He decides these things months before the lives. Attraction got much better slots than Jack in auditions and semis. Contracts with 14 year olds are very restricted. He may make some money out of Jack but will make far more out of Attraction.

He made plenty from George Sampson, shock winner or not.  Probably more than he could have got form Faryl.

I think it was far more than just `retrospective goodwill` It was far, far, deeper than that. How much more emotional can anything be than the loss of one`s Mum? Last week, they reached as far as it is possible to do, right into the extreme depths of the hearts and souls of too many people to justify odds-against.

Another big thing, maybe the biggest, is that Cowell has BGT all over the world. He wants breakdown of national identity and for acts to freely cross borders.

I think your placing too much at Cowell's feet. Most of it will be determined by the producers. I don't make every little decision at work, but I will override if necessary. The running order was more than likely determined by the production team.

Piers Morgan said Cowell micro-manages.

Attraction looked a golden lay at 1.3 to me watching that jingoistic nonsense & not unhappy it didn't pay off. Prefer to stick with my instincts watching these shows even if proved incorrect on this occasion. Series was close to a zero gain for me having backed Jack in the w/o market. Don't get heavily involved in BGT.

Yep and there's a balance to produce an exciting show. Attraction were the biggest story, and the most logical show closer. Cowell has had 'personal' favourites given tricky draws in the past.

WD and good night all. I need a break from BGT Happy

the Attraction performance was a disgrace tonight, I was genuinely offended and surprised they won

the first two performances were original, thought provoking, precise, creative.... excellent

but tonight was shockingly cheesy, derivative, divisive, unimaginative, told no story and frankly stupendenously patronising

Regardless of my last few posts, and my eventual reds and greens, I, too, went to lay them at 1.3, but was too slow. I still would have laid Jack at the end though, because, as always, it`s all about the price.

would have been bad enough if the act were British but for a foreign act to do that ShockedSurprised

and they still won ffs

GBP thick as feck

Nite Henry
I try not to be too cynical Tim, but when it comes to Cowell's shows we've had so many sob stories used to help acts advance that I must have become immune to them, as none of Attractions routines moved me.
I couldn't stand Jahmene and his weekly sob story on last years XF.
When I heard him being interviewed about his life on 5live I was in tears though.
I wish he'd done what Lisa Riley did on Strictly. She lost her mother a couple of weeks before the show started but insisted it was never mentioned on the show.

Had every chance to be top 3 with a decent number, but chose their first audition, poor decision from the band and deservedly paid the price.
