TPTB wanted Attraction to have the best chance. You don't give the 1.3 favs the pimp if you want someone else to win.

Pre-show, that's what he wanted. I 100% agree with you. But after seeing both performances.. and thinking about the future.. it made better sense for Jack to win. He's more likeable and has more talent..

Clearly a ploy to get Britain to vote and win them over. Was a blatant attempt to boost their popularity.

Now Ant and Dec pimping them up for Las Vegas, Simon Cowells plans for them all along, as I've said all week. Cool

Position is key, the ploy backfired but as soon as I heard I thought it'd be a masterstoke, it backfired though.

Far more subdued reaction on here to Attraction`s win than usual, especially with the odds-on jolly winning. I thought most of us were on Attraction, and at better prices than they have been the last week or so.
Yes, their performance tonight was nowhere as good as their previous two shows, but, and this is the crucial point, they had built up such an `emotional goodwill bank` that they could afford an iffy routine. They won this series not tonight, but last week, when they had the nation crying their eyes out over the loss of one`s mum.

It`s funny, just the other day, some of us were discussing the Aaron/Jay shoot-out in BB. The last few minutes of this market were exactly the same. Meaning, for me, it was either lay Jack to the max, or a full bank job back of Attraction. At odds against! Laying Jack provided the insurance against a R and A or Steve victory, so fairly obvious.

Easy afterwards, of course!

As said earlier, it looked fine on paper, but the routine was so so cheesy . I am surprised the public still went for it.

Last time they had a fav they wanted beat was Connie, they put her on 2nd, Potts last, and he crushed her. Attraction on first half, Jack last, and he wins. Putting the 1.3 favs in pimp shows they wanted them to win, and they did. He's wanted them for Vegas all along. That's where the money is, $100 million contract the American winner got in Las Vegas.

Yup Cider. Looked great on paper, was poor overall, but they had such a huge lead coming in, and the pimp slot, that it must have ended up being a lot closer hence the plunge on Jack.

Jack was the only real alternative.

tim, I think most of the forum missed (or couldn't get on) with Attraction during the heats, then the money arrived just before the lives, meaning they were never any real value. Only tonight after hitting evens but still leading tv polls I guess.

Thanks, fll. Jack just wasn`t funny enough, and Steve surely nicked a far larger share of his vote than expected. The market was, wrongly, judging Attraction on tonight`s performance, and, when that wasn`t emotional enough, panic set in as people looked for a default winner.

Clyde or anybody, was there much matched on the hopeless cases like Asanda and Arisxandra? I was just concentrating on Attraction's price.

Steve being so good definitely didn't help Jack. I thought Jack was better in the semi but still very good tonight. Especially with his off the cuff jokes.
I suspect you are right about Attraction. They won it on their last 2 performances.

I don't get why people would vote for Attraction retrospectively due to good will built up. Would have expected far more to be de-motivated tonight. Was happy not to back Attraction even at Evens. Don't agree with the clear indicators Attraction would win. What I witnessed tonight was enough to think they wouldn't.

Simon wanted Attraction to win. Jack's too young for Simon to make money from now. Also Jack needs time to hone his act. He needs to give better performances but his off the cuff jokes show that he's got the natural talent to do that when a bit older.

Just as a viewer I thought that Attraction final routine crossed the patronising line, and was going to alienate the voters. I suspect I am not a typical voter, however.

They even panned to Cowell's unimpressed face during the Attraction routine, unless I imagined it.

I am sure Cowell was hoping Jack would win. Certainly after the performances. It's a fairly pointless debate tho

I`m not embarassed to admit that I was `feeling the emotion` last week (while being glad the girlfriend wasn`t at home to see me!) Even the little clip they showed tonight of last week`s performance will have been enough to set most of the nation`s tears going again.
Quite frankly, after seeing tonight`s offering, I`m not surprised they failed in the German and Hungarian versions of this show. It was very poor, and, if performed in their first audition, could easily have been buzzed off the stage! After they won tonight, I was hoping they`d reprise last week`s performance.

Not completely pointless debate. He wants to sell Attraction to Las Vagas who have never heard of them. To get their attention and bids he needs to offer "Britain's Got Talent Winner".
