George's odds are criminal at the moment. I gobbled up some more 20/1 on Alex this morning.

Name your 3 finalists, all variables considered (no producer riders).

No Vicky after all, what a surprise
![]() Mine are George Lewis Amber. I can't quite figure out what they are doing with Amber. Clearly she's a ringer, everyone is aware, but also easily the most accomplished dancer technically. Are they (former professionals + Craig) really going to bin her from a dance off? I sense not. They don't tend to bin the great dancers unless they have to, even if zero popularity with public voting. Amber was getting the cold treatment before Stefan pulled out, felt very deliberate, but in my mind I'm not sure of the intention. Early dance off assassin, perhaps. I still see Alex with potential, and potential TF. But my take on a likely 3 way final is that (now that the only show with no dance off after the first is the final), it's significantly weighted to the best dancers, and the strongest pv. As I don't have either Vicky or Alex in either category, a 3 way final diminishes their chances of a final spot. |
By:
As I said previously. It will be either Alex or Vicky. Both scenarios hinge on your belief that they are happy with George as the winner, and mine that they are not.
By:
Let's be clear, the fact it is now a 3 person final won't alter who the show intend to push for victory. Please tell me you understand this?
By:
If you hadn't seen who the contestants were and listened only to George's and Vicky's after dance comments this series you would swap their odds.

When all is said and done if Vicky can show a steady improvement in dancing week on week she'll win this series with ease. Is she showing improvement, iyo ? |

No, it's not 'obvious'. You wrote today
It will be either Alex or Vicky (to make the final) Trying to have it both ways again. If she's showing improvement from September, you have her winning with ease (presumably, making the final). If she isn't showing improvement, she's got no chance of making the final has she? Another illogical position. Yes you can quote whatever you like, I don't talk up or down a runner and hold the opposite position in reality. |
By:
Not sure why you are finding this so hard to grasp. One of Vicky or Alex will be at George imo, and both are my big green plays in this series. Give me a few more weeks and I'll tell you who I think will be the one that they push to the glitterball. At the moment it's Alex on popularity, and ability. But they are very much teeing up Vicky as the week on week journey play.

You're adamant George is going to be beaten, isn't winning the PV, he's trading odds on yet you claim not to be red on him
![]() You claimed if Vicky showed a steady improvement week on week she would win with ease. You don't put her in your likely final, yet remains your second likeliest winner. Like I stated. Either she is making improvement week by week (therefore you think she'll win with ease), or she isn't making improvement (therefore has no chance of making the final, let alone winning the OR). (and you claim that a 3 person final doesn't make it harder for Vicky to get to the final!) |
By:
George is now a very slight red for me due to increased money invested in Alex this week.
By:
fwiw I get the point that a 3 way final benefits the 3rd person if it isn't a known ringer, vs a ringer and George. I don't see it as being material to the outcome, as we don't get to find out the true runner up. Nothing is set in stone in specials until decided, but up to now, what we know, I don't see how Vicky makes the final. Looks like they will beating the Geordie drums on Saturday, so who knows, perhaps outside choreographers and cc will make a dancer out of her.

Shirley- In my world all you want is someone that improves week by week and you certainly did that. Then finishes with her making a hand movement and says you are doing this, gradual and steady but moving forward
Anton- I thought it was wonderful. But this is not the finished article, whilst also highlighting she's improving Motsi- she's getting there Comments that are gearing a contestant up for the journey. As I said, Vicky has had golden nugget comments every week. Id say the Charleston week was her only dodgy week performance wise. |

Pretty sure they said Chris was improving week on week
![]() I don't feel you can get past that she will almost certainly need to win a dance off to get to the final, and once the deadwood has gone, she'll be extremely vulnerable to losing one. |
By:
Also, it's hardly impossible for Vicky to be topping the vote by the semi final.

This weekend will tell us a lot. George is expected to have a break out dance. The jive is normally a high scorer for a competent dancer. That could also throw a run or party latin at him after this week to hamper his chances for the run in. One things for sure, he's not doing a Jay McGuiness at this point.

Why are you so against George winning?

It doesn't stand up to much scrutiny really that the producers would want to stop George. Got to think of what type of people they are likely to be, and George being a bit of a social media phenomenon. None of the other potential winners would achieve that kind of assumed credibility. I don't think his sex is relevant in that context. It is possible that they turn on him, but seems highly unlikely to me. It's also possible he isn't as popular as the market now thinks (also unlikely). Clearly if he makes the final, the sm attention will be off the scale, why would they not want that.

He also happens to get the reality staple, MEMs absolutely gushing. And very granny friendly (ie would love their granddaughters to bring home a bf like him).
By:
Why the neglanence in considering how precious non-touring contestants have been treated?
By:
They stand to gain far more than they stand to lose, the powers that be yearn for the bbc to be relevant.
By:
I viewed a Cosmopolitan interview with George (the things you do for specials betting!), the interviewer was practically opening up her legs on camera.
By:
There have been far better looking contestants than George fail to win this show.
By:
By your reckoning a few weeks ago, Vicky is nowhere near good enough to win. As of last weekend she was a point behind your unbeatable guy. Let's see where we are at this weekend. George has been treading water at the same level since the start.
By:
Not just about conventional good looks with dudes is it. You wouldn't say Jay was conventionally handsome either. It's that calm aura of self confidence they (MEM types) love, with no arrogance, which George possesses in spades.
By:
Tomorrow looks very much set up to be a breakthrough dance for Vicky. Will shake the market up for sure.
By:
Most of them look decent in training. Hard to know who will get the pimpage. Vicky a possibility. But so is George
By:
Vicky due a late slot.

Z list selebs dressing up and pretending they are a slightly more famous seleb is a pretty weird concept. There are a few on paper that could be pushed. DS are stating that Vicky has a lot in common with Cole. Including being a convicted criminal for assault

No idea, just feels pretty 'end of pier', cabaret, benidorm level naff. They are, at least nominally, celebrities themselves, so it's a bit odd taking off more successful celebrities. Obviously has no impact on the betting, but probably more scope for selecting a p i m p.

Your man is literally lording his hero as a guy that came third on X Factor haha

It's quite comical how you seem blind to the prods week on week dampening of George
By:
Since you aren't laying him out to odds against, you evidently don't see something you're claiming others can't see either. No, being given Harry Styles as the 'icon' is not a negative. Certainly better than Dolly Parton!
By:
I have him covered at odds against so no need to at the moment. He's not short enough to entice a lay.
Please explain how Harry Styles is a better icon in the eyes of the Strictly demographic than Dolly Parton. |
