattered.
now, Vesely, then possibly Granollers, he beat both in Hamburg, but he has to play better than today, not sure he'll manage it, as his form curve seems to point south |
By:
I wouldn't make Thiem fav this time, but he's odd on
By:
6-3, 7-6(3), playing better today and Vesely making more errors, also the crowd behind him helped.
Now playing Granollers again, already beaten twice this year |
By:
maybe this time odds are justified by home advantage, but I still can't see value in 1.7
By:
after being broken early a straight sets win 6-4, 7-5, though failed to serve out once, Granollers beat himself with DFs.
1st career SF, 1st meeting with Monaco, I'd make him 1.7, market probably lower. Full house garantueed |
By:
btw 45 pts added to the tally, not sure it's already a new career high, but there is room for more
not listed for Rogers Cup, I think he will only play Cinci prior to US-O |
By:
1.9x, I was wrong about the market
![]() |
By:
Watch him lose now against last year finalist Monaco. ;)
By:
1.9 to 1.2, easy all green, no matter if he wins or loses
By:
sure?
By:
6-3, 6-1 in less than 1 hour, impressive.
another step forward in ranking Goffin h2h 0-2 (Acapulco qualies, Queens rd1), time for a win |
By:
Thiem is hopeless
By:
6-4, 1-6, 3-6, Goffin really getting into his head
![]() nonetheless a new height in his career, hopefully not the last. 105 pts for WRL, 150 for the race. 83 pts will drop off after US-O |
By:
oops, Thiem playing Rogers Cup, hope he doesn't have to play before Tue, rd 1 Gilles Simon, h2h 1-1 both from this year, won on hard, lost on clay
By:
new high ranking of 44, 41st in race
By:
losing 6-3, 4-6, 0-6, not unexpected to me, next week Cincy
By:
rd 1 Ginepri, rd 2 Raonic

foresee big rivalry between dominik and the legend
![]() |
By:
don't know what you are talking about
By:
there is one special player lurking around ,they both share some similar virtues of tennis elements that i think it may be future rivalry .dominik is head and shoulders above most players already just need to mature and find good balance in his flashy game.also need to be strong mentally but he seems to be confident in his game which is good regardless of some early results of his wild game.he really has good tennis brain great ball control and touch which define similarity with the other guy i talk about. and this effortless shot making is biggest similarity.andrushka tho has the quality of ball striking i never seen before apart of federer's one,but seems to have different technique.he shots ball the way you think like he would shot the pistols as gunfighter just little flick of wrist ,earlier than u expect watching ball, and bang it goes the angle you cant predict with such venom and so flat i struggle to compare to any player.and then he hits 14 drop shots in 2 sets wining all from some freak angles sort of radwanska or fed or murray only can.
dominik has simmilar kind of quick pop to the ball but not using it in almost every forehand he hits and one hander backand brings him to play different way but same great drop shots or crazy angles and unbalancing opponent shot by shot with full variety of angles available of both wings. rublev sort of more direct in his game not messing about and his forehand is like magnum44 and very consistent if he feels comfortable.double hander is just like sort of type of player usually has, like muzza or novak, does whatever he want to do,... but forehand is his own stlye.reminds me bit of murray with overall skills touches defence and creativity but is so much more aggressive because of his quick shot action. dominink has some goat forehands pops as well but he sort of has no established spot on court sometimes just drifting behind baseline you think wtf is he doing there but it shows his confidence coz he can lure opponent in and hit come crazy shots from unusual positions.but he will learn tactics quickly if realise most tour is on hard where u need to be more compact and direct than on clay. think next year he will start knocking in at the business end, already has good ranking to get some stability on tour without thinking do or die.he need to get stronger physically for sure but seems kind of type of human maturing slowly. goffin is example for him as similarly technically brilliant player but lacking strength on few levels, needing to balance his height disadvantage with strong body and quick relentless game sort of ferrer like, otherwise may go walkabout if not mentally strong when things go tough(like fedoffin). but goffin is 180, domi 185 sort of gasquet (funny how it still feels small for tennis player).next year will be tough mentally but think dominik is type of character he not giving up easily in longer perspective. need to sort out his tactical side is key thing because this maverick kind of period of his career is only good enough for average mugs, experienced solid players gonna corner him during length of the match. but as said he