We should try and have Monty added
Not sure they'd add Jocky. He's dead I never knew. He looked so healthy too |

Froch and Groves 80/1

Thoughts on implications of Muzza winning Wimbledon?
Surely must go close again at SPOTY even if not as guaranteed as last year? |
|
By:
He'd win again imo
|
|
By:
I'd agree - perhaps the imminent kickball holding his price out?
12/1 for SPOTY at several bookies - 4/1 best to win Wimbledon... |
|
By:
I don't think he has the form to win though...
Who the ferk would win if england, hamilton and muzza screw up? Surely not Froome, so that leaves some athlete from the C Games |

Any decent Scottish ones?

At the Commonwealths, she has designs on medals in the scratch race, the points event and the pursuit on the track at the Emirates Arena. "Possibly the road race too, if I get selected," she adds.

Sir Bradley Wiggins has been named in the England squad for the Commonwealth Games. The 2012 Tour de France champion is part of the road squad but has suggested in recent weeks he could also make a track return as he looks unlikely to be included in the Team Sky squad for the Tour de France next month.
The Olympic champions Laura Trott, Joanna Rowsell, Dani King, Ed Clancy, Steven Burke, Jason Kenny and Philip Hindes are all also included, with Lizzie Armitstead expected to lead the women’s charge on the road in Glasgow. Danni Khan, Jess Varnish and Vicky Williamson complete the women’s track team with Hannah Barnes, Lucy Garner and Emma Pooley set to take to the roads. Jon Dibben, Andy Tennant, Matt Crampton and Kian Emadi will compete on the track for the men, and Stephen Cummings, Alex Dowsett, Tom Moses, Ian Stannard and Scott Thwaites join Wiggins on the Tarmac. “This cycling team is undoubtedly the best we have ever seen selected for Team England,” said the chef de mission Jan Paterson. “To have eight Olympic champions line up alongside previous Commonwealth Games medallists and some supremely talented younger athletes is genuinely exciting for us.” The technical director Shane Sutton added: “I believe we have selected a very strong team for this year’s Commonwealth Games, and it’s great that we have such a talented pool of English cyclists to select from.” The opening ceremony for the Commonwealth Games will take place on 23 July with events beginning the following day. wiggins 380 on here, popular guy , treated badly by sky, wins a few golds in commonwealth, gets nommed and the public will do the rest ...... ??? |

Hamilton - looking second favourite in championship title
Froome - no longer a cert to win TDF Murray - surely can't win Wimbledon The more I think about this the more I think the winner may come from the Commonwealth Games. I'm on a 999/1 shot currently. |

Chris Froome: Wada satisfied steroids request followed rules
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cycling/27882004 "A special exemption allowing Chris Froome to take steroids ahead of the Tour de Romandie followed correct procedure, say doping bosses. ...Froome, the reigning Tour de France champion, overcame his illness to win the Tour de Romandie for the second year in succession." ...hmmmmmm |
|
By:
Froome needs some popularity drugs to win SPOTY imo.
Still think Muzza the best at the prices currently - backing him at higher in SPOTY than his price to win a slam (especially Wimbledon) has worked from a trading perspective for about the last five years. Prices today 13.5 / 5.3 |

Murray gone
|
|
By:
Who was that talking about Murray being a lay, on the World Cup thread yesterday?
|
|
By:
Backed 50.0 Murray after he went out. US Open could well be enough in one of the worst years in British sporting history and he's 4/1 for that

For me Hamilton's a dead cert if he wins drivers championship. Froome has decent outside chance if he wins TdF two years running - particularly with the extra UK effect this year.
Like the idea that it'll come from nowhere this year though for the first time in a while. |
|
By:
Shame there's naff all liquidity to back Hamilton for SPOTY as I reckon that makes a decent trade. Lay Hamilton for F1 title. Back him for SPOTY.
|
|
By:
PS - that was an invitation if someone fancies sticking a lump on the lay side of Hamilton
|
|
By:
Yeah if Froome and Hamilton blow up Murray probs goes to 10.0 before the US Open just due to sheer lack of competitors.
Froch a factor if he gets a big fight around November time in Vegas against Ward/Chavez, a win against Ward would probably be genuinely the biggest achievement by any British sportsman this year |
|
By:
any tennis in the commonwealth games ?.........lol
somebody will emerge to rescue the great british public from the nightmare of this years sport murray, gerrard, froome, hamilton layers must have a nice book already....... |
|
By:
IMO Lizzy Yarnold became favourite for SPOTY on Valentine's Day, when she won Winter Olympic gold in Sochi .... and until someone performs to such a high standard for GB this year, she remains the one to beat as one by one the options disappear !!
|

By:
I'm convinced there will be a massive outsider that will come out of the Commonwealth Games.
If Eilidh Child wins gold (realistically the only chance Scotland has of a athletics gold medal) then she could be a major player. I'm liking my 1000s ![]() |
