The anti-Fury vote will go mainly to Jess Ennis.

I was paraphrasing the social media comments...retweeting does not constitute endorsement

I hope Fury comes last...any kind of respectable placing would be very depressing
By:

When: 17 Dec 15 21:56
he'll be top 3

all the publicity, attracting flies to the sh1t , seems inevitable really. flies that otherwise would have stayed a long way away

bit of a helen bb feel about it

I've laid Ennis but I am concerned of an anti-Fury vote going to her.

davis cup winners win team of the year

Logan asks Rutherford on VT why he thinks Fury is a ****. Matthew Sayeed saying he's voting for Fury. Will the Fury deramp be counter productive?

Top rated comments suggest it will be

Fury's inclusion isn't about personality (even if the name implies it) but sporting achievement and as such he has the right to attend and win.....although I dislike his personal views I dislike thought police even more....free speech!

tyson t3 still about the best value on the market

10/1 second as well. Fury is ultra marmite but its not a vote to evict.

Guardian comments worth a read to tap into the zeitgeist

A vote for Tyson Fury has become a vote for freedom of speech.

And my favourite

But if expressing homophobic or misogynist views is no bar to nomination, what about racism? Would you - or the BBC - support the right of someone to be nominated who had a history of making, for example, Islamophobic remarks?

no fan of his, but would still laugh like a drain if he beats jess

not so much if he beats muzza ;)

lol....there's an element of RATM about it....for Cowell replace BBC.

Logan trying to be "fair"...agrees with party line that based on his sporting achievement Fury deserves to be in the shortlist but doesn't know how she will react if he wins. Maybe that's because people vote based on sporting achievement.....repeat ad nauseum.

tbf, they'd just be voting to wind up the bbc

would have been lucky to get 50k without this

Not so sure.... World Heavyweight Champ....not just a mickey mouse belt either. Lennox Lewis won in 1999 and he doesn't have a personality.
By:
George Bailey
When: 19 Dec 15 00:25
I think they should just put all 12 in the CBB house in January...I'd pay to watch that...be a great market too.

Dan Carter won overseas SPOTY I see. I thought I saw a Torygraph poll which had him top? Second fav to Bolt iirc?

indeed george, how did carter win, was voting open in new zealand ?

poor start to my xmas punting Sad

on the fury debate, would they let him win ?

it seems fairly certain that from time to time these phone votes give a perverse result

but it would be tv gold to hear a 5 minute acceptance speech from the big man !

Maybe I should have backed him when I saw that poll...

7000 views overnight for this Sinfield video. That enough? Not getting a sense of momentum for him that justifies odds on a place. Tyson Fury more on a roll for me.

Wish I had revisited that poll donny. On the face of it a surprise win but torygraph readers know these things.
By:

When: 19 Dec 15 10:56
They can`t really stop him winning, if voters want it. This still being `Specials`, the old Marmite Rule` is fully in force, meaning such a character as Fury is a really dangerous red.
By:
George Bailey
When: 19 Dec 15 11:02
Murray wins easily I think but plenty of value backing/laying elsewhere
By:
bardo
When: 19 Dec 15 11:05
george...have you got a link to that poll please ?
By:
bearcub
When: 19 Dec 15 11:07
Not sure he'll win easily. Most people will see him as a cert for TOTY which is what his achievements merit and won't vote for him in main Spoty imo
By:
bardo
When: 19 Dec 15 11:16
i think it could work the other way bearcub...

I reckon he is likely to get even more votes as people recognise that the GB team won the cup purely because of his achievement as an individual

double bubble for Murray