has game just need adjust with getting more experience.but love this mugger, breath of fresh air. just patiently waiting for the legend to approach the pro tour( hope russian swing will give him WC's and opportunity to jump ranking to the spot he can grind his way to main tourneys),waiting is tough same like was with Ana but hope will reward with some crazy tennis to watch in future. dominik will also be top player imo so hence rivalry is very possible because both are mega colorful characters and have this new type of swag but is positive way. rublev has swag no one have but same time he is naturally cool and not annoying with it,very passionate about game and astonishingly has this sort of massive respect to anybody around kids of these days lacks.and is such contrasting within same person, bigest swag i ever seen and this respect and genuine interest into other people.i know when he start playing most people will say what the fck is this guy how he behave such muggish attitude etc but it will be totally wrong observation. only guy who was going to genuinely cheer other players during turney i watched(must say also ana and cici did same of girls); he visibly crushed annoyance and anger when kozlov was not holding to tactics during their wimbledon dubs final and instead he cheered kozlov up(who is kinda very egoistic and self centered guy, classic new era kid) cost them momentum lost but must admit it was the legend who couldn't find serve at the end and they lost.he was annoyed about kozlov again when kozlov seemed happy with second place, legend was very disappointed with himself but kept himself very well ,big respect again. when i was passing balls to him during one of matches,(lack of ballboys )i did it like 20 times maybe every time legend said thank you to me. he arguing with umpires etc but more like funny way never going to offended mode as most players do. must admit his friend frank tiafoe is also mega flamboyant and cocky durink matches sort of next mugfils but genuinely also positive kid and respectful(liked when he climbed to ump and was discussing with him up there some close shot but full of laughs. great game this kid also. kozlov on other hand is massively spoiled(no wonder with attention he gets from media but unjustified imo) tendency to cheat or talking ump up smartassing, taking fake mtos every time losing (age16) seen medic was laughing at him full drama shouting some shyte like @gimmie me second serve# during opponent serving or cant serve like this etc. 98 bornanyways junior players on both tours seemed to have less acknowledgement recent years just because there was not much talent within age groups and defo not proper talents genuine contenders, but these few yearbooks around 96 98 etc is some brilliant crop to fill in and dont be fooled that one player is enough to be genuine top prospect, quantity does not mean they average. those years are massive bunch of competing within each other skilled very fit youngsters and this generation will overtake in future and as big group.it always happens like this every some period of time as strong competition is pushing those developement to the maximum.plenty of young girls, i mean younger schmiedlova for example,no buzz no fuzz but this girl hitting 115 mph serves reguralry and has very good game on top etc theres plenty of them. boys apart of these well known american fritz seen him serving 132 mphs while still 16 etc. guys like luz munar kozlov zverev tiafoe rubin tatlot coric mmoh etc they all very good level and expect all of them break through thanks for reading this scribble and sorry for spamming just wanted to share what i observed recently bb66sy u should defo looking forward with excitement about thiem. i often had this hunch about players just after few balls played,(sort of pure first impression maybe allowing to see something special, donno maybe muggy but is honestly genuine thing and worked on many cases) and had this hunch about dominik when saw him hitting ball first time, hes the type with own style for sure and can play muuuch more better he does atm.fingers crossed not much injuries and no mental issues sort of mugzer alike https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BueSAJZIAAABC8n.jpg:large |

no change in pts and position in ranking (44th), 10 pts added and 2 places lost in race (43rd)
1.5 vs Ginepri, he should have overcome jet lag now, but if Ginepri plays like he did previous weeks it won't be easy |
By:
Just a clay mug in the making. Nothing to see here.
By:
he showed capability on HC as well starting the season, but looks to have lost form now
By:
Overrated it seems
By:
What's he ever done on any other surface than clay? He doesn't look to have the game to make an impression on grass or hard court yet. He may never do.
By:
Playing anyone with more ambition than Ginepri, and he would certainly be in the locker room already.
By:
Please stop this thread.. he is a useless mug
